Negative Stars Review (if possible)

Negative Stars Review (if possible). The owner is arrogant, rude and possible other things. Visited the showroom, they came and quoted, informed them they were not competitive and would they consider matching price from others and this is where they turned aggressive. They rudely hung up on the phone, when I called back they simply said they don't want to do business with "people like me", beware and stay away is my recommendation.

Great product and good service

I chose The Window Company because the quality of their product is excellent.
The installation was average.
Yet Alan and some of his more experienced team turned the situation around.
We are happy with the result and applaud Alan and Mishu's professionalism and ability.

Excellent Product, Customer service and Great installation Team..!

I don't know why people are not looking for the right window company. I recently had the pleasure of working with The Window & Door Center for 35 windows and a bi-folding door for my new extension project, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the results!

Alan was incredibly helpful and assisted me in selecting the perfect Origin windows that matched both my aesthetic preferences and energy efficiency needs within the budget. The installation crew was punctual, courteous, and worked diligently to ensure everything was installed perfectly.

The quality of the windows is outstanding, and I've already noticed a significant improvement in both the appearance and insulation of my home. The customer service was top-notch, with clear communication throughout the project and a genuine commitment to my satisfaction.

I highly recommend The Window & Door Center to anyone in need of new windows and doors. Their expertise, professionalism, and excellent craftsmanship truly set them apart. From start to finish, the entire experience was seamless and professional. I am still excited to see my new Belm's door, which will arrive soon.

Special thanks to Alan, Ben, and the team members!

Replacement of large sash windows in Victorian, 2nd floor flat

The Window Centre recently replaced 3 large wooden sashes in a second floor flat in Maida Vale. The sashes were removed and replaced entirely from inside the flat so no scaffold was required. The work was done, as planned, within 1 day and due care was taken to protect the rooms and fittings in the flat. The fitters, Catalin, Miso and Maiei, were professional and competent. Catalin demonstrated the function and features of the windows once the fitting was complete. A good product and a good team

We were returning customers

We were returning customers, when we booked The Window Centre. They did a good job for us back in 2017/18 with two large front facing bay windows.
This time it was 1 large bay, a large and a small hall windows, a kitchen window and a toilet window. Dave called to advise assist and provide the estimate. Helpful and courteous as usual. Ben called to finalise the measurements and spec. Also courteous and efficient. The job was done by a very competent team in the two days agreed. They were tidy fast and cleared up well. They even refitted our blinds. We were impressed and would recommend them to anyone in this area. Cost was fair.

Stay away from Ed and this company

Wow I have only really bad things to say about Ed. He was arrogant, didn't listen and basically was ignorant and impolite from the get go. Apparently he is the director but he needs direction on how to speak to people. I thought the company looked pretty good but considering how he behaves I wouldn't go anywhere near them. Stay clear from Ed or you'll find yourself a bad bad bad experience!

Don’t seem to want our business Updated

Awful experience from insurance claims in previous years. New claim resulted in a request for a quote for new conservatory roof, as well as new door and other window replacements outside of the insurance claim. Promising start with a quick appointment made to quote. Quote promised within 1 week, nearly 3 weeks later nothing back despite chasing up. Do not recommend using this company.

Update, it is now September 2022 and the Window Centre never contacted us with their quote or any follow up to say why they never quoted. Their loss, order of over £20k placed elsewhere.

Excellent service, great product and professional staff.

We were visited by Dave from The Window Centre. Dave was professional, engaging and took the time to explain our options, no hard sell. He walked us through the entire process giving us full, and precise information on what to expect. The installation team did a fantastic job, and the result was amazing. Excellent quality and service. If you are reading this and considering new windows/doors/conservatory give The Window Centre a call and ensure you get Dave to come and give you a quote. Make sure you ask for Dave, he is a top bloke and knows his stuff!

Nightmare

Having an ongoing nightmare with this company. They arrived to fit a conservatory a couple of months ago, had zero respect for my property, broke things, did not speak to me at all about any of it and then left.
Since then, every time it rains there's a new leak. After being put off because, let's be honest, they already have my money so I'm no longer important, they eventually came back to fix a leak and had the complete disrespect to moan about being here to an electrician who was also here that day.
I am now waiting for yet another leak to be fixed and as usual, am being informed very last minute that they're not coming when they said they would.
A totally rude, unprofessional company who are obviously not very good at what they do else they wouldn't have to keep getting called back.
Review will be updated when (if) they finally seal my conservatory properly.

