Calm, encouraging and genuinely supportive

I had a really lovely experience at Edinburgh Art Workshop. The space feels calm and welcoming (and super central!), and there’s no pressure to be anything other than where you’re at creatively. Diana was kind, down to earth, and clearly cares about supporting artists. It felt like a place where you can just get on with your work and feel quietly encouraged, walking away with new skills to be proud of. I’m really glad I went.

An excellent and attentive workshop

An excellent and attentive workshop. Always trying to make sure students are keeping up, and checking in with class feedback to make sure the lessons are working as intended.

The beginner workshop got me using colour and into art in a big way this year and the intermediate class helped me to keep improving. Would definitely recommend if youre looking to learn

Best watercolour course I had

This year I wanted to make more time for art; when I joined the 8-week watercolour course, I felt excited and a bit afraid.

Diana's presence and guidance were grounding and allowed for artistic exploration; She is a caring, encouraging and highly experienced teacher!
I noticed the improvement in my skills and understanding at the end of every class.
The attention to detail was remarkable: from the guide and careful explanations, to the material we were given to create.

I feel really grateful I was able to have fun, improve my skills and have time to be creative in such a beautiful container.

An treasure trove of art supplies

An inspiring little place absolutely packed with art supplies. The brush selection is particularly good. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The place has a very relaxed atmosphere which makes browsing and shopping a nice experience.

A wonderful course

this was a gift and it was is one of the loveliest and most engaging things i've done in a long time. With zero experience or skill in painting or drawing I wasn't sure if i'd make any progress over the 8 weeks, but Diana is such an excellent teacher who builds a really lovely environment. I had so much fun, learned loads and am loving my new hobby.

Friendly space to learn and experience watercolor art

I took the winter watercolor beginners class. I found it very well organized, welcoming and inspiring. Diana was really good and ambitious. She not only introduced us to the basics but also challenged us to think beyond the technic and how we best express ourselves with our art. Her main aim was that we are happy with our work. This really strike me (and I loved the most) that she never said there is a mistake or that something is wrong but asks you what you are not happy with and helps you reach that point. This course is creates a safe place to unleash the hidden artist and to meet other great people.
