Amazing experience with fantastic company

The gorilla trekking experience with Eco Safaris was amazing. I was very afraid at the beginning to pay everything in advance, but this company is trusted and has a high level of service! We did two days of trekking in Bwindi forest and everything was perfect. We got an amazing driver, Abdul, who picked us at the airport in Kigali and drove us around until Bwindi forest. He was very flexible with everything we wanted. Very carismatic person. We also stayed in a marvelous lodge/hotel called Gorilla Leisure Lodge, which was amazing!! I can't recommend this experience more. It was awesome, we saw the gorillas and stayed in a fantastic hotel with all inclusive. I cannot wait to go back someday. And a big thank you to Patrick, who sommunciated all the time with us and helped with all of our questions.

Best value for money!

Eco Adventure Safaris were the cheapest quote we got for the Gorilla trekking in Bwindi and they did an excellent job of organising our permits and making sure our time in Bwindi and our stay for one night went smoothly. Right from the time I started messaging Michelle, she was very professional and prompt with her replies and answered all my doubts clearly. Our driver Abdul was really great. He was friendly and kind and we felt very safe driving with him.
He was a wealth of information and made our crossover into Uganda from Rwanda so easy. Having Abdul as our driver made all the difference!

Perfect low budget gorilla trip

Amazing experience, well organised by Patrick and his team. Patrick since the beginning was 24h/24h at disposal to detailly organize our trip according to our desires and timetable. Our driver Godfrey was always on time, kind and supportive. All the hotels booked had a real positive quality-price ratio, considering both our low budget expectations and the fact that in general this tour can't bee too cheap due to the anavoidable expensive government permits. Delicious food and reliable/suitable safari car.
We were lucky with the weather (almost always sunny) even if April should have been the worst month of the rainy season.
My friends and I highly recommend this trip with this travel company!

Incredible Chimpanzee and Gorilla Tracking Experience

Thank you Eco Adventure Safaris for a truly unforgettable experience. Our 5 day chimpanzee and gorilla tracking adventure was so much more than we could have ever imagined. Being up close and personal with chimpanzees in Kibale National Park and sitting quietly with gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest was awe inspiring. I don't even have the words to describe it!

Thank you to Patrick and Charles (our guide) for going above and beyond and making my 60th Birthday celebrations to special!

An Unforgettable Ugandan Adventure – Well Organized and Deeply Immersive

My experience with Eco Adventure Safaris was great. Coordination with Patrick ahead of the trip was seamless—he was incredibly responsive, answered all my questions thoroughly, and provided a decent quote. His helpfulness made planning this adventure easy and stress-free.

Once on the trip, I couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Edgar. He was not only an excellent driver but also great company throughout. His knowledge of Uganda added so much depth to our journey. Amazingly, he seemed to know every road, turn, and hidden gem without ever needing a map. Thanks to him, I felt like I was truly experiencing the country, beyond just the typical tourist spots. Also, being a female solo traveler, I had to admit I was nervous, but I quickly felt safe and taken care of with Edgar, which I really appreciate. And, after all the time we spent together, I feel like I left Uganda with a new friend.

The gorilla trek was nothing short of awe-inspiring—a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. I will never forget it. The rangers and porters were wonderful, and Edgar made sure I was placed in the group level I preferred, which made the experience even more special.

Beyond the trek, we visited a local banana beer and coffee farm, where we got to see traditional production methods firsthand and enjoy tastings. It was a beautiful way to connect with the local community and support small farming businesses.

We also took a stunning boat tour on Lake Bunyonyi. The peaceful waters and breathtaking scenery made for the perfect way to unwind and soak in Uganda’s natural beauty.

I highly recommend Edgar and Eco Adventure Safaris for anyone looking for a well-organized, enriching, and unforgettable trip. Thank you, Patrick and Edgar, for making this such a memorable adventure!

Awesome 11 day tour around Uganda for our wedding anniversary…

The Eco Adventure Safaris team helped to put together an amazing 11 day tour around Uganda. They organized it all very well and as agreed and the communication was smooth and fast.

We came to them with a few ideas and plans, and they were flexible and patient and continued to provide ideas and suggestions.

The payment process was easy via bank transfer too.

We visited Murchison Falls NP, tracked chimpanzees in Kibale NP, got to see more wildlife in Queen Elizabeth NP and then had 3 nights in Bwindi to track gorillas one day and go on a habituation track the next. On the way back to Kampala we also had a night in Lake Mburo NP.

