I learned with Driving Skills Academy in Northampton and had manual lessons with Chris Barker. At the beginning, the thing I worried about most was everything had never driven before. What helped me most was explaining things clearly, providing extra support keeping me calm and helping me to understand my way of thinking. I improved most with confidence being able to learn and pass my test is a great achievement for me. In the end, I passed First time. I'd recommend Driving Skills Academy to nervous learners first time drivers anyone needing calm clear supportive teaching. Chris is great he helped my brother pass first time a few years ago, everyone I know who has learned with Chris has had an amazing experience & passed first time, keep up the great work Chris.

What helped me most was that was calm and explained everything clearly. Also he was patient. The biggest improvement in my driving was independent driving and decision making. The biggest help was that he explained how to achieve certain things in a way that is easy to remember e.g parking and corrected me when I made mistakes. The thing that improved most for me was confidence and judgment. By the end, I passed first time with 2 minors. I'd recommend Driving Skills Academy to everyone.

I needed a driving school with the expertise to accurately assess and critique my driving ahead of an Advanced Driving Assessment for a Private Hire Licence. These assessments require a high standard of both directed and independent driving, strong manoeuvring skills, excellent Highway Code knowledge, and a solid understanding of cabology and professional driving standards.

Having driven for many years, I suspected that I had inevitably picked up a number of bad habits along the way. After researching numerous driving schools, I chose Driving Skills Academy. I arranged a lesson with Chris, explaining exactly what I needed.

I had Dan Baines as my instructor and it has been a incredible journey from the beginning to passing my test on 1st attempt. Dan's calm and friendly demeanour created an environment where each lesson was enjoyable and along with his funny banter made me look forward to lessons each week. Andy is a great driving instructor, had some great lessons with him and many laughs through out the months he was teaching me.

I had driving lessons with Andy Farley from early October to late January every Saturday at 1:30-3 pm, I would never have passed first time if it wasn’t for his calm approach and making sure i was comfortable with everything we did and calmly guiding me through the hard drives, he knows how to push his students to the maximum without going out of their comfort zone, he is a lovely person too someone easy to get on with and has an amazing sense of humour and i’ll miss our saturday afternoon drives, i’ll look out my window every saturday waiting for you andy! thank you so much for helping me pass and he is truly the best instructor i could have asked

Andy was a very professional instructor that tutored my son Charlie. He made us feel very secure and that Charlie was in safe hands. Charlie really enjoyed his lessons and Andy made the very stressful act of learning to drive an enjoyable experience. We paid lessons in batches and Charlie managed to pass his test before the lessons expired and we got a refund for any lessons not used. Amazing experience all round would highly recommend.

I highly recommend Andy as a driving instructor he is amazing at what he does by adapting the lessons to better suit my learning. He's super kind and friendly couldn't ask for a better driving instructor 😀

Andy is such a patient driving instructor. Always helping reassure me and listening to any concerns I have. If something has thrown me or made me a bit nervous Andy will help me understand what has caused it in order to help me deal with the issue.
Andy is always on time for the lessons, always communicative and very much accommodating of any changes that are needed.
