Generally I really like this app. I think the scoring seems to be fairly accurate. There is is one major bugbear though and that's it can't distinguish between using your mobile phone if you're a... See more

I was curious as to how I would score. Quite impressed with results, keeps updating as you go along. very novel.
Absolutely waste of time and pointless app, the basis of the app from my understanding, is to see how well you drive and when insurance is up for renewal it would give reasonable quotes for how well your driving. When i used the app for renewal of insurance it gave me pointless quotes around 200 for the cheapest quote. Drive score has been a waste of time since i have downloaded it, where it has been one year now.

Straightforward great way to find good deals on insurance
This isn't just about cheaper insurance. I have been driving to achieve a higher score for personal satisfaction, currently 990. Having resigned from the Institute of Advanced Motorists, due to the "petrol head" element within (and the surprising statistic that IAM insurance claims are no lower than the average) this app really encourages safe driving.
It's good info for my own use but when you can filter out journeys that would reduce your score it's pretty much irrelevant to insurance companies.
A great app which logs every journey you do let's you know what you need to improve on tells you what your average speed was for every journey ive reached pro driver but need DriveScore to partner up with Riviera who ive been with for 3 years now that would get me cheaper insurance that I need if DriveScore could kindly team up with Riviera.
Many thanks
Kindest regards

This is a great way to monitor your driving. I can't wait to see how much I can save on my car insurance when it comes for renewal
I have used Drive score for a couple of years and l let them track me, my score is 918 out of 1000 which l suppose means l am a reasonable driver but the claim they make that you get cheaper insurance l don’t think is true as the quotes l have are always more than my insurance company offers so l stick with Admiral whom l think is brilliant.
It keeps a great record of my driving history and it almost becomes addictive, you want to see how your score has changed at the end of the drive or day.
I like the breakdown into accelerating, breaking, cornering etc, it allows you to see room for improvement although you do have to realise it's a multi-purpose phone app with a rudimentary accelerometer.
Haven't used the insurance and other features yet but may do so this year.
What an awesome app which has been very helpful to me in more ways than one.
I log these events on TrustPilot as it is the only way I get a response. Once again it logged an event of hard braking when I know nothing of the kind happened. They conveniently tell me that I reduced speed by 11 mph in 10 seconds. This equates to about 0.05 g. Gentle braking is normally regarded as 0.1 - 0.2 g and Normal braking as 0.3 - 0.4 g and hard braking as 0.6- 0.8 g while an emergency stop would be 0.9 - 1.0 g. I love the concept of this app but it sometimes throws up these nonsensical and inexplicable 'Events'. They say such occasional 'events' do not materially affect the overall score, but they are nevertheless off putting. I would love them to get it right.

Really good app you can see where you go and how you drive speeding on your phone hard braking cornering
It helps me a lot and get better deal for my insurance.
I have been using the app for nearly a year because my car insurance stated I could get discounts on my insurance. I have a score of over 850. However, when my renewal came in, my insurance had increased by nearly £100. When I contacted them, stating that I use the Drive Score app and sharing my score, they didn't care and were unwilling to budge on the price.
When I used the app to compare other insurance companies, I found them to be very expensive compared to the normal comparison websites.
The app has been a total waste of my time, so I will be deleting it.

It's very good, eerily accurate and helps you to raise you game by letting you know where you can tangibly improve. Mind you, with an average of 924, I'm bound to like it lol.
Also lots of ancillary features such as fuel prices and insurance quotes all in one useful app.
Honestly the whole reason I got this app was to save money on car insurance but the quotes I obtained were all higher than the ones in compare the market. I got a good score despite the fact I was always losing points for cornering due to roundabouts and found the app discouraging so I deleted it. Total waste of time

I like the app overall but it doesn't record all the journeys which I find disappointing. It will record an outward journey but not the return. Sometimes it does not record trips over several days.

it is a great tool to highlight areas of improvement.
The app also helps with car insurance. Admiral quoted £1,132 renewal price but though drive score, I got insurance for £680.
Would have given 5 star but I feel aggrieved that despite scoring a high 971/ 1000 score, I get penalised for braking. and most of the times I had to hard brake is when some inconsiderate drivers suddenly jump cut in or when the traffic lights turn amber when i am approaching the lights.
