do not buy from here

I bought a BMW X3 from Echo Park on 9/1, and after being there for over 8 exhausting hours, I drove home feeling excited but drained. The next day, I had to leave for a work trip to Santa Fe, so I didn’t get a good look at the car. When I got back Friday morning, I started noticing damage: a cracked bumper, spray-painted rear panels, a cracked light, and the back liner falling apart. To top it off, the rear camera went completely dark at night, almost causing me to hit a pedestrian.

Frustrated and anxious, I immediately contacted my sales agent, Christy Banks. My texts went unanswered when I asked to speak to a manager, and when I finally got in touch with someone from customer service—Rachel—her rude response was to suggest that I might’ve caused the damage myself. After repeated calls, I spoke to Ben, who claimed to be a manager but gave me no real help or options. His indifference only added to my frustration.

By this point, I was exhausted. I’d spent hours dealing with a car that should’ve never been sold in the first place, and still, no one at Echo Park seemed to care. When I shared my concerns about the rear camera not working properly, Christy told me to bring the car in, promising Paul would take care of me. After waiting 30 minutes with no assistance, Paul simply handed me back to Christy. I felt stuck, like I had no choice but to pick another car, despite there being nothing in my price range. I ended up with a more expensive car, and they wouldn’t budge on the price. I felt completely defeated—trapped into making a decision I didn’t want to make.

The next morning, just when I thought things couldn’t get worse, the service light came on in the new car, and I found more damage that I must’ve missed. I had been at the dealership from 10:30 AM until nearly 8 PM the day before, with no food, no ride, and no explanation for why the process was taking so long. I missed an important appointment and left feeling completely drained.

After expressing my frustrations and concerns, Christy casually suggested I could trade in my SUV in a few months—an absurd suggestion since I’d be upside down on the payments. Who even suggests that? It felt like a slap in the face after everything I had already been through. This whole ordeal has been an exhausting waste of time that I’ll never get back. The hours spent at the dealership, the constant chasing for answers, the complete lack of communication and care—it’s been nothing short of a nightmare.

Echo Park’s promises are empty, and their so-called standards are a joke. This experience has left me frustrated, exhausted, and without a shred of faith in this company. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.. I still haven’t spoken to a manager.

The Devil is in the details!

This company buys nice used cars, usually from rental companies. If you are buying straight out, you can purchase a low mileage car for a reasonable price. They do not accept any form of payment accept cashier's check. Really, really watch all the hidden fees. Numerous times in the conversation with salesman, items were mentioned that would be included in the deal supposedly at no extra cost. When the paper work was drawn up, about $5000 Xtra bogus fees were thrown in. Was able to have all but two removed. One for catalytic converter theft which makes no sense due to converter still being obviously in tact while signing the papers and the other for some kind of coating that had already been applied. Bird urine or something of the nature. Their finance rates are ridiculous so finance elsewhere if you need to. Hope this helps someone in their decision making.

If I can give a 0 I would

If I can give a 0 I would, Worst company ever, I did a purchase online and scheduled to go pick up the car and when I showed up there was no car! They said it sold out and they blame it on the system you can tell there is something fishy there, just wasted my time and now waiting for my refund, they didn’t even care for your time! Sales and management are playing games!

No title after two months!

At first we loved the atmosphere and the people we worked with at EchoPark when buying our new car. That ended very quickly when we only drove away with a permit to move the vehicle, even after asking for the title three times so we could register the car ourselves. They assured us they would register it for us and took our registration and tax fees right there at the dealership. We were told to expect our plates and registration within a week. After a month of no plates or registration and asking EchoPark where they were, we were continually told they were working with the DMV as quickly as possible to get the registration for us. Now we are past two months and still no registration. We legally cannot drive our new car and we have now been ghosted by EchoPark. We are left working with the BBB to try and resolve this. After no resolution through the BBB we are now hiring an attorney to recover costs involved in transporting my wife to and from work for the last two months since she is unable to drive the car we purchased from EchoPark. NO dealership should ever sell a car without a title in hand. We had law enforcement look up where our title was and it still shows that it is registered in California. EchoPark may have some good reviews but before you even drive your car off the lot ask them to SHOW you the actual title, not a photo copy. DO NOT purchase a car from EchoPark or drive it off the lot without a full registration in hand.

