Leading by example
When I visited my local Coop in Leiston today, I spotted the manager and another staff member picking up rubbish around the outside of the supermarket.
The manager said they were trying to raise the profile of the supermarket in the community.
I would like to congratulate E of E Coop for employing managers that 'lead by example', and who are not afraid to get their hands dirty. Well done!!
Good for necessities, reward points poor
Bsea
Have ok stock and basic daily top up needs. The clothes bit is a big plus as was the subway(left 2yr ago)
Mostly friendly staff.
Prob same most shops, but price goes up fortnightly.
Rewards are a joke.
Filled up weekly for a year with diesel/petrol/shopping and got 16 notes.
PARKING WARNING Parents
PARKING WARNING after a recent visit to Stowmarket COOP, I have since received a parking fine for using a parent a baby space. Having 2 children in the car but not getting them out as they were asleep, I stopped for 2 minutes to check if the store was open. It wasn't and in turn, I now have a ticket for £170 after contesting and sending proof that I had 2 children in the car.
I want to make as many people aware of this as this is wrong. And I hope it makes people think about using these stores.
AWFUL !!
What an awful branch of the East of England co-op. Two members of staff in particular are rude and abrasive.. Layla and Kelly.
It has been requested that customers are respectful and wear masks even though mask restrictions have changed and yet NOT ONE single member of staff is wearing one!
Self service tills
Self service tills - two staff chatting in store Cauldwell Hall Road 24/7/21 - just told me to use self service. I had cash and a coop divi coupon - took them longer to put it right than it would if they had bothered to serve me- I walked out and won’t be going back to an overpriced shop with zero customer service!!
East of England Co-op
Just returned some potatoes that were green & had bruising or similar inside after peeling.
It was already arranged to return them.
When we did so a few days later, we were told you've already had them 12 days. Where does it say faulty food items must be returned within less time than that?
We got them refunded but not without having to stand our ground. Then we learned that they'd had a number of complaints which they had passed on to the their suppliers already, so why the 3rd degree?
Bad stock is bad stock regardless of time held, what about all those that don't take a receipt when you ask them if they want one.
People buy potatoes before they run out, are we expected to sample them on the day of purchase to see if they're up to standard?
Very poor EOE CO-OP not what we've come to expect from you.
Previously gave 5 stars, but frankly this has put our backs up.
Overall staff try to be helpful but the…
Overall staff try to be helpful but the range of foods are at inflated prices and often the least able to afford those prices have no choice other than to shop there. Too many branches in some areas again reduces choice and helps keep inflated costs up.
very poor store
i shop a lot at the co op dereham rd norwich not though choice as very high prices. quite often the shelfs are bare always running out of product today they had no white potatoes and the delivery had just come in only had sacks which older people can not carry so poor quite often no veg at weekend and one packet of ham that looked rotten but still hope to sell it need to get staff who can do the ordering properly very poor store
Saw dereham rd store Norwich Physically threaten lady out her job on 2 September
I was in dereham road store in September 2, and saw a lady staff member being abused by security and store management.
I see her all the time as she's always polite and caring . I was shocked what I saw them do to her.She came on shop floor asking for help from customers as she was being threatened by staff and the store manager had gotten their arc security to physically threaten her. She was lured in to the back store room by store manager and some one I recognize as hr from being in store before. She said she had depression and had been subjected to horrific company abuse as a result and coop setting her up to fire her as a result. They lured this retail assistant away, cornered her and threatened her Physically that if she didn't leave her job she would be physically removed from her job there and then.
It all played out on shop floor. It was taped. This staff member has depression and see store manager, security guard and HR threatening their own staff member to leave job 'or else' be arrested. She was desperate trying to alert help in store. I was horrified as were other customers. She worked at Coleman road store norwich before where I shopped and I know she left there as was being abused by store and team managers. Will NEVER shop at East of England coop again after what I saw them do to her. Abusing their retail assistant. It's family run at both stores I know, and got a reputation for abusing staff. Good job it was all taped. I spoke to her husband after who picks her up sometimes. He says he was scared for her saftey as she was being threatened by managers to leave her job because she had depression. Will never condone stores abusing their staff. Will never shop here again as what I saw them do to her. Thank God she's now safe though .

Coop keeping up the best social distancing care as lockdown eases.
Very pleased that Woodbridge Coop are still taking Covid precautions seriously.
Still feel very safe there.
What an expensive shop!
What an expensive shop! I have only shopped here during Coronavirus because I didn’t have to queue for very long. They also sell a limited range of one product so the cheapest is still more expensive than anywhere else.
Amazing service Co-op, Barrack Road, Woodbridge, Suffolk
Amazing service at local Co-op store this morning: thank you. Very helpful staff members with 5 items £5 deal. Great to have such an excellent, well-stocked store on the doorstep and huge thanks to the staff that work there. Hope the senior management know how fabulous you are and give you a Christmas bonus!

Occasional deal but otherwise rather expensive, unfortunately.
Meredith Greengrass
Booking a funeral can be difficult, with emotions running high, and knowing which company to trust! so I’ll share my experience.
My father died suddenly, and my mother and I were left with the task of the funeral. My mum agonised over what type; burial or cremation, where and by whom! The family home was miles away, and mum, being mostly immobile, agonised over how she could visit a grave. She decided to have dad cremated and to keep the ashes with her until her time eventually came, and they could be interred together.
We chose Meredith Greengrass, of Stowmarket, who are East of England Coop Funeral Services. We made an appointment and went to see them.
We were greeted by Molly; A lady with a charming manner, who sat us down with a cup of tea, and in a little over an hour, went through all the options available to us. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and we went away, comforted that everything was arranged. During the period between the booking up and the Funeral, Molly kept us informed of the progress, and was always at hand to answer any questions we had.
On the day, the funeral cars arrived, we were very impressed on the manners of the company. Led by Daniel, they all treated my mum in a most courteous manner that I have not seen before. Again, its impossible to fault their behaviour, on both the journey to the service and the way home again.
We are so happy with the service we have received, and although I don’t look forward to using them again, will do so without hesitation.
