If I could give this site 0 I would

If I could give this site 0 I would. Returning to UK on Saturday from a 6 week stay in Normandy I found 3 demands for payment of bill plus threat of disconnection. Unlike with other utility companies it appears impossible to set up a ‘espace personnelle’ as non French national. Repeated attempts to pay with French ‘carte bancaire’ failed miserably and eventually I had to spend 40 minutes on the phone trying to communicate account information and to give details of bank card. Fortunately I speak excellent French, unfortunately as a former cancer sufferer, my voice is very weak. However eventually we got there and the very patient and polite agent with whom I was communicating, was as pleased as myself when the money finally went through. Imagine my dismay, therefore, when my French neighbour who contacted Veolia on a different matter (changing the meter), told me the bill of January hadn’t been paid! In a panic I immediately checked bank account, but €149.13 had been taken yesterday. This company is absolutely awful. At first I thought it was my incompetence but having read the reviews, I am surprised they have not been regulated in some way. Can they just do as they please?
They pretend to be concerned and reply (see below) but nothing happens. I’ve heard nothing more.

Imputer illegalement le non-paiement a l'IBAN

Bonjour Veolia,
J'ai envoyé de nombreuses informations pour montrer que le trop-perçu impayé de 153,33 euros reste en cours de votre part depuis octobre 2025. Vous n'avez pas répondu après avoir reçu mon relevé bancaire et la copie de l'email de WISE Bank (un compte en euros basé en Belgique) montrant que je n'ai pas reçu le remboursement.
Je vous ai envoyé mes coordonnées bancaires à plusieurs reprises et j'ai montré mes relevés bancaires pour prouver que vous ne m'avez pas payé.
Après plusieurs mois, votre entreprise utilise maintenant l'excuse que ma banque n'accepte pas le paiement depuis votre compte bancaire. En plus du fait que j'ai contacté ma banque (qui est un compte en euros appelé WISE basé en Belgique), ce n'est pas le cas. Vous avez ignoré les informations de ma banque que je vous ai transmises.
J'ai contacté ma banque WISE, qui est un compte en euros basé en Belgique. Ils ont stipulé que si votre entreprise n'accepte pas l'IBAN BE, alors vous enfreignez les réglementations SEPA. Votre entreprise est tenue d'accepter les IBAN d'autres pays de la zone SEPA dans la zone SEPA conformément à l'article 9 du Règlement SEPA.
Comme il s'agit d'informations nouvelles de ma banque, je vous donnerai la possibilité de me rembourser d'ici le 1er avril 2026. Si vous continuez à ne pas répondre ou si vous n'êtes pas d'accord, je vous signalerai aux autorités IBAN (Accept My IBAN org) début avril car il s'agit d'une discrimination envers l'IBAN et je transmettrai mon dossier au médiateur de l'eau comme indiqué précédemment.
Je publierai également ces informations sur Trustpilot.

Hello Veolia,
I have sent much information to show that the outstanding overpayment of 153.33 euros continues to be outstanding by yourselves since October 2025. You have failed to respond after receiving my bank statement and copy of the email from WISE bank ( a euro account based in Belgium) showing that I have not received the reimbursement.
I have sent you my bank details repeatedly and I have shown my bank statements to prove you have not paid me.
After many months your company is now using the excuse that my bank is not accepting the payment from your company bank account. Further to me contacting my bank (which is a euro account called WISE based in Belgium) this is not the true. You have ignored the information from my bank that I forwarded to you.
I have contacted my WISE bank which is a euro account based in Belgium. They have stipulated that if your company is not accepting the BE IBAN then you are in breach of SEPA regulations. Your company is required to accept IBANs from other countries in the SEPA zone in the SEPA zone according to Article 9 of the SEPA Regulation.
As this is new information from my bank I shall give you the opportunity to refund me by 1st April 2026. If you continue not to reply or don't agree, I will be reporting you to the IBAN authorities (Accept My IBAN organisation) at the beginning of April because this is IBAN discrimination and I will be forwarding my case to the water ombudsman as stated before.
I will also be posting this information onto Trustpilot.

Where is my refund????

Veolia overcharged us by almost 200euros in August 2025. After probably 20 plus emails which go to a different customer service advisor each time. we are still waiting for our refund.
They have the audacity to threaten take legal proceedings as we have not paid the next bill which is much less than they owe us.
Appalling

Veolia México has a terrible customer…

Veolia México has a terrible customer service. Once you buy the water treatment plant they are not interested in servicing or repairing it. Just want to make fast money selling expensive solutions and will not respond when the system fails as they don’t make money on customer service.

Veolia is a French company and thus is responsible for all operations worldwide. It seems they not only clean water but they also wash their hands from their subsidiaries issues.

