Breach of guidelines
Terrible experience transferring domain and website
It was easy opening a new account. However, everything else about transferring a domain and moving a self hosted website was a nightmare, and I'm far from a beginner.
Moving a .uk domain to them required the assistance of support, due to errors and omissions on the relevant page.
Then the welcome email was plain wrong - wrong links, wrong user details, wrong ftp host; the guides linked to in that email were different, but also wrong. Numerous mentions to cPanel to manage the domain/hosting, just plain wrong it turns out, cPanel is not used.
A job that should have taken 30 minutes took two hours of detective work, with no response from support during that time. To be fair Support have been polite and honest in admitting the failures, but too late to be of much help, and I shouldn't have needed them at all for such a simple task.
What documentation there is, is rife with errors and inconsistencies. Even once I fought my way through to a working site, some links on the dashboard are broken, and others work yet report that they didn't (if you're reading this, support, check out email forwarding). Tip for users: the most correct up-to-date information appears to be the knowledgebase link under "support" in the your client area home page.
It's also really unclear who one is dealing with. Ecowebhosting or Host Presto or somebody else? As with the technical matters, the various elements of documentation are muddled and contradictory. I paid for"ecowebhosting" but there is zero evidence that I have a distinct product with any sustainability credentials as ecowebhosting seems to be some sort of alias for Enix, a company that bought it earlier in the year. The "Green Cred" page on the website is over 2 years out of date and the "Monthly Sustainability Report" is a 404 page not found.
I've paid upfront for a year's hosting, alas, but I can't see any reason I would chose to pay for a second unless there are huge changes.
One star is just about merited because although the whole getting sorted business is terrible, the actual site seems to be working well. Also because zero stars isn't possible.
I AM ON THE VERGE OF LEAVING
I AM ON THE VERGE OF LEAVING! Having problems almost on a daily basis with emails not always connecting. Clients receiving "digital signature isn't valid or trusted" messages. How long will this carry on for? EVERYTHING WAS FINE BEFORE THE UPGRADED SERVERS!
Since the migration
Since the migration, the website has not worked properly for 4-5 months.
Wordpress hosting
I think they are good for WordPress hosting if you wish. The environment seems to be optimized for such kind of websites. I hope nothing will change.
Did me a favor
Thank you, lads! They helped me with my customized WordPress installation and increased the inodes limit when I was performing a scan.
Fast
There is no need to contact their support. y site is always fast.
Start worrying about your customers- not trees
They should stop worrying about their green credentials and worry about their customer instead. I have recently had a heart attack and three strokes and asked for their help and support because I am now partially blind- I have had no help and support and they will not speak to me on the phone - everything has to be done by support ticket - but i cannot see to write and respond to support tickets. i have been with the company for a number of years but I am looking for someone else - uncaring and utterly unresponsive.
Upgrade
I started reaching limits, and it caused numerous errors and lost emails. The sales representative helped me with a better plan and scheduled migration. Thank you for the discount and seamless migration. No issues now!
Regarding uptime
Over the past three months, I've logged 2 separate outages—one of which was unannounced maintenance that resulted in downtime between 30 and 90 minutes. I received only a generic "network maintenance" email after the fact. Their advertised 99.9% uptime guarantee feels misleading when I factor in these "maintenance" periods.
Ecowebhosting services used to be good, but now it is worse
Ecowebhosting services used to be good, but since their recent migration, the service is going from bad to worse. Support team take forever to address issues that are suppose to be basic support. If ecowebhosting continue this, I will be a lost client.
Came for the trees, staying for all of it
This is my second project with Eco Web Hosting, and I haven't been disappointed yet. I have gotten a lot of guidance and support from the support team, and to me, the service (and freshly planted trees, which I value) is well worth it. Even being in a different timezone has proven to be of little consequence. I was worried about this at first, but responses have been swift. I hope to be planting more trees with Eco Web Hosting for as long as we can. Highly recommend.
Fast Service!
The key thing for me is their tech support. I've never had to wait more than fifteen minutes to hear back. Excellent assistance. I appreciate it.
Massive drop in quality
Since migration the service has massively declined. We’re experiencing really slow support, the staff don’t read tickets and have come across multiple issues which we’ve either had to work around or simply haven’t been sorted.
Reliable and Helpful
Eco Web Host has been a reliable service provider, but most importantly, they have an excellent and responsive support team. I'm not terribly tech savvy so their assistance any time I'm confused or out of my depth has been monumentally helpful.
After the forced migration
After the forced migration, all the services are just trash! Support takes forever to respond and when they do, not helpful at all it is just sad. My clients and I had serious reputational and financial loss because of this company here. I can classify it as a criminal organization as they want to take money money without offering any value but they want to hold you at ransom to their disfunctional services.
Since the forced server migration I've…
Since the forced server migration I've had constant problems with email: legit emails land in spam, servers are not online etc. The helpdesk is of no help at all. It seems like they are now running their services on some garbage AI written code.
Poor support and a platform that doesn't work.
Echoing others' recent experience since the takeover by ENIX. Support is now dreadful, taking many hours to respond and then not reading the ticket, so they only do half of what you asked. The AI-powered help often suggests actions that don't work. The 24-hour support now means it takes 24 hours to get a reply. The platform itself doesn't work properly.
We and our clients lost money and reputation when the forced migration occurred. We're moving everything back to 20i.
Price is good
Good pricing for WordPress hosting. I'm using them not because they are green. One day, I found them, and their prices were okay, and I signed up. It could be a good place for those who are concerned about the environment, though. I like the service and the performance of our websites.

Cost us about 20 - 30% in sales post migration. Preparing to move to new hosting.