5* - new windows in a 6 bedroomed edwardian house

We used The Window Centre to replace all our windows in a large 6 bedroomed detached Edwardian house and couldn't be happier with the results - our house is now warmer, quieter and more secure as well as looking fabulous. The team dealt with the large job on time and on budget and we have no hesitation in recommending The Window Centre in the future. Thank you Alan, Ben, Constantine and the whole team for your 5* service throughout.

The Window Centre Harrow - Nightmare from Start to Finish

I used The Window Centre Harrow in 2016, it was a terrible decision and I regret ever having coming across such a wretched company. Not only did they cause extensive damage in and around my house during the installation but within weeks of the job being completed problems began.

Over the next eighteen months I had countless visits by their engineer who tried to resolve all sorts of problems from windows catching to draughty doors. The problems kept coming thick and fast and as quickly as one issue was addressed another arose. During the installation despite being told any damage to surrounding brickwork would be made good it never was and the damage was simply covered up using excessively wide strips of plastic known as trims. These were glued using a permanent adhesive to the window frames and adjacent wall but within six months they all cracked away from the walls. Following several meetings it was finally agreed they would be replaced with a slimmer alternative, I couldn't get rid of them completely because there was glue residue on the window frame that would never come off hence it needed to be covered up.

When the new trims were fitted the standard of work was absolutely atrocious.

Almost two years after the original installation and after more service visits than I care to remember, I was told the windows had not been manufactured correctly and all need to be replaced. Regarding the draughty doors I was told more adjustments would be carried out.

Another point worth mentioning is that the plastic corners of most of the windows have a chipped appearance and the director of the company has told me numerous times that they are not chipped, it's the way the windows are manufactured. Having asked their engineer during his first visit why the corners looked like they're chipped he told me they're only plastic hence do sometimes break. That was reaffirmed when I spoke to someone on the technical help desk at the manufacturer Griffin Windows and it was confirmed a third time by the surveyor who's acting as the expert witness in this case because I am now suing The Window Centre for a full refund.

I had many meetings with the director of the company and although he came across as a genuine and likeable person, he's a sheep in wolf's clothing. In his witness statement to the court and in other legal documentation he told one lie after another but thankfully because I documented everything so meticulously, I have been able to expose him for the dishonest and deceitful individual that he is.

The case has been going on for over two and a half years and is due to be heard in court in Dec 2018. I have recently been contacted by the father of the director who I have dealt with up until now, he too is a director of the company. He is now trying to settle the claim out of court.

The evidence being used in this case includes photographic evidence, an expert witness report and almost forty pages of email correspondence which documents every word that was ever exchanged between us.

I would recommend The Window Centre Harrow be avoided at all costs. My problems started on day three of the installation and have continued ever since. Two and a half years later and I have two sets of very draughty doors, draughts from around almost every window in the house, windows that creak, scrape (metal on metal) and catch as they open/close, handles that are either so stiff the window is difficult to open/close or so loose that they don't stay up when the windows are open. The plastic corners of almost every window is chipped and the narrow trims around the windows/doors that replaced the original wider ones are an absolute eyesore.

During the installation brickwork around two upstairs windows was badly damaged and the repair can only be described as amateurish. I have photographic evidence from before and after the installation. They also smashed porch windows outwards instead of removing the panes of glass in one piece hence flower beds on either side were full of tiny shards of broken glass. Plants were trampled on and damaged beyond repair. There was also damage caused inside the house to a toilet cistern, light switches were scratched and two frames both of which were on the wall were damaged.

I'm sure there's more professional window replacement companies out there, think carefully before using The Window Centre Harrow

waste of time

I invited the company to quote for rectifying work from another company.

During our call I provided every aspect of the remedial work required and they even suggested the approach that should be taken.

When the surveyor turned up he was dismissing details we had already discussed and was on the border of rude. He refused to quote for any part of the work and left supporting the work was trivial.

Firstly I would never use a company that discounts details. I cannot understand why this person visited my house while they already knew the scope of the work.

1 star for wasting my time!
