Very Good experience with Denver EagleRiders

Had a very good experience with my first rental, out of Denver, CO. Made reservation on line and bike was prepped and ready to go when I arrived. Staff was friendly and helpful, and covered all points in pre-ride brief. Return was just as smooth and easy. Will definitely use them again.

Eagle Rider is great

Eagle Rider is great! To each is own, but I’ve only had great experiences with the organization and when renting bikes. I’ve rented out of the Long Branch Harley in New Jersey and must say that each time has been an amazing experience. I recommend all riders to join just for the flexibility of renting and riding almost anywhere, not always having to trail your bike. I’ll continue being a member even after I buy my Harley next year!

I've had nothing but good experiences…

I've had nothing but good experiences with EagleRider on the numerous occasions I've rented with them. My latest rental at Cowboy HD in Austin is no exception. The bike I reserved was waiting for me as well as the box containing my riding gear I shipped ahead. Bike was a brand new Streetglide, exactly as promised. Dropping the bike off couldn't have been any easier. I will continue to do business with them and only wish they still rented out of Smokey Mountain HD.

Had a technical issue in making my reservation

Had a technical issue in making my reservation. I contacted customer service, Susanne Lopez to help me out in resolving the issue. Susanne is very friendly and polite in her approach. She took an extra effort to help me on my reservation. Employees like Susanne are no doubt defiantly an asset to any organization. Thanks Susanne!

Not only Cowboys should wear Masks!

Took advantage of one of Eagle Riders' "Flash" sales to rent three bikes for a 9-day self-guided tour. We also used the new express check-in online to save time when we got there. Unfortunately, we neither saved time nor money! On arrival you could not describe the check in as express, there was still a lot of messing about and we felt the online check in had been a waste of time. As for saving money on the flash sale, well that didn't last long as we were given the hard sell and scare stories of needing collision waiver, breakdown cover, and oh yes a 100 dollar mark on our cards just in case we got a ticket! This little extra took an extra $330 off us each, We tried to explain to the manager that these extra costs should be made clear on their site as certainly in the UK when hiring rental these are usually included in the cost. The Manager was quite glib in his response and didn't want to listen only taking our money and adding that this way it gives people their choice to use their own insurance if they want! Anyway we picked up the bikes which were not Road Kings as we had requested and left the store and did in fact despite Eagle Riders' cavalier attitude enjoy the trip, but would think twice or even three times before using them or recommending them to anyone else

Hey Mark, I am very sorry to hear about your negative experience and do apologize if you felt like there was an up sell on your reservation, that is never how we want to make our customers feel.

All of these things added on are all optional items and are clearly shown during your online reservation process where you're able to purchase ahead of time.

As for the $100 that is just a security deposit hold on your card that we never take unless the bike is damaged. It's not for a ticket or anything like that and you get the full amount back when the bike is returned.

We do appreciate your business and glad you enjoyed your trip and with the 30% off you still saved over $500 per bike!

EagleRider Membership Lacks Transparency & Follow Unethical Practices

EagleRider, while offering the potential of amazing experiences, has unethical business practices and their membership program lacks transparency and uses false advertising.

I was a member of the EagleRider motorcycle club, which offered a day free credit per month of payment. At the time, I was saving for the max of 24days credits to enjoy a long road trip.

It turns out that the free credit covers some bikes, not other bikes,, does not cover sundry charges (a 5 day trip can still costs hundreds of $). Credits can also only be use at some locations.

Finally, EagleRider has locked people paying monthly subscriptions into annual terms. The result is one cannot cancel when you want to, even though paying monthly.

Hi Paola. The Membership page on our website very clearly shows the plan options, as well as how many credits it requires to rent each available model. It also shows a comparison of what it costs to rent a popular model with the retail rates vs being a Club Member, including a breakdown of any seasonal surcharges. Most bikes require 1 -2 credits per 24 hours rental, while a handful of the largest cruising models can require 3 - 4 credits per day. Currently, credits may be redeemed at 70 locations in the US, with the average Club Member saving 52% on the base rate of each rental.