Our tour was made extra special because of the driver/guide we were assigned. Silas was absolutely amazing! He connected with us the night before departure and straight away made some extra suggestions for our tour that helped us to get the best possible experience. And he kept on doing this throughout, helping us out a lot!

And then when we started the game drives we found out that he has huge knowledge about all the animals and the ability to spot animals even when they are far away.

We were so blessed to have Silas looking after us and feel like we have made a friend for life!

Most perfect trip ever - Gorillas and Safari tick!

Best trip ever – We cannot thank the Eco Adventure Safaris Team enough. Just simply Wow.

Our 5 day Gorilla trekking in Uganda and Safari in Rwanda, February 1st 2025.

I contacted EAS as I wanted to plan my goal of a lifetime to see the Mountain Gorillas in Uganda/Rwanda. Michelle came straight back to me and between us we settled upon the itinerary that included everything I wanted to do plus more. I only had a 5 day window available flying from the UK so it wasn’t straightforward considering the miles travelled! Her knowledge and recommendations made the difference between a great trip and an amazing trip. I was always kept up to date with the booking progress and felt 100% confident in the company.

We were met at Kigali Airport by our guide for the trip, Godfrey. He made us feel so welcome from our first meeting to our sad goodbye 5 days later. What an absolute asset to Eco Adventure. His love of his country and his work was admirable. He always made sure we were happy, comfortable, seeing everything we wanted to plus a couple of suggestions of his own. The Pop-up roof 4x4 safari vehicle was just for us for the whole trip which was amazing. Very comfortable (even the 10 hour drive from Uganda to Akagera!). There was always water on hand and power for phones/cameras if needed. He was a star and we wish him all the very best and will be asking for him next time we safari!

We spent two days Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the first day was on the 4 hour un-habituated tour on which only my wife and I were hosted. The second was the one hour habituated tour with just 6 other guests. Both were very different but equally amazing experiences. If you can – do both! To be in the presence of the Gorillas is something we will never forget and we do plan to return.

We then travelled to the Akagera National Park in Rwanda for 2 days of Safari plus a little downtime. Riding around in the open top 4x4 was great fun and EAS even provided a park guide for the first day to help us spot even more of the wildlife. We got to see the ‘Big 5’ which Godfrey went out of his way to make happen as the Rhino’s were very elusive. We also took the sunset cruise in the park which was extremely relaxing and brought us closer to more wildlife.

We stayed at the Rushaga Gorilla Lodge, the Akagera Rhino Lodge and Michelle upgraded us for free on our final night to the Akagera Game Lodge which was luxurious and allowed us the final afternoon to stay round the pool and relax, not checking out until 5pm.

I cannot recommend Eco Adventure Safaris highly enough. We will book with them again without hesitation and will be recommending them to all of our friends with plans to travel to their part of the world. Thank you. Sam & Lyn

Primates Tour Uganda

Eco Adventure Safari is the gold standard of professionalism in Uganda. Great tour/lodge suggestions, great cars/drivers, safe and reliable at all times and wonderful nature experiences with the chosen guides/trackers and guards. We did 10 days Gorillas, Golden Monkeys and Chimpanzees in the south-western national parks very close to DRC and Rwanda. Mastermind behind all this organizing, coordinating and following up was Patrick from Ecosafari - big 🙏🤗

Amazing experience

We took part in a 3-days trip to Uganda Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (gorilla tracking) from Kigali with our amazing guide from Eco Adventures Safaris - Edgar :)

Edgar organized everything for us and even suggested some additional activities in Uganda that gave us a chance to have a deeper insight into the lives of some people in Uganda and their cultures. We additionally visited Lake Bunyoni and Village of Batwa people.

Our guide was always well organized, on time and was a great driver in the harsh off road circumstances. He answered all of our even the most detailed questions :)

Totally recommended to travel with Eco Adventures Safaris and Edgar.

Best Animal experience ever

Just returned from Uganda we had an experience of our life. Elias our driver was terrific, driving safely, provided us with good laughs, a lot useful information about Uganda, the people, the fauna and everybody were so kind and helpful. We stayed at beautiful lodges (Buhoma and Papaya Lake) AND what a meeting we had with a 17 member family of mountain gorillas - that was amazing. We also did the chimpanzee tour, however we did not get that close to them, but is was an exiting tour as Well. We also visited the BATWA Pygmees from the Buhoma Lodge - met the king and got an introduction to the life of the Pygmees - highly recommended as well.

