Sub par garments and appalling review practices

A very mixed bag of garments. I bought a bundle for my 3 year old. I really like the scratch mitten body, the high neck and wider than average mitts make it great. The separate gloves have so many seams, and my 3 year old won't keep them on, so pretty pointless for us. The mitten bolero is fine underneath a tshirt, but I buy something similar and superior from elsewhere. The PJ bottoms were fine, because of the rainbow stitching my little one loves them. However, the All in One PJs with mittens are awful, it has a wide stretchy neck which my 3 year old wriggled out of in the middle of the night and did horrifying damage to themselves, it was a literal bloody nightmare. I was also unimpressed by the bulky wooden buttons down the back, but they definitely felt beside the point when my little one was covered in blood and crying. I measured my child and bought the correct size, so this should not have been an issue.

I reviewed all of the products on their own website. My reviews of the bottoms and body were published immediately (4&5 stars). My review of the bolero was published after it was approved manually (3 stars). But the reviews of the gloves and all in 1 have not been published (1&2 stars), I received emails about them. For the gloves they recommend I buy a different product instead. And for the all in 1 they suggested I bought the wrong size. Both emails sign off with the sentence "Your review is currently not published. Please update your review to have it approved and published" so they basically won't publish low star reviews on their own website. Absolutely appalling practice. So here I am, putting my truthful review out regardless.

great shop, would buy from again.

they have clothing which is so beneficial for night time and day time wear. I did find that one of their tops was quite scratchy however they replied to my review with helpful information about the material structure and how to soften the fabric.

Great products for eczema and sensitive skin

Great products for eczema and sensitive skin from this small UK business. Both my daughter and I have eczema/ sensitive skin. Since buying my first garment (Scratch Mitten T) I've now ordered many more clothing items made out of 100% organic cotton. Also buy their creams.

great socks

I have been wearing their socks Ankle Socks - 100% Organic Cotton every day for years now, washing them at 60°. I have hyperextended toes, yet they are the first socks in my life not developing holes, neither in front or on the back. Besides, I like their sophisticated look.

I'm left £40 out of pocket

I am really disappointed with the quality of the product and the service received. We bought some child's all in one pyjamas which seemed fine when they arrived, but within a month the buttonholes came unstitched and started to stretch. These were an expensive pair of pyjamas so I contacted Pure Cotton Comfort and was told that the issue *wasn't* a fault and that I just needed to put a few stitches in them myself. When I questioned this, they asked me to return the pyjamas so they could confirm whether or not it was a fault or if they had been damaged by user error. As I knew it wasn't user error, I returned the pyjamas as requested. Pure Cotton Comfort then claimed the pyjamas had never arrived. Even when I provided proof of sending, they refused to offer any kind of replacement or refund. I am now out of pocket for a £40 pair of pyjamas and certainly will not be buying anything from this company ever again.

Terrible service

Terrible service.

I paid for next day delivery on the rose top - not only did i not receive my product, I did not receive a notification of the progress, it wasnt until i called up pure cotton comfort myself, was I able to get the information that my product wasnt in stock, and would not be delivered to me for atleast a week.

The supervisor was extremely unhelpful.

I would never recommend this company. So disappointed as this is for people who suffer with eczema, being really painful, the sense of urgency for the product was not appreciated by this company at all. Instead, has led to more suffering of eczema, than helping with relief.

Not Recommended

After a few months trying to cope with severe eczema I decided to pay out for some ‘expert’ clothing. Cotton Comfort’s customer service wasn’t great pre-purchase, I emailed to enquire about an item and heard nothing back. I decided to go ahead with the purchase anyway and bought a few items.

When the items arrived I was disappointed by their sizing as despite taking accurate measurements a couple of the items were far too large. I bought a pair of the long John pyjamas and was shocked to see that they were practically see through. I decided to return everything and shop elsewhere.

To my surprise there was a returns form in the parcel, but no returns label. I called customer service to ask about this and they said there should have been a label but did not offer to send my one so I paid for the return through Royal Mail.

A week after I sent the items back I received a parcel containing all the items I had returned with no explanation as to why I had received them. I called customer service who came back to me a couple of days later to inform me that they were unable to accept my return as the long johns were ‘wrinkled’ and the box had a small tear, the top I bought ‘looked used’ and the packaging on the socks I had ordered was ‘damaged’. I hadn’t opened the socks, that’s how they arrived.

The clothing from Cotton Comfort is not cheap. Because the shop owner ‘thinks’ the clothing I returned has been worn I am now out of the money I paid for the items and the money I paid to return them. Not to mention I am stuck with clothing that is poorly sized/see-through and therefore completely useless.

Honestly, I am shielding person dealing with a severe skin condition in the middle of a pandemic and I am too tired to discuss the issue with Pure Cotton Comfort any further. Considering their website is full of ‘advice’ on eczema and they seem to be small, I thought they were an ethical company with good values. I am incredibly disappointed with their service and obviously will not purchase from them again.

I ended up buying 100% cotton, tag free, washable at 40 degrees clothing from Marks & Spencer which is much better value and much better customer service. I recommend others do the same.

Simple and well made

Simple but well made cotton clothing. The kids pyjamas are really good, soft and comfortable. For babies I also really recommend the plain cotton onesies with the buttons down the back. They protect against dust, and the seams and labels are on the outside. Got lots of compliments on the unique “retro” patterns too, nothing like what’s in the normal shops. It has all lasted till outgrown so far.

This being our first order and there …

This being our first order and there courier lied about were the package was left. We contacted the Cotton Comfort about this who advised they had to give the courier myhermes 24 hours. I contact Cotton Comfort again to see what was happening with the order and was told that the items would be sent out on a 24 hour courier. Its now 3 days since no package. Contacts Cotton Comfort to be told sorry 1 of your items is out of stock and they did not know when it would be back in stock. What a waste our time and money and had to request a full refund. Will not be using this company again and rather spend our money with another more reliable company.

O.K with one major flaw

The eczema clothing they are touting comes with impossible to remove thick, scratchy, canvas labels sewn straight into the main seams; so that removing them takes considerable effort not to damage the stitching!! I e-mailed them about their adult ladies briefs and vest tops which were spoiled by those ridiculously large labels, but have not had a reply.
After recently developing an alarming allergy to all synthetic fabrics I searched everywhere for organic underwear and found this Company on Google. The cotton was soft and breathable and non-allergenic but the tough fabric labels proved extremely tricky to remove! Took me ages to remove the ones on the briefs and not without some damage to the main stitching. But it was IMPOSSIBLE to remove the firmly stitched in labels on the vest tops! Also, they're a bit pricey for rather cheaply made garments. I'm yet to see how long they last following a few washes.
In their favour, I can say these garments do provide some relief and comfort, being quite well fitting, soft and seamless but do tend to come in at the smaller end of sizing ie: the 16-18 would only really fit a size 16 and you would need to go up a size for an 18. But eczema sufferers would definitely find their condition exacerbated by those troublesome labels.. which is ridiculous for a Company priding itself on eczema clothing.
As far as the kid's clothing is concerned, I gather the mums on MumsNet.com recommend them?
I may re-order in future because I can not find another Company that sells anti-allergy underwear.
So here's hoping they last me a while.