Bad rental service at EagleRider Chicago

We rented longtime in advance 3 Touring Harleys In Chicago: They didn’t give us the models we reserved although we paid the model guarantee option.
We reserved the Road Glide Ultras but got instead the Road Glide Touring Editions with the low windshield.
This model is far less uncomfortable than the Ultra for touring with our wifes.
Although they had the Ultra in their shop reserved for somebody else a later day, the local manager Danny Brown didn’t want to swap them for us.
The only thing he was ready to accept was to refund the model guarantee fee and the model day price rental difference whicis is the least he had to do.
No the problem is that it's not a direct refund to our CC but a discount code on a future rental.
As I/we have no short/long term plan in future rentals, this option is no use to us.
I'll never rent through them anymore. I'll be better off with Explorify.

Thanks for your review. Unfortunately, the supply chain issues the US is experiencing this year affected our ability to carry the exact fleet mix we were planning for, forcing us to put some riders on second choice bikes during peak demand periods. While this is allowed for in our T&Cs, it is not the experience we are trying to provide our riders like you paying a fair amount of money for the perfect bike to match your ride. Your refund, however, should have gone straight to your card. If this is not the case, please email experience@eaglerider.com with your reservation number, and we will make sure to refund your card. It is my hope that we get a chance to see you on the road with us again soon.

Terrible/Awful Company.

We booked well in advance, two motorcycles for a 46 day trip across America. Two couples. We were unfortunate in that my wife had a medical diagnosis that prevented us travelling from the UK to the usa. My friend and his wife did manage the whole trip and their review will be completely different to ours.
Because we were forced to cancel about a week before travelling, Eagle rider would not refund any of our rental charges. So that's well over £7000 (YES £7000) in rental fees and insurance that we were unable to recover and had to rely on our travel insurance to pay most of (not all monies recovered unfortunately). So Eagle Rider did quite well out of us. No bike provided and extortionate insurance in existence which was risk free for them.
My advice is, if you must use this company (and obviously we won't again), READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. IF YOU DO THIS THEN YOU PROBABLY WON'T RENT A BIKE FROM THIS COMPANY. Certainly take note that any cancellations prior to a certain date before travelling are only refunded by way of a voucher and not refund. Even that leaves a bad taste. This means you are now tied in to this company and will be subject to their varying prices. MY ADVICE. FIND ANOTHER PROVIDER WITH BETTER TERMS AND CONDITIONS. Or make sure your travel insurance covers you in full.

Dear. Mr. Wright
I’m very sorry to hear that your wife came down with an illness and you were not able to make what I’m sure was to be the trip of a lifetime with just a week before your travel dates. I also hope you will understand that with a multi-week reservation on file, we turned down several opportunities to rent that bike to other people who were also planning trips. There are not many resorts, motorcycle rental companies, or tour companies that will offer a full refund for a cancellation on such short notice. We are always willing to work with somebody in your situation in terms of offering a refund, but with such a short window of time prior to pick up, we would not have been able to rent that same bike on a new reservation, or two, to make up for the lost revenue from your missed reservation.

I do want to let you know that your request is being reviewed by the team, and we will be in contact with your travel agent very soon with some options. For now, our best wishes to your wife for a speedy recovery, and we hope to have the opportunity to see you on the road with EagleRider very soon.

Be careful with this company

Be careful with this company. Carefully read the terms and conditions and don't believe anything they tell you on the phone. Bottom line is, once they've got your money (required to book the reservation) it's a wrap. No refunds for any reason

Hello Mr. Cook. We do, in fact, offer refunds in the form of a store credit that may be redeemed for a future rental or tour. Please keep in mind that we plan our fleet size and mix, then purchase a few thousand bikes each year based on reservations we have on the books. We understand people much cancel or change plans from time to time, so we are extremely flexible with our store credit timing and usage, just like an airline is when you have to cancel travel with them.

Eagle Rider has ZERO Compassion…

Eagle Rider has ZERO Compassion…

Hurricane Ian tearing up Florida and we had plans to ride from Miami to Key West. Called to cancel my reservation after the storms destruction and they cancelled but kept all my money ($101). It’s the not money its the principle and when a natural disaster is occurring you’d think they would think out of the box to accommodate members. I’ve had good experiences in person at their locations, but their phone reps have bad attitudes and aren’t very helpful. Their motto is take it or leave it. I want to leave it but I have no other options. After speaking with HD Corporate I’m hoping they will find a better partner in the future.