Bought a car in February and August

Bought a car in February and August . February I choose the car and went to buy. They don't take personal check , don't take wire transfer. So I have to go back next day with cashier check . They still don't deliver my car. The reason they can't verify with my bank about the check. I called the bank right in front of them and verified in two minutes . They don't want any one to pay full price for the car . They make the money by financing thru them and selling extra warranty.
Last week I spotted a car and went to buy . Again waited almost 5 hours and no paper work done. Finally sales person come with paper and said this car is fully protected and ready to sign the paper . I asked what do you mean my fully protected. They included warrant and appearance protection in the contract . I told them I don't want that and you did not ask me if I wanted it at all. They went back again. I rated them a one star while they redoing the paper and waiting. Then all the managers come out and mad why I give them a one star. Basically they lower the price to lure in people to upsell other products to make profits.

Sad and Skeptical ... Bad Form EchoPark Automotive

Support after Sale ? FORGET IT ... called 5 times post sale and never got a call back. Commented to Corporate via "Contact Us" they responded but ZERO follow up by the local Houston Dealership including the GM !! and that 190 Point Inspection WHAT A JOKE, my printed copy was obviously pencil whipped, checking OK for features my vehicle doesnt even have !! they skipped over 2 bad tires, leaky shocks, one worthless windshield wiper ... paperwork review after the sale has a different damage report than the one I got online.... I'm very worried I have bought someone elses problem.... now I will say when called on the tires and shocks it got fixed at the expense of to afternoons time on my part ... thats the 2 stars

Great dealership for used vehicles!!

Echo Park is a very clean and comfortable dealership to do your car shopping in. No price haggling. Everything is done on a tablet so it makes it so quick and easy to complete the buying process. The staff were great. The only issue I had is the vehicle I found online had to be pulled from behind the lot. It definitely hadn’t been detailed yet. And four weeks later I realized the alignment was so badly off the left front had been warn to the radials on the inside of the tire. Always check wear on tires before buying. Have them replace the tires if necessary.

These people are crooks

These people are crooks. Traded in a car and bought a new one from them. They didn’t pay off my trade for over 30 days, causing me to have to make a payment on a vehicle I don’t own anymore. Because I made the payment the amount they paid off was less than the agreed amount on the buyer’s order. They owe me over $500 and still haven’t paid me, it’s been over 35 days. Keep getting the run around

Possible scammers

They offered us $10,400 for our Forester. When we took it in, they lowballed us an offer of $7000. Reasons were paint was bad on over 50% of car, needed a windshield and it had a bent front crash bar. My mechanic calls the paint and crash bar bogus and the windshield a maybe based on if the chip can be fixed or not. Needless to say we had refused their offer.

Go anywhere else!!

Wow!! This place has TERRIBLE service. We found a car we liked, had a loan all ready to go with our bank who was a bank lender they use and they refused to sell the car to us. They wanted us to fill out additional credit app - which we did and then they wanted us to choose terms with another bank. What!? We were told by our bank that all we needed to do was sign the title and the deal was done. That was not the case. We waited for 3 hours-jumped through their hoops to be told they won’t sign the title over and they won’t accept the loan that was provided by our bank!!! Stay far away from this dealership. I know we won’t be back and we will tell EVERYONE we know of our experience here. Go anywhere else!!!!!

STAY AWAY

I purchased a 2018 BMW 430i last September. On my way home from Dallas (I live in OKC) I started to notice that my AC was blowing hot air..... I had a warranty through Echo Park for the first 3 months after purchase, so I took it to their mechanic partner Pep Boys. I was told that my freon levels were low, so they filled it up and I thought all was good. Now since the temperatures are rising, I once again noticed that my AC was blowing hot air. Well, it looks like there is a leak in the AC condenser and this is how they sold the car to me. I will now have to spend upwards of over 2k to fix this issue after being told by the dealership that there were no flaws with the car, and it was 100% inspected. I will never use this dealership again and I do not recommend anyone using this scummy dealership. I bought a high-end car for over retail and they either didn't check or didn't disclose that there was a leak in the condenser???

Went into the EchoPark facility in…Chesterfield MO. Don’t bother.

Went into the EchoPark facility in Chesterfield MO today. It was similar to going into the DMV. Waited to see someone even though I had an appointment. Told me it would be 30 minutes. 45 minutes later I still had no answer. Then later got a text for about 1/2 the retail value for my vehicle. Kind of insulting. I’m wondering if this place will be open very long? Wondering if it’s government sponsored or something as it appears to be finished worse than most government buildings.

Had a terrible experience with this…

Had a terrible experience with this dealership in Charlotte, NC. The vehicle purchased was a lemon and we had to pay $1,000 to have it towed back to the dealership due to their mileage rule, as we lived three hours away. The air conditioner was not working properly on one side. The vehicle handled horribly with speed and felt like it was out of control. There was also a repaired crack in the windshield. We did not see this, as it was raining the day we purchased and could not see it. Proceed with GREAT caution....the people you will talk to you don't actually know anything about the vehicle they are selling you. The test drive route they give you, does not allow you to get over 55 mph to fully see how a car handles.

