Everything they claim to be against

Their system never fully created an account (I remember having one for a bit, then was suddenly told I did not), then they withdrew a payment from my bank the next year anyway without my consent. Finding the right way to contact support was a massive headache, like they don't want you to. They are exactly the thing they claim to be fighting against: A "service" that wants to bill you for what you're not using. Avoid at all costs.

THEY ALMOST GOT ME 😂😂

😂😂 They ALMOST got me..upon first glance I was intrigued, but as I kept reading, taking in ALL of the things that this "Chatbot" is suppose to be able to accomplish, I started to get a little skeptical. Upon conclusion of reading the too good to be true like features of the suppossed service, the first step to get started was to provide an email, or sign up with Google (which I never do). With skepticism still fresh on my mind, I clicked on "Sign up with Email" which took me to the page to enter my email address. Something just did not look right about it...IT WAS THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS..so I decided to click on it just to see .. low and behold.."PAGE NOT FOUND" ..BUT..on that page at the bottom, I was able to click on the terms and conditions button which took me to a seemingly legit terms and conditions page. Now on high alert looking for anything else to confirm my suspicions, I decide to give it a go and provide my email address. Next page you ask? PROVIDE YOUR BANK ACCOUNT OR DEBIT CARD......

I bought donotpay for 3 months to try…

I bought donotpay for 3 months to try and get me money back for a flight. When I first set up the task it said it would take 3 days and after 7 ays there is still no resolution which in turn I'm going to have to call and do it myself. I tried two other random tasks just to see if they did anything and both said successful but didn't end up doing anything or saving me any money.

They sound like they can do lots but I have not seen it myself.

Edit: I have contacted the email provided in the response to my review with no luck

Great experience so far.

There are so many negative reviews about DoNotPay, which could have been easily avoided if people took the time to read through the information provided, which clearly states that you'll be charged. They're offering a service, and they charge for it. It's nothing new or surprising. Anyway, on to my review:

I mainly signed up for DoNotPay to make use of their virtual cards, which worked just fine. I also took advantage of their spam collector feature, which has drastically reduced the amount of spam I have received. I am still exploring the other features of DoNotPay, but I am sure I will get more use out of it as the days go by. And honestly, for the price, it's worth it just for the virtual card and the spam reduction.

I also purchased their premium email, which I am now using for all of my new site registrations. It might not be a service a lot of people would get much use out of, but in my case, I do, and it's a great idea.

They are actively working on DoNotPay and have an active, responsive, and friendly customer support team that has helped me with the small issue I encountered and asked for feedback and suggestions, which is always a good thing for a company to do since it shows they want to make improvements where they can.

Overall, I am very happy with my experience so far.

They pull the wool over their users eyes

Concerns CEO J-o-s-h & head-puppet Q-u-i-n-n.
...This business has not accepted wrongdoing nor has person(s) issued the remainder of my refund. $5.38 -- I am still waiting to get the rest of my refund. I will keep writing more and more of these reviews --with regular non-stop updates-- with same 1-star rating unless/till I get what I am owed.

UPDATE: Business sends me some money, it is in a currency other than USD. It is in CAD. They've given me about a dollar less. They just keep complicating matters for me. Sending money in correct currency (USD) shouldn't be a complicated thing to know and do, yet for them it is. Just so damn frustrating, wouldn't recommend them to anyone

A Sad Tale of READ ToS and Bad Faith

This is a sad tale of READ THE TERMS OF SERVICE.

Grifters will grift, much like Trump campaign fundraising where people donated once and came to learn that the same amount was pulled from their account monthly. And not just the Donald, it's a rampant problem across the internet. I am mostly concerned for senior citizens and the people that a prone to being taken advantage of.

And of course, that little insignificant tidbit of unimportant information about the money they will take from you is buried 4 to 5 scrolls down in 4 pt font in their ToS which is accessed thru a small point font hyperlink. And even when you land on that page, it's not entirely clear.

Why can't they just say "IF YOU CLICK ON THIS YOU ARE AGREEING TO HAVE US TAKE X AMOUNT OF $$ FROM YOUR ACCOUNT IN PERPETUITY"?

I still don't know how I got linked to this site and how they got access to my credit card. I asked them several times and never received an answer. It is possible that I did and it's equally possible that I just didn't read the ToS but it is entirely a bad-faith act. I NEVER used their services, but they ALWAYS took $3 a month. Just based on that, I would recommend you stay far away.

