A Long Partnership

We have been with Eco for quite a while and they have always been very supportive and helpful regarding any questions or problems we've had.

I wouldn't choose anyone else, and I can always rely on their amazing uptime and the support team to come back to us with a prompt fix if we have any queries.

Thank You for 5-star Service!

Over the last 10 years you have hosted my genealogy website, there has been almost no down time.
Every time I had an issue and generated a new support ticket, it was promptly answered each and every time. For that I am grateful. And these are the reasons for the 5-star rating.

The feedback is always prompt. The support staff is kind and friendly. I love them, I love the company, I love what they are doing and what they stand for. Been my #1 hosting and domain name service for close to a decade now.

It used to be great until bought by Enix Ltd

Eco Web Hosting was one of the greatest web hosting companies in the UK, with top-notch, fast-responding customer service... until it was bought out by Enix Ltd. Since then, customer service has been absolute rubbish. Actually, customer service isn't there. The phone line is literally unavailable, so there is no way to call them. Nobody is responding to emails, either. I gave one star only because there isn't an option to give less.

Downhill since recent control panel change

Sadly the support and service has gone downhill since the recent control panel change which is now just horrendous. Not sure if they have been bought out by another company or changed hands?

I have been with EWH for nearly 2 years since moving from another provider, initially the support was excellent and very responsive and I can see other users also mention the same and the service is also affordable for me and my clients, however 6 months ago they changed their control panel which lacks a lot of basic features, one of them being able to see the login details so you can pass the details for the control panel onto your clients, however now I have to raise a support ticket every time I create a hosting package or have an existing one just to get that information which is a pain in the backside.

I have also had to contact support many times to enable the timeline backups feature to be able to restore from the backups (which I am paying yearly for as an extra service) on my hosted packages. Why is this not enabled by default across all of the packages??

Please EWH, if you are reading this review, you NEED to improve the control panel, fix all the issues and go back to the way you was running previously.

The hosting service however I cannot fault as they use 20i's infrastructure which is rock solid.

Service gone downhill since takeover

Since being taken over by Enix Ltd, and merged with HostPresto, the quality of this company has plummeted, as so often the case.

Previously, Eco Web Hosting had fantastic live support, they would respond almost immediately and you would get the same person every time.

Now, they have the support ticket system. For example, I had an issue with a site being down, I contacted at 9am and it wasn't resolved until 6pm. I had no success via Support Tickets, so had to make a phone call. The person on the phone had no idea, so had to pass me on to someone else.

The dashboard/interface is unintuitive and clunky.

I am now unfortunately lumped with Eco, as the cost of migrating the dozens of sites on my reseller account would be too much.
I used to be a Eco Web Hosting-evangelist, but now I would not recommend someone use this service.

Constant overcharges - no response from support

Recently moved our reseller hosting account from Heart Internet to Eco. They were really helpful - to start with. Now I'm seriously concerned that I've made a very bad decision.
We are constantly overcharged on domain renewals and when I try and get this sorted, support tickets just go without replies. I was recently told that every time I reply to a support ticket (which are going unresponded to for days) my ticket goes back to the end of the queue. In other words - just sit and wait for the tickets NOT to get answered.

I wonder if this company has been taken over? Says it's a UK based company - and as i say at first...all seemed great.

I'm beginning to wish we'd stayed with Heart Internet at this point in time - and for anyone who has dealt with Heart Internet as a reseller, this is a very bad situation to find ourselves in.

An effort to preserve continuity

Recently, after more than five years of regularly renewing my subscription, I learned that my payment method stopped working and I involuntarily took a break from renewing my subscription for more than a year and a half. Over time, my account became inactive but part of my code and data still remained present on one of the Ecowehosing's servers. Of course I immediately wanted things to go back to normal as soon as possible, but that could not be achieved by simply opening a new account. It required action from the support team to link my new account to the resources created earlier. I am grateful to Declan P. who put in the effort to make it happen, and that's why I'm still a satisfied user.

Really gone downhill

I've been with Eco for several years now and have been happy. Support tickets were responded to quickly and issues dealt with the same day in most cases. As a website designer I decided to upgrade to the 'reseller hosting' so I could offer hosting with my design services to my clients.

Earlier this year Eco moved to a different platform (I'm assuming Eco themselves are resellers of another host) and the dashboard completely changed. I have lost access to everything I need to provide hosting services to my clients. A client needed me to resend her cpanel login details. Previously, I'd have logged in, gone to the reseller section, found her domain and click the 'resend login details' button. That option is no longer there, indeed the entire reseller section of my dashboard is completely missing! I can't resend emails, I can't do anything.

I opened a support ticket about this and they re-sent the login to my client. OK, great but the initial agent I spoke to didn't seem to understand the issue (I believe this agent is for the top tier company not from Eco themselves). It was only when I pointed out that I was paying for a service that I wasn't getting, did one of the familiar support names came back and told me 'we're aware of the issue and are working on a fix but don't know when' - months later and I still can't access the reseller settings I'm paying for.

I'm now in the process of looking for a better hosting company and won't continue with Eco, it's a shame because I like to support local companies but it's a nightmare trying to achieve anything through their platform now.

Contacting Customer Services is Impossible

I have been locked out of my hosting account for two weeks. The password reset link on their website is not working, I can't access the chat help without logging in, I have tried emailing the sales team but my emailed bounced, I have tried the contact form on their website twice and had no response, and have tried to ring ten plus times but am unable to get through. I can only assume Eco Web Hosting are no longer trading and just haven't admitted it yet.

Update 2/9/24: I received an email this weekend saying I have two outstanding invoices. It transpires Eco Web Hosting have been taken over by/merged with Host Presto and it appears the downtime occurred while they transitioned services. I am still disgusted at the lack of communication and the disruption to my services, and I have now moved to another host, but to anyone reading this it is only fair to state that the disruption may have been a temporary situation during migration.

Abysmal - Stay clear of this company

We use Enix LTD for our email hosting.

Have had nothing but issues with their services since we joined them several years ago. We're regularly logged out of our email accounts for no reason, emails often take a long time to come though (or don't come through at all if using a tablet/ phone) and their is no 2FA!

Their customer service is shocking and if often takes hours to get a hold of someone as their phone lines don't work. When you do eventually get a hold of someone they make excuses as to why the services/ products they offer don't work properly.

Stay well clear of this company as the products/ services they offer are not worth the stress.

Good system to use and excellent support

Quick and easy to sign up to transfer a website and domain from another host.
