It all began in the 1960’s when David Cecil Mills, an innovative consultant engineer working in Bristol, discovered a special polymer with very high grip properties. The original products were non-slip trays and coat hangers, which were sold in various niche retail outlets. The company’s original non-slip product line soon developed into a large range of products addressing numerous types of stabilisation and gripping problems.

My first encounter with Dycem non-slip material was as a patient in Occupational Therapy. I was having difficulty opening jars due to loss of strength in my hands. My therapist suggested Dycem. She cut off a good portion from a large roll and gave it to me. I had enough to use some in other ways, as well. I loved it, and am on this site because I want to buy more.
I cut off a small strip to use with coffee filters. It's amazing! No more struggles getting a new filter. I cut off a couple pieces to use on an end table so my cell phone won't slip. Voilá! No more sliding around when I go to pick it up.
I LOVE this stuff!

changed my life
Introduced to me by an occupational therapist. I can only use one hand. The uses are endless. I have pieces in the bathroom and kitchen and have given some to arthritic friends who couldn't open pill jars.
