Hi James, we have appealed against defamatory reviews which have claimed winners were chosen illegitimately because we operate draws live online for entrants to watch and we also publish the entry lists for everybody to see the number of tickets allocated to each entrant alongside their order number.

We completely understand why seeing the same person win multiple large prizes in a short period of time is extremely unusual, and it is not something we have seen happen before on this scale.

In this case, the prizes were won across separate competitions, with one drawn via Auto Draw and two drawn live using the mechanical ball machine.

We appreciate that unusual outcomes can look surprising from the outside, but they can happen where every draw is independent and open to repeat entrants. We will always continue to publish entry lists, show draw methods, and make the process as transparent as possible for customers.

We understand the skepticism, multiple wins in a short window naturally raises questions but it does happen, and we'd rather explain than dismiss it.

Each draw runs independently (some are live, some automated) using a verifiable random process, and a previous win doesn't reduce someone's odds of winning again. We've since taken action to make this less likely going forward, with a cooling-off period being implemented that prevents winners from entering further draws for a set time after a win. Repeat winners do happen and are a known pattern across any high-volume competition platform generally, particularly with frequent entrants.

Our entry lists are publicly available too, so if you've entered a draw yourself, you're welcome to check it and review for yourself.

Thank you for your review.

Firstly, the odds aren't 1 in 670 million, you are isolating 3 draws and saying he has entered 3 and won 3. Without taking into account entering any others before or how many draws we have live at one time on the website. The actual odds come down dramatically if you say someone has entered 100 draws but won 3 etc.

Someone has even won the lottery twice before. There are many events of unlikely wins and occurrences out there. This is one of them but on a much small scale comparatively.

We have always had undersold draws, it is nothing new.

We have been operating over 8 years with over 200,000 prizes with a huge number of winners all over the UK, we are not going to risk our reputation.

We wouldn't actively want anyone to win 3 large prizes close together.

The odds aren't anywhere near as high as you are stating when you include other draws he has entered and not won.

Just an exceptional run of luck which we haven't seen before but these things happen, people have won the lottery twice, which is even more extreme.

We understand why the recent outcome has surprised people, but we strongly reject the suggestion that our competitions are a scam.

The winner did not simply enter three competitions and win all three. He entered a number of competitions around the same period and did not win others. The odds being shared online are therefore being presented without the full context, as they isolate only the three winning results after the event.

Each competition is a separate and independent draw. Winning one prize does not increase or reduce the chance of winning another, and every valid entry in each draw has the same chance of being selected.

For clarity, our entry lists are generated from order data, made available before the draw takes place, and our main live draws are carried out using a mechanical ball machine against those locked entry lists. Following the recent outcome, we reviewed the relevant order records, ticket allocations, ticket caps, entry lists and draw results, and everything matched as expected.

We fully accept that the result was highly unusual, but unusual does not mean impossible. We do not accept unsupported claims that the draws are rigged or manipulated.

The calculation of roughly 1 in 670 million relates to one specific person winning those three specific named competitions when looked at in isolation after the event. It does not account for the fact that the customer entered a number of other competitions around the same period and did not win those. When someone enters multiple draws, the correct way to consider the probability is across all of the draws entered, not only the three winning results selected afterwards.

We understand why this looks unusual on the surface, but the odds genuinely aren't that impossible. Each draw is separate to the next in terms of outcome.

It's simply an unlikely but entirely possible result. Rare outcomes happen in any random draw: people have won the lottery itself more than once for example, and repeat wins on other large prize draws happen for the same reason, with enough entries over time, unlikely results do occur to someone eventually.

On the maths point specifically: each draw is an independent event, and the odds in any one draw depend only on the number of tickets in that draw, not on someone's past wins or losses.

Across many independent draws and thousands of entrants, an unusual cluster of wins for one person, while it certainly stands out, isn't actually outside the bounds of probability, it's a rare but expected kind of outcome over enough draws, even if it's never happened to you despite buying more tickets than them on many occasions.

However, all three competitions were drawn independently through our standard live draw process, and the winner was subject to the same verification checks as any other customer before prizes were awarded.