Amazing 5 days

My parents and I had a great 5 day tour of Uganda that included Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park. It worked very well booking directly with a local company. We directly corresponded with Patrick, who was very responsive with communication and answered all our questions. Our guide and driver was Apolo, who was very friendly and attentive and accommodated a last minute change in itinerary to include a stop at the Southern end of Queen Elizabeth National Park (Ishasha) and a city tour of Kampala. Visiting Ishasha was a definite highlight, as we saw Julia the tree lion. Other highlights included seeing the Tindatine family of mountain gorillas in Bwindi, having local guides at each location, great food at all locations but especially Simba Cafe and great accommodation. Would highly recommend booking through Eco Adventure Safaris.

Trip of a lifetime!

Where do we even begin?!?

We knew we wanted to visit somewhere in Africa but were overwhelmed where to go and what tour operator to go through given there are so many options at different prices…but oh are we glad that we found Eco Adventure Safaris!

From day one Patrick was amazing, very responsive and so full of ideas (he gave us options we weren’t aware even existed so that we could get the true African adventure!) Whilst Eco Adventure Safaris operate in many different countries, we decided on a 9 day trip to Uganda and were absolutely blown away by the itinerary he pulled together for us! We experienced everything and more we ever could have dreamed of thanks to Patrick and our guide Silas and cannot thank them enough.

We felt completely safe throughout the whole process and throughout our time in Uganda; Silas is an absolute gem who went above and beyond to make us feel so special (if you are lucky enough to have Silas as your guide, you’re in for and absolute treat and will likely make a friend for life!)

The attention to detail the whole team have is beyond amazing and the local knowledge they have is sure to make your trip so much more special and unique than the larger tour operators (we were so thankful to have decided on a private tour for many reasons including the flexibility and personalisation). Overall, nothing we asked seemed like it was too much trouble (for example on our final night we decided to change accommodation on the day to be closer to the rhinos, Silas and Patrick went above and beyond to arrange this for us without any interruption to our day which we are so thankful for).

We cannot wait to come back one day, and will for sure be using Eco Adventure Safaris, and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them to anyone!

Great experience, would recommend

We spent 8 days with Eco Adventure in Uganda and were more than happy with our experience. From the beginning Patrick was very helpful and responsive, answered every question quickly and put together the perfect itinerary according to our wishes. We went to several different national parks and to see the chimpanzees and gorillas. Seeing the primates in the wild was one of the best things we have ever done and such a special experience.
The lodges they chose were all very nice (especially Aardvark), most of them using renewable energy, helping the local community and using fresh local food. The service at the lodges was always great.
Our guide Ronnie had many years of experience which really paid off since he knew the best places in the parks to spot the animals and had lots of interesting information and stories to share. We had a big and comfortable 4x4 drive, which made the long drives feel much shorter.
Overall we were very happy with our experience, had an unforgettable time and would book a trip with Eco Adventure again anytime.

Beautiful Uganda, birding paradise

For a long time I have wanted to go to Uganda to photograph the Shoebills at Mabamba Swamp and wild Gorillas, many times I have been put off by the UK government's advice page on travelling abroad saying its dangerous and risky, not to go unless it's absolutely necessary, however as I get older I decided to ignore that advice and go before I am less able (70 next year) I had some great links to Uganda based safari companies from an ecologist friend who has recently worked in Uganda. ECO Adventure Safaris were the most helpful right from my first enquiry, Patrick is the most helpful person I have dealt with when organising trips, he offered suggestions and was incredibly flexible, my initial 10 day plan evolvolved in 19 days as I added extra locations I wanted to visit, I did get some quotes from elsewhere as I planned but ECO proved to be the most competetive. I wanted to go solo to have the ability to spend time with whatever wildlife I saw so I got the best photo oportunities, this was made even better by being paired with Elias my driver guide who is a very competent birder, with his help I got 14 lifers and 9 endemic species and photographs of them too!
Every day was a new adventure, some aspects very unexpected such as being stuck in dreadfully muddy roads after heavy rain. I had the most amazing time and have over 15,000 images to edit as a result.
As for the UK Government's warnings, ignore them, Uganda is a beautiful country and everyone I met was incredibly friendly and at no time did I feel threatened or at risk.
Go it's an amazing place, use ECO, Patrick is fantastic and flexble with your needs, the vehicles are tough and well equiped so you can charge camera batteries and phones in them, also has a fridge with cold drinks... and you will need them. I will soon be planning another visit. A huge thank you to both Patrick and Elias.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you and your team for all your time and support with my parents. They loved their time in Bwindi and felt very warmly welcomed. They really enjoyed the company of Pascal the driver and they wanted to highlight his excellent work.
