Review: Disappointing Quality and Lack of Transparency Regarding Known Material Characteristics

I have been purchasing care products from this seller for quite some time and was previously satisfied. That is why I decided to also order synthetic dread extensions (Henlon Hair Extensions) from them – with a total value of 467 euros. In my view, this is not a small amount of money, and I therefore expected a corresponding level of quality.

After installation, I noticed that the dreads constantly knot into each other. They pull fibers, heavily tangle together, and create noticeable friction. After only two weeks of normal wear, they already look worn and unkempt – despite using special care products for synthetic hair. In this condition, I would never have purchased them at this price. I will most likely remove them next week because, visually, they are no longer acceptable to me.

In response to my complaint, I received the following statement:

“What you’re describing, the friction and surface fibers, is actually the standard behavior of handcrafted Henlon hair extensions during the first few weeks. This isn't a defect; it's how the material settles and ‘locks’ into place.
Because the hair has already been installed, it is now a used product and is not eligible for a return or refund.”

This raises a crucial issue for me:
If this behavior is considered “standard” and expected during the first weeks, I would have expected a clear notice before purchase.

I could not find any such information in the product description or care instructions. There were also no clear instructions on how to properly manage this strong tangling and fiber pulling.

For me, this is a significant product characteristic that would have directly influenced my purchasing decision. Had I known that the dreads would continuously knot together and pull fibers during the first weeks, I would not have ordered them.

Additionally, more than 60 of the dreads appear so identical in structure, thickness, and finish that I personally do not get the impression that they are individually handcrafted. I cannot technically assess whether they are or not – this is simply my subjective impression after closely comparing them.

The handling of my complaint further weakened my trust. The argument that installation automatically equals acceptance of quality is, in my personal opinion, not convincing. With hair extensions, the actual material quality can only realistically be assessed after installation and wear.

Considering the price of 467 euros and the issues described above, I honestly feel ripped off. This is my personal perception of this experience.

I am sharing only my own experience. Other customers may have had different experiences – unfortunately, mine was not a positive one.

Amazing service and beautiful results!

Amazing service and beautiful results!

I’m absolutely thrilled with my partial dreads from Dreadshop! The service was fantastic – I felt welcome and comfortable from the moment I walked in.

The lovely lady who helped me took all the time I needed. She guided me through choosing the right colors and made sure they matched perfectly. While installing the locks, she also explained how to style and maintain them, which I really appreciated.

The end result is exactly what I wanted – maybe even better! You can really tell everything is done with care and passion. I’ve received so many compliments, and I truly feel like myself with this look.
Highly recommended – I’ll definitely be back!

Beyond happy!!

I was just thinking about trying on dreads again. I’ve had them before but wasn’t satisfied with the results. They where a bit pricey, but SOOOO worth it!!
I wanted them to blend in with my own hair, and they totally did! They look real and natural. They were easy to put in (I did it myself), and they are totally beautiful!
I’m so satisfied with these dreads that I think I will keep having them. Permanently!
I don’t even think I have words to describe how satisfied I am with This purchase!!