Nothing new here, customer is always wrong. Sloppy workforce. Admin equally bad. Their accounts can't add up or compare graphs.Due diligence doesn't compute in French. Poor poor and minus poor.

Dreadful if you don’t live in France it…

Dreadful if you don’t live in France it does not accept contact numbers which are not French and further more trying to pay a bill on line with a credit card is a nightmare

If I was able to leave a zero star review, I would!
We were changed over compulsorily from SDeau50 on 1 Jan 2025- we'd never had any probs with SDeau50.
Veolia have been a big pain since day 1. Told us the change would be seamless, and they'd sort it all out, the prelevement (DD) info from SDeau50 etc. Nothing doing! Then we get a large bill in June, billing from July 2024! - I'm not paying for the same water twice Veolia! So ignored the bill, then get another bill in July for less as they realised they make an error! Veolia have made up a fictious email address for us and despite our engagement to them by email and Their promise of reconciliation, they have done nothing! We've even paid a handholder to phone Veolia sort out the problem of logging into our online account and Veolia have still done nothing to resolve the issue.
Veolia, you don't fill me with any confidence whatsoever, I've experienced poor service from you.
You will have to bill me by paper for the future and you've no chance of me paying by prelevement, ever.

This is why a monopoly should not be allowed

I asked Veolia for a final meter reading and was told that the meter had been read and that I had used in excess of 300 litres per day. That surprised a wee bit as their (so called drinking) water is only used to flush a toilet and wash the dishes of one person. Everthing else is done at a friends house.
Assuming that such a gigantic organisation would not lie to me I have come to the conclusion that I have subconsciously been eating umpteen plates of food per day causing me serious bowel problems.
They do not respond to letters unless registered, costing near on 7euro, and cannot find a direct email to contact them.
So! am I being lied to or is Veolia fitting faulty meters to bolster profits?
So Veolia you asked for my details in order to sort this out, which I supplied immediately.
Your reaction NOTHING.
I would like an explanation. I asked for a meter reading because I was leaving the property. I received an email saying that that the meter had been read and miraculously I had used 4,000 litres after turning the supply off.
So Veolia explain that to me and others that use this forum
Yes you send emails, emails that cannot be replied to, no customer service to speak of, a bilingual friend spent over twenty minutes of his lunch hour waiting for an answer. No response to letters I had to send two by registered mail at a cost of over 14euro.
This is a company that seems to have no social conscience at all, they took the Egyptian government to court to try and not pay Egyptian workers minimum pay, our road was the only one in the village where the lead pipes were not replaced for years after the rest of the village and they have the audacity to call it drinking water on the invoice. I do not know of anyone in the village who drinks it.
I know that Veolia likes to borrow money interest free, but I for one have no intention of loaning them any of mine.
The house has been unoccupied and the water disconnected since July 2023 and yet they still send out bills. I am not fully conversant with French law but I would have thought that demanding payment for something that one has not had is fraud and then to demand payment for something that one has not had under the threat of legal action in UK law is called “demanding money with menaces” or to put it simply BLACKMAIL.
So to the crux of the matter, it is simple, read the meter get paid do not read the meter do not get paid.

Veolia is bullying my parents in law

I cannot believe how cruel veolia is. This company has been bullying my elderly parents in law in France for over a year now. Their particular dispute with veolia is in mediation via their social worker. Veolia has not been responding in any way shape or form and just has sent bayliffs (without warning /letters /calls) to their home, where my father in law is in bed dying. Shame on you!!!!

Veolia France Useless

This is a review of Veolia France as a water supplier. Probably the worst utility company it has ever been my misfortune to deal with.
To give just two examples. Firstly our bill for the second half of 2023 was received on 27th December with a deadline for payment of 2 January 2024. We posted the cheque in payment of the bill the same day.
Not surprisingly our cheque was delayed so then the reminders start. Veolia acknowleged receipt of the cheque on 15th January 2024! We discovered this after the usual 20 minute delay at the call centre.
Secondly to avoid future problems we tried to open an on line account. Guess what? We get an error message on each attempt (5 in all).
I have provided Veolia with my client number (at their request) and am awaiting a detailed response. Their initial responses contained the usual platitudes
Update: cheque in payment presented to our bank on 19th January 2024. Letter dated 15th January 2024 received 23rd January chasing payment! No reply to my initial review. Does the entire organisation share one brain?

Disgusting smell

This company has the contract to run the seafield sewage plant in Edinburgh and right now there is a disgusting stench that has extended miles from the actual source.

It was supposed to have been dealt with in 2007 but here we are still having to suffer this.

Another example of an outsourced company caring more about profits than doing their job.