To their credit, they did return the money. That's the only good thing and the only reason they got 2 stars. Some guy named QUINN is apparently responsible for all communications and refunds because his name keeps popping up.

This is why we need an empowered board of consumer affairs. I have no problem paying for goods and services. I have my own business and I bristle at the thought of the government getting involved in price setting or limiting profits - unless the market is an oligopoly. But this isn't transparent. Transparent is putting those terms up front and center in the same size font and in clear and concise language.

Of course, the irony is that they are selling a service to stop people from scamming you while they simultaneously scam you.

If you click on the small font hyperlink to their ToS and you scroll down several times (do this on a desktop with a big screen, a phone will overwhelm you).

Mr. Joshua Browder is aspiring to be that new brand of internet oligarch. I'll just take a little from everyone and become a billionaire and donate to whichever political party that protects my right to grift and so on...

I've gone back over their website. On page one they list the hundreds of wonderful services they offer but there's no mention of price. There is a link to the ToS, but there is a much bigger button that asks to you SIGN UP. It takes you to a page where you enter your email address and click on sign up - it tells you that by doing so their ToS apply. But up until this point, there is no discussion of payment or even how much it costs. From what I gather, if you enter your email, it's over. I won't go any further on that web page now.

This is written in their ToS...

If DoNotPay’s authorization to initiate debit and credit entries to your bank account will remain in full force and effect until you revoke your authorization. If you wish to revoke your authorization, you may do so by contacting support[at]DoNotPay.com at least three business days before the day a transaction is scheduled. Please note that your revocation of authorization when transactions are pending could result in delays to your receipt of funds and additional charges owed by you to DoNotPay. This is like the Pitney Bowes contract for those mailing machines where you had to send a letter 90 days in advance of your renewal date and it had to be a letter. Othewise you were auto signed up for another year. Scanners head explosion.

The burner credit card service isn't working

The entire reason I subscribed to this service is so I can use their disposable virtual credit cards. For the past few days every time I try to make one it doesn't work. I've tried contacting support and I've got no response. So there's no point in even subscribing anymore

What's with these 1 star reviews…

What's with these 1 star reviews complaining about a $35 membership fee... It's not free, if you want to use their service, you have to pay... and what's $35 these days... I can't even take myself out for dinner for $35. Please actually provide a review of the service, and not give 1 star because you can't afford $35 and you want everything free.

Literally a scam site

This is a scam site and I can only assume it's still in operation because so many people haven't realized they've got scammed yet. On creation you'll be asked for bank information, I wasn't sure what all the site offered so I though they had something like privacy.com where you can make burner credit cards so I didn't think to much of it.

The next day I check my bank account and they've taken out $36. Apparently they automatically sign you up for $36 quarterly payments when you create account. Their support people will tell you that "well actually if you read the ToS" as if a blatant attempt to defraud customers by hiding charges in the ToS isn't still fraud. Will be contacting some people, I can see a class action law suit here.

Know what you are doing!

I read a bunch of these reviews because I was thinking about joining. It was very clear that they charged $36 per quarter for the membership and that they would charge this entire amount every three months with the first charge right now. That is when I decided to do some research before I gave them any info. If you read their material you get the point that they don't play games and they nail with questionable ethics those who they go after. Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire and maybe a little kerosene too. A lawyer friend of mine who I used to fight at the courthouse used to say that it takes evil to fight evil. I really liked the guy and had lots of fun fighting with him. When you hook up with a service that says they will burn the enemy you must be careful because you are playing with fire and may get burned. Some of their gimmicks sound pretty thought out. I sure hope they do what they say they will. Many of these reviews sound like they really have very little understanding of what is going on or anything else for that matter. That's not their fault but, again, it takes a certain personality to be willing to burn the enemy. Overall most people are not mean and they are not fighters. That takes a certain personality too. Shakespeare wanted to get rid of all the lawyers because he knew that good ones can be dangerous and most people don't want to be dangerous. They sign up for this because they want Quinn to be dangerous on their behalf. But they really have issues describing what their problem is. Well, Quinn can't solve it if he cannot figure out what you are talking about. I have been a lawyer for half a century now and I understand how much trouble people have even explaining what their problem is. Just be careful and understand what you are getting in to. That's Rule No. 1!
