Problems from the start

Gearbox faults never fixed, remap not disclosed, and no response to formal complaints.

I bought an Audi S3 from Driven Motor Company in January 2026. Within days, the car started cutting out into limp mode while I was driving, with loss of drive, no reverse gear and overheating. I had to stop and restart the engine in live traffic. I reported the fault straight away, well within the 3-month warranty. The car went back to the dealer twice for repair. The gearbox fault was not fixed and has recurred repeatedly since.
I then had the car checked at two separate Audi main dealerships. Both reported an Audi diagnostic flag showing the car had been remapped. This was not disclosed to me when I bought it.
I rejected the car in writing under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and was told it was out of warranty, even though the faults began within days of purchase and were reported immediately. I then sent a Letter Before Action and a request for alternative dispute resolution, each by registered post, email and WhatsApp. I have received no reply to either.
I have kept all the correspondence and the diagnostic reports. Based on my own experience, I would not buy a car from this dealer, and if you are considering it, I strongly recommend a full independent inspection first.

Disgusted at how this company has treated my son (Driven Motor Company - Glasgow)

Re DRIVEN MOTOR COMPANY - Glasgow.

7 Causewayside St, Tollcross, Glasgow G32 8LT, United Kingdom

I haven’t bought a car from Driven Motor Company (Glasgow) myself, but I’ve been directly involved in trying to resolve this on behalf of my son, who did — and I want to leave this review based on my own first-hand dealings with them throughout.

My son, 22, used all his savings plus a loan to buy a £16,000 Audi S3 from this dealer in January 2026. Within days of actually driving it, the car started cutting out into limp mode on the road — losing drive, no reverse gear, overheating — forcing him to stop and restart the engine in live traffic. He reported this immediately, well within their 3-month warranty, and the car went back to them twice for repair. The gearbox fault was never fixed and has recurred repeatedly since.

Independent diagnostics from two separate main Audi dealerships subsequently confirmed, through Audi’s own diagnostic flag, that the car had been remapped — never disclosed at the point of sale, and consistent with the ongoing issues the dealer couldn’t fully diagnose as a result.

What’s disgusted me most isn’t just the car — it’s the way my son has been treated since. We formally rejected the vehicle in writing under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. They refused, wrongly claiming it was “out of warranty.” A Letter Before Action was sent by registered post, email, and WhatsApp. Ignored. A request for Alternative Dispute Resolution — which they’re legally obliged to engage with — was sent the same way. Also ignored. Every single attempt to get them to simply talk to us has been met with total silence.

A 22-year-old put everything he had into this car and has been left with an unsafe vehicle, a dealer who won’t engage, and no choice but to now pursue this through a solicitor (which is expensive). I would not trust this company with a family member’s money, and I’d urge anyone reading this to think very carefully, and get an independent inspection, before buying from them
