"Road legal" plates are not. Non-existent customer service

Website was easy to use and plates arrived in good time and of adequate quality.

Sadly despite ordering "road legal" plates, the plates that arrived were not road legal. They are missing the supplier details and BS AU numbers as required by UK law. They also did not require any ID or proof of ownership of the number plate, as required by the DVLA (however this red-flag is not apparent until after the order is placed).

I emailed the company to enquire about getting a set with those details, or returning for a refund and received no response. After a few days I tried to call but they are not accepting calls "due to the ongoing covid 19 pandemic". Yeah right....

Avoid at all cost!!

This company is fraudulent should be avoided at all cost. My husband bought plates as a present to me. Unbeknownst to us, the type we selected are currently illegal. Why the company advertise illegal plates type is beyond me - there are about 3 illegal types on there. Payment went through, no qualms. We’ve been calling the number published on the website but the automated service says all the reps are unavailable due to COVID and that you should send an email to the address on the website, which we did 3 or 4 times. Still no response. It’s been over 30 days now so obviously they’ll say we can’t get a refund. How are they still allowed to operate? There’s no way to contact them, the email provided is just a black hole.

**Avoid**

If you want some plates then order from somewhere else. I ordered plates and paid for 48hour delivery. Recieved order confirmation but no delivery information. A few days past, so I tried to contact them via phone with no answer, I must have rang 50 times over 2 days. Eventually contact was made after a week and I was told the plates would be delivered Saturday. Obviously Saturday came and went, I then tried to call again, 50 attempts later nothing. I emailed and got a response 2 days later. This time I was told again will be delivered Saturday. As previous weekend Saturday came and gone with no delivery. I requested refund and got no response. I then filed a complaint with my bank and got my money back. They actually contacted me after my bank refunded me, asking if I still wanted the plates as the bank had been in contact with then for refund. Honestly worst company I have purchased from, save your time and money.

Stay away

I placed an order since 3 days ago and paid for next day delivery. I phoned easy plates with no response - just voicemail. The only contact was via email . I emailed everyday with no response and I'm yet to receive my number plates. Level of service is a totally appalling and a disgrace. I will stay away from this company.

No contact details supplied: In breach of regulations

I placed an order with Easy Plates online and all was very straightforward. The money was paid via Paypal. After checking the confirmation email I could not find any contact address or telephone number. It seems contact in every instance is via an email address only. That concerned me enough to cancel my order. whilst I could. All credit to them in that they have refunded the money promptly without issue. Neverethess I would be cautious about doing business with a company that does not or will not supply address or telephone contact details (for whatever reason). It is so easy for anyone including a business if they have duplicitous motives to close an email account and bang.. you have lost all contact routes and potentially your money. I am sorry Easy-Plates, but in this day and age of identity theft and money laundering, it pays to be careful. A brief phone call with Citizens Advice Consumer Services this morning concurs that (whilst not illegal), it is not recommended to place business or send money to a business who is reluctant to provide addresses or contact numbers for obvious reasons. I am sure Easy-Plates do provide an excellent service to their customers but I see no legitimate reason as to why they will not provide contact address details at the very least. I am just being cautious...Further update 16th March 2021:
The government website "gov.online-and-distance-selling-for-businesses" refers as follows

The product provider must provide "their business name, contact details and ADDRESS... ".

It seems Easy plates as well as not providing a contact number (email only), they are unwilling to provide an address either. The address issue is in clear breach of the Online and distance selling regulations 2014
