Everything started badly from the outset. I arranged finance through one of their affiliated finance brokers, yet the salesman at Eddie Weight repeatedly tried to persuade me to cancel this and instead use a different finance house that he “works better with”. This immediately raised concerns.

The car itself was not fit for purpose. Despite being only 9 months old, it absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke. There were visible cigarette burns in the roof lining. The parcel shelf was broken and got stuck in the boot on its first and only use. The passenger seat mechanism is faulty and reclines during long journeys. The wireless phone charger does not work. The air conditioning blows hot air even when set to 16 degrees. I could go on.

I raised these issues and formally requested to exercise my consumer rights to reject the vehicle. After chasing twice, I received one brief response saying the matter had been passed to another department. That was it. The car has now been sitting unused outside my house for over 60 days and I still have not received any further response.

I would be very wary of buying anything from here. The price may look competitive, but they charge £399 to “get the car on the road” and clearly do not check anything properly. There was no second key on a 9-month-old car, meaning I cannot use many of the vehicle’s technology features and the previous owner could potentially still track the car. The single key provided is damaged. The hybrid battery had no charge at all. The smoke smell is so strong it will make you gag if you’re not a smoker.

Overall, a very poor experience from start to finish. I would strongly recommend staying away and don’t be pulled in by the price, it’s not worth the saving!!!

Any queries we had Gary was able to answer them in a manner we could understand. From start to finish it was a painless process.

What can I say These guys are amazing, we bought out second car from here, Gary looked after us from start to finish one of the sales managers Steven got involved to do a great deal for us, after we had taken delivery of the car there was a few small issues, but we were booked into to the service department and Richard helped sort them out within the day, I wish every business took care of there customers like they do here.... thanks again everyone and we will see you when we are ready to buy again x

Gary was friendly polite and very helpful in helping me finding the right car for me. Nothing seemed to be bother him. When I needed a ride home Gary gave me a ride home and picked me up to finish the paperwork the following morn.

Dave Burdett dealt with my car upgrade, and also doubled as a driving instructor (I hadnt ever driven an automatic before). Top bloke, and top service. Very happy.

I have purchased a few cars from Eddie Wright and their prices are fair and their sales executives are very polite. I have just bought another car, and at no point was I pressured or pushed into the sale unlike some other dealers I have dealt with in the past. Finance all went through great and my sales executive Mark Smith was a pleasure to deal with. I will definitely be back when it is time to purchase my next car. I highly recommend this dealership!
