Scam.

Guy called himself Harry.
He wanted to buy my bike.
It had been advertised on gumtree.

Same story here, he insisted on me providing him a UCE report from DD

It was obvious that he was a scammer by the way he messaged.
Dodging and diving.

Do not trust this con man

DriveDeck Report - Mark

Trying to sell my car on Gumtree.
I've been contacted by text by someone claiming to be called Mark, asking me to provide a DD Report and offering to point me in the right direction.

No intention of progressing and am thankful for reading the reviews on Trustpilot which have confirmed my suspicions.

Scam ‼️ Scam Buyer asking fake report

Scam ‼️
I was contacted by someone claiming to be interested in buying my car after I posted it for sale online. They seemed polite at first, asked a few questions, then quickly requested that I purchase a vehicle history report from a site called DriveDeck, calling it a “DD Check.”

When I asked for clarification, they insisted it was a trustworthy site and even claimed they used it themselves. I looked up DriveDeck and found several 1-star reviews calling it a scam, with multiple sellers reporting the same tactic. The so-called buyer offered to “pay me back” for the report, which is a typical red flag.

I refused and offered to provide a report from a reliable service like HPI or AutoTrader, but they kept pushing for DriveDeck specifically. It’s clear now this is part of a scam to get sellers to pay for a fake report — they have no intention of buying the car.

Avoid any buyer asking for a specific, unfamiliar report site. Always do your own research before spending money.

Scam…

Mark (not his real name) tried to scam me by making me purchase a vehicle check on DD. Luckily I sensed a scam and refused. Have since read of this scam in several places.

Total scam…

Exactly the same as all previous reviews, this is a total scam. Guy tried really hard to get me to pay the £30, saying he would repay it when he bought the car. Went quiet when I called him out on the scam. How are these websites allowed to operate!

This is a scam

This is a scam, I am selling a car on gumtree I was contacted by a buyer wanting a DD check, I had no idea what one was he directed me to this website where you pay to get one.
It is the buyer who should pay to get the car checked not the seller.
The texts were in broken English and didn’t make sense. Beware.

Scam Attempt

Scammer tried to get me to do a UCE report which doesn't exist, number used was 07380318641.
I did some checks on the website, the images are linked to other scam sites, the site is hosted on GoDaddy and there is no reference to it anywhere, it even puts on there that it is on Forbes and Top Gear.

If a UCE report is ever mentioned, block the number.

Just got scammed

Just got scammed, someone contacted me and wanted a report on the car I'm selling, insisted I got a dd report. I paid £30 which gave me no more information than I could have got for free. I'm on a low wage as a care worker so it makes it worse.

SCAM - they will request UCE report

SCAM! Don't buy this service. I got a message from someone promising to buy my car for the full asking price, requesting a "UCE" report from this specific website. As soon as you mention using other websites, they will stop replying. Please don't fall for this scam!
