Extremely poor after-service and lack…

Extremely poor after-service and lack of accountability

I had a service carried out by Doormatic in January, during which a fault with my garage door motor was clearly identified. Despite this, no action was taken to progress what should have been a straightforward warranty claim, and no clear guidance was provided on next steps.

The motor completely failed, leaving the door inoperable. This situation could and should have been dealt with months earlier.

What is most concerning is the complete lack of accountability. Rather than taking responsibility or assisting in resolving the issue, the matter has been allowed to drift, leaving me to deal with the manufacturer directly.

I have also been informed from the Manufacture that my attempts to resolve the issue have caused “upset,” with Doormatic which is both surprising and unprofessional given that I am simply trying to address a legitimate fault.

Overall, this reflects a very poor level of customer service and aftercare. I would not recommend Doormatic based on my experience.

Disgraceful service/customer care

Called to say garage door not operating and a light flashing. Told that this couldn't be fixed by resetting so would need to send an engineer. Suggested that the doors need servicing and it would cost £200.00. Engineer turned up and reset and fixed it in approx 7 seconds! This could have been done by phone. When I complained to the engineer (nice guy) he claimed that this happens all the time. £200 already taken from me prior to visit. absolute rip off!

We needed a quote fast to get on order…

We needed a quote fast to get on order before Christmas, this was achieved the next day, and had our garage doors fitted beginning of February, they left everything clean and tidy and we was so grateful for all the support and the lovely doors fitted.
would recommend. And we will arrange for service with them also.

After sales is awful

After sales is awful. Service man turned up, didn’t do anything and I’m left with a door which is in warranty which didn’t work.

Just go somewhere else. To many common issues.

Installation was okay but there are negativess

Spent £1,700 on Gar side hinged doors, installed professionally so no issues there, a year later keep receiving annoying calls from the company trying to get to have a door service, its a simple set of doors that do not need servicing, I spent 1700 on them and I don't need to spend another £120 a year on servicing, its not a TV license, its a set of doors, please stop pestering customers for more money, order placed, installation and transaction completed, that should be end of it, no more, please..

Paid £140 for a service

Paid £140 for a service. When the technician arrived he told us he could not service the door and in any case two people would be required to carry out a service. Subsequently spoke to the office who told me the door was too old to service and a new door was the only option. So I paid £140 for a sales call. I would suggest that the company should have asked the make and model of the door and then told me a service was not possible. Cannot recommend this company as, at best, their process is flawed, at worst they are taking payment and not delivering the service. They refused to return the fee but offered to discount a new door which given the quoted cost being the highest I received is no compensation whatsoever.

I had a Carteck Side Hinged door…

I had a Carteck Side Hinged door installed on my garage. The door is fantastic, and everything from the order to the installation and followup to make sure everything was fine several months after the installation was perfect.

Excellent product and service

I have just had an up-and-over garage door installed by Doormatic. I fully recommend them. Their pre-sale, measuring-up, quotation, and fitting services were all very positive. All the staff I dealt with were friendly and informative. The new door looks great.

Thiefs, liars, stay away.

I paid this disgraceful company to come and fix my garage, this was on the 14th of July. They attended my property on the 24th and I was advised I would receive a quote for repair. In the last 5 weeks I have called them on numerous occasions and been assured I will be contacted back and that I will receive a refund and they have failed to do either. And I still have a broken garage door! Do not deal with these stealing, liars.

Average. Firstly wasn't installed properly. The first guy who came out said nothing wrong and openly mocked me to my face. The manager came out and found the problem which they did fix

Caution on reviews. They give a free service for a good review so reviews might not actively reflect the true service.

Also a service is £130!! Don't even pay that to get the car serviced

Very disappointing service

Very disappointing service. I’ve paid to ask them to come to fix my door, an engineer came but it was never fixed. I did a follow up email but had no response. Recently my neighbour who installed their door from here too mentioned to me that someone will come to fix their door and encouraged me to call them to fix mine at the same time. Despite I showed the evidence that it was never been fixed, they asked me to paid again. According to them, the person who I emailed back never replied the email and I should have called them instead. Therefore, it was my fault and I have to pay again if I need to get my door fixed.

Doormatic has bought the local company…

Doormatic has bought the local company (Shutterspec Thame) that I have used a number of times. Calling the local company number gets you to Doormatic. I wanted some awnings for first floor windows to match existing ones fitted by shutterspec. When the surveyor arrived, he thought he was measuring for ground floor shutters. I had to lend him a ladder to measure up. I was told I would get a quotation in a few days. Despite calling their sales and being promised that Olie would get back to me, I am still waiting.
To sum up:
A disorganised outfit with poor internal communications.
A waste of time.

I have a problem with both garage doors…

I have a problem with both garage doors which Doormatic installed. I contacted them in February. Since then my builder and I have contacted them multiple times. The person you need to talk to is never there and very rarely phones back. In the 2 occasions he has, he says he will contact the manufacturer and get back to us. He hasn't. It is now almost 6 months and I have got nowhere with them.

Garage door broke

Garage door broke, explained via phone what parts were needed, they sold us a service, but the technician couldn’t do anything since he didn’t have the parts. Got a quote for the parts, paid, 6 weeks later they come back, despite paying specially for the parts I need, the technician came without any of the parts. Clear lack of organisation, been waiting 4 months or so in total now and paid hundreds for 2 visits where they have done nothing.

DO NOT USE

DO NOT USE. After care disgusting. Exactly a year to the day I had my roller door fitted. It came off and ended up in a pile on the floor narrowly missing my young daughter. Which could have resulted in a serious injury.
Called them straight away told them what had happened and mentioned my garage goes direct into the house. So had no security. Was told they would call me back. Waited nothing.
Called as soon as they opened next morning told he would call me back in an hour and if they did come out I would have to pay them £200 just to come to the house. Which I did explain that I wouldn't pay as this wasn't just a normal repair. Anyway they never called. I called again after 3 hours. Told again they would call me back. That was Tuesday from the 1st call. It's now Sunday. Still waiting. Customer service bad and they came across as if they really didn't care.
Called another company. Lovely guy arrived 3 hours later. No call out fee. Repaired my door for half the money they wanted to just arrive at the house.
Also the guy that repaired it said they get loads of calls to go and repair doormatics bodge jobs.