Buyer Beware!

3 Fantastic biking holidays

I've had 3 good holidays with this company on unaccompanied tours in Utah, California and Colorado. Renting from Las Vegas twice and Denver once.
I have always paid for a reserved bike, and always taken out the insurances etc. I've always got the bike I wanted and when I damaged a bike by dropping it in a car park, there wasn't any quibbling.

Overall I recommend Eagle Rider: theres cheaper hire companies, and cheaper ways of booking accomodation, but as a package its worked for me.

I will say that when booking this year they weren't as proactive as they were pre pandemic, but I guess they were struggling, same as everyone else to get and keep staff.

Thank you for the kind words and for your understanding. Like many companies, 2022 was a huge rebound, but we struggled to find enough people to fully staff our locations, causing some uncharacteristic delays in response times to requests. Your patience was, and still remains, greatly appreciated.

Check they actually have the bikes

These guys don’t have the bikes they advertise and don’t tell you in advance! When offered a try cycle I was forced to cancel and book another company they refused a refund. Do not trust them!

Awful, Awful Company

Very poor experience - expensive and poor customer service which did not match price point.

If i could have given lower score I would. Details as follows
First of all their “personalised” tour app is not personalised at all. It is just a generic, lazy cut and paste for every customer. I base this on the fact that
- Bonnie Springs Ranch was on my itinerary despite fact it closed 3 yrs ago!
- glacier point at Yosemite was on my itinerary but is actually closed for all 2022
- the California State Mining and Mineral Museum was on my itinerary for Wednesday despite fact that it is closed Mon-Wed

I could go on…..

The tour app cannot even be relied upon as a navigation tool. We had to carefully pick and choose which items to visit on day 2 given a significant bad weather diversion the day previous. I selected “go” on app to take us directly to Lake Crowley but in fact the app took me to Manmouth Lakes. Clearly links not set up correctly!

However, biggest issue, and why i would never recommend or trust these cowboys again is that original itinerary included a stay in Pismo Beach. However, without informing me or warning me, the hotel selected was in Cambria, 60 miles from Pismo Beach. When I talked to their Tour Manager, he admitted that their Pismo Beach hotel was full - we had organised this trip and paid for it well in advance (and there is certainly more than one hotel in Pismo Beach) and they had selected another hotel!! Such a significant change should have been highlighted, and I should have been CONSULTED. That would be true UNLESS you are a customer of Eagle Riders! Even then, the “personalised and customised tour app” (have to love their sense of humour) still included Pismo Beach for the day they had relocated us to Cambria! If we had followed their itinerary we would have basically driven for 60 miles along the pacific highway and then driven another 60miles back on same road to reach our hotel. Which tour company thinks like that? (Hint Eagle Riders).

Cambria - which was their chosen alternative was I assume a lot cheaper for them. We expected a busy, attractive beach location and ended up in a sleepy out of the way dead one-horse town! Worse, this cost us an hr the following day - an already short day because we had to return bikes.

When raised with Nick, their tour manager, he was anything but apologetic for the change and for not notifying or consulting me about the change. Apparently it was our fault for not using google maps to check in detail how far Cambria was to Pismo Beach when he sent hotel vouchers!!!! I am not American so I am not an expert on the location of every city! I did however have emails and the tour web page which clearly set out a hotel in Pismo Beach but still my fault?!?! Yes. Truly. This is the type of company and people you are dealing with. Avoid these people at all costs!!!!!

Hey There,

We're sorry to hear about your less-than-perfect trip with us and for bringing a couple things to our attention. We were unaware that Bonita Springs has been closed down since 2019 and we're working with our app team to take it out of the Las Vegas Points of interest along with others to make sure our app is up to date with these POIs.

Please know that the Points of interests are not listed because they are available on your specific dates, but rather places you can see on your route if possible similar to using your standard phones GPS that POIs will popup regardless if they're open or close at that specific time.

We understand that Pismo Beach was an important part of your trip and because of the hotel being in Cambria he missed. Unfortunately; Pismo Beach was booked up and so Cambria was the closest place with availability. We sent you all of your hotel vouchers 30 days before your trip with all of this information to allow adequate time to contact us and inquire about these types of things, but we were not told about any issues with the Cambria booking until after your trip.