Great Service

My daughter purchased a car at EchoPark and was very pleased with the experience. I went a week later and purchased a car. Shikar (Shaq) Hawramy, Experience Manager, was top notch, very helpful and knowledgeable. The best experience I’ve ever had purchasing a vehicle.

FLASHING BUYER BEWARE SIGN

I went to echo Park Henderson Nevada April 5th to purchase a 2020 Nissan kicks Sr (I'll tell you what that really stands for later) with 56,000 miles for the low low price of $16,189. That day in Nevada just happened to be cloudy cold rainy and not a great day to look at a car but I knew I had 7 Days 250 miles return policy. The $3,000 below manufacturer suggested retail price is quickly filled in with add-ons and service warranty which cost $3,000. It stated all of that was optional but the dent and paint and the catalytic converter theft thing we're already figured in when he brought me the finance sheets. Just that was $4,500 then the document fee since Nevada doesn't have a cap on it they chose $699 then title then smog so it got up to the 19,000 and something and I wanted to finance a little bit of it but my credit isn't that great my interest rate was high so by the time I got done I looked at the final sale it was $31,000 and some change twice what the car initially started out as. I had the money to pay off the balance if I decided to keep the car. Okay red flag number one when I called progressive to get my quote I had progressive before no accidents had one ticket for unlawful use of a cell phone the girl came back and said oh I've never seen this before the underwriter wants this paid 6 months in full a total of $2,443 over $400 a month. I quickly found another insurance company and out the door I went Sunday was the first day I could go over the car first thing I noticed was a small dent over the passenger side tire well also I could see sanding marks that were painted over door gaps were off on passenger side overspray on the bumper tail lights one was flush to the quarter panel one was sticking up driver side was the worst the bottom front gap of the door literally was touching each other and at the top it was about quarter inch Gap, Hood alignment was off I checked the dates on the headlights they were both the same date the car was from Laguna Beach one owner no accidents on Carfax had the car serviced every 7000 miles oil change tires rotated I would expect to see some corrosion from sea salt on the metal parts but also noticed a lot of the plastic parts were brand new obviously this car was in an accident they didn't go through the insurance company took the money and got it cheaply fixed and then sold it and it made its way to Nevada. Monday while driving it back to the dealership the accident avoidance system malfunctioned and froze on the dash all the lights were lit up so the thing that's supposed to help me avoid an accident actually had an accident. I took a picture of it just in case it disappeared when I shut the car off at the dealership went inside told him I was bringing the car back it had been in an accident he said they don't buy cars in accidents I said well actually you do didn't ask me to come out with him you would think he would and then another guy went out so I went out. I pointed it out the door gaps the overspray the sand marks he told me even new cars have door gaps that look like that I said no they don't. One of the guys came over to me not sure his position cuz they don't tell you and said the mistake you made was buying a Nissan they're not a very reliable car kind of a POS I told him I owned a Nissan truck lived in Vermont great car great in the snow and the only piece of s*** I ever owned that was a Nissan is sitting in your parking lot. I guess he was a floor manager came over and said what do you want to do I said I want to return the car he said fine proceeded to tell me how they do their 190 point inspection how the cars are thoroughly gone over. I said well it was a189 point inspection because nobody checked the glove box and in that glove box was the tear off of the temporary placard with the guy's name on it who bought the car March 27th and obviously returned it. SR = second return . I was told they can refund the money to my debit card they would have to issue me a check I got the check on the 11th my bank put a hold on it and then today I noticed they extended the hold another 5 days so now I can't get my money until April 20th because nobody wants to guarantee this check. Why would they issue a third party check it comes from Charlotte North Carolina then the issuer it has echo Park Henderson and then the pay to is me. You can't speak to anybody there's no direct lines to the dealership unless you have the person who helped you their carved every number they give you just brings you back to the same place. They don't care that I'm trying to get a car because the car is not coming from them. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ECHO PARK

Be aware of the superfine print

Be aware of the superfine print! We saw a deal listed as "Great" for the car we were interested in buying, and visited Echo Park to test drive/buy the car. It wasn't until we asked for the purchase order that we discovered an added fee for some "Paint Protection". NOT listed on the Autotrader ad - apparently is IS listed on Echo Park's website... if you scroll all the way to the bottom. They refused to remove the fee.
