Stressful

I am giving an update as someone came out on August 12th 2024 and carried out further work so hopefully the issues below are now resolved.

Please do not use this company we have had several issues with their sister company extension building services who use the same e mail and correspondence address.
Firstly we never received paper copies of our extension plans which we paid for.
We had a draught in the bifold traffic door and waited more than two months over winter to get this rectified. Appointments were not kept and we were not notified. I was advised i could either have the door flush with the locking more stiff or a draught. Its an exterior door so the fact a draught was considered to be an option still baffles me .
It took over two years to get a roof leak (hopefully sorted) again several date changes and missed appointments. We were told it must be due to old pointing on the original part of the property which it wasn't .We now have tape around the velux and roof tiles. I still don't know if the leak was located or it is only the tape preventing water ingress . This incurred extra cost to ourselves as it needed to be repainted internally again. In February 2024 i reported issues with the garden steps and in March 2024 i reported a gap under the bifold door and wet bricks . The pointing in the garden steps is crumbling and coming away from the bricks I was told someone would come the end of March, then it changed to April. April was cancelled. I then asked for mid-May due to personal commitments and received no response. It was chased by text on May 10th by e-mail on May 21st and a phone call on May 28th . Due to the fact i received no reply i contacted another building firm to assess the steps in June. They also assessed the step under the bifold door which also has gaps in the pointing . I was advised the tiles on top under the bifold door are not tilted forward on one side . This is causing water to pool on the step and soak into the extension brickwork rather than off the step onto the garden . The underneath of the bifold door has not been sealed at all.
I was also advised the bricks used are too porous and not suitable for garden steps. The risers on the main steps are different heights which they shouldn't be.
I informed EBS/EDS of this by letter in June. It is now over three weeks after the letter was sent and i have still had no response. I also forwarded a copy by e-mail. I have a five year workmanship guarantee which is one reason we chose them so feel they have broken the contract. There is a pattern of being given a date which is then rearranged or missed completely so everything drags on for months causing unnecessary stress. I have been extremely patient but the fact they have now ignored me completely suggests they have no interest in rectifying the issues . No one from the company has been out to look at the issue with the steps or even acknowledge recent correspondence. I did send photos with my original e-mail in February but the condition of the steps has since further deteriorated.
When the extension was being built they were very quick to respond to any queries (especially when payment was due )
I don't know if they realise how much stress this causes customers or they just don't care.