We strive to make every trip as seamless and enjoyable as possible and will continue to use valuable feedback like this to make sure we're able to do so.

I would never hire from these again

I would never hire from these again; complete rip off merchants and con artists. it starts with the additional $499 insurance cover even though you pay for vip cover at $700. We had issues with one of the bikes with worn tire tread; it was ok as long as it did not rain! they said they would swap the bike out for us but never came back to us. We then had a damaged front rim and slow puncture and there only comment was !! it looks like you have damaged the rim..when asked what was the procedure for sorting it out they again ignored us. We cut our trip short by 2 days as we could not take the risk of an accident occuring. All in all we spent over £11,000 or $13,400 on 2 bikes for a trip across the states that's a serious amount of money. The staff make promises of any issues let us know and we will sort it for you, this was clearly a complete lie. They have absolutely no customer care; I am sure they will not return my money for the 2 days each we lost that's for sure. I will use a Harley dealer next time as they might actually appreciate the business.

Hi Rick, I do apologize for your issues with your rental, but our rental and mechanic staff always checks every bike after each rental to ensure they're safe and ready to go back out on the next rental. The $499 additional insurance is only a deposit that is never taken out of your account, similar to renting a car that deposit is returned to you when you return the bike undamaged. We work very closely with Harley to ensure all of our models are new and in good condition and updated those models every year to ensure the best and safest experience possible.

I've been with eagle rider since 2017

I've been with eagle rider since 2017, had both great and horrible experiences,

Call and confirm before traveling

eagle rider have greatly reduced the number of rental places since I joined. Or maybe more accurately, eagle rider has been kicked out of many dealers since I've joined. Many rental places do not use the credits that you pay for, What is the point of membership?

I rent every year out of denver, vegas, reno, tampa.

first and last year renting was great, two bad experiences since my 5 years of being a member. the membership works out for me since I use it at least once annually, but it might be better just to rent directly.

Sturgis Eaglerider - Excellent Service

I have just hired a Streetglide from Eaglearider at Sturgis, South Dakota.
The hire was for 10 days.
The Office Manager, Kevin, was excellent.
The Streeglide had 10k miles and was in as new condition. It had a full tour pack.
My riding buddy had arranged to hire a Softail Heritage. However, Kevin upgraded him to a Tourglide which only had 2k on the clock at no extra cost. Result!
Be aware, the Sturgis office is actually located at Vale, about 12 miles out of Sturgis, next door to the Full Throttle Saloon.
Taxis are scarce, and at the time of posting it will cost around 30.00 USD each way from the city centre to get out there.
All in all 5 Stars for quality of service and value.

Hi Zven, I am sorry to hear you had a negative experience with your membership but I can assure you that if your trip is cancelled for any reason we do issue you a store credit or return your club credits for you to use at a later date. Your membership account also allows you to either opt-in or out of auto renewal and this is something you can do at anytime. If a bike you reserved is not available for whatever reason, we try and put you on a similar bike that is the same amount of credits and more often one that is more expensive, if we're unable to do this we refund the credit difference or the amount paid.

Devil In The Details

...or the fine print.

I was on the edge of a 2-3 review because I used them twice, with a membership (that I only held onto for a year), and the bikes themselves were okay. My buddy & I rented two for a trip. I got the bike I requested, he did not - but that wasn't entirely unexpected. The bikes were in good condition and the checkin/out process smooth. The folks at the Hawthorne location were helpful and friendly.

The fact this company doesn't appear to go out of its way to ensure customer satisfaction and uses very deceptive wording/policies convinced me to round my rating down.

Deceptive wording - they say you get a free rental on your birthday. Yes...*ON* your birthday only. Can't be used any other time. They say you can transfer credits to friends/family. Yes...for a fee that's equivalent to a month's membership per rental day. They try to suck you into a membership saying that you get extra rental credits when you sign up but that turns out to only be them pulling forward credits, not adding.

Bottom line, is that this company goes out of its way to get your money and doesn't appear to be concerned with customer satisfaction WHATSOEVER. I think they know the end is near with other outfits like RidersShare and TwistedRoad and are just trying to milk whatever money they can in the little time they have left. It's a shame really because their corporate money grubbing tactics are hurting the local guys.
