Had solar installed by effective home…
Had solar installed by effective home which were recommended via hive. Install was fine and hassle free. Unfortunately their after care is shocking and appalling. Reported over a month ago that cables were hanging loose from the panels and have had zero communication.
The panels also weren’t installed according to the site survey plan, 3 panels should of been installed on the side of the house which only gets direct sunlight first thing in the morning and 5 on the rear which is south facing. They installed 3 on the south facing pitch and the rest on the side which gets little direct sunlight, so system was effectively missold.
Have chased numerous times and been told their ops team will be in touch but never do so wondering if there even is an ops team.
The cables clearly aren’t run or secured under the panels meaning they could become detached from any of the panels affecting the output.
Never had access to sun sync which is the inverter and battery installed so can’t check the systems health other than on the hive app which is limited.
Effective home really need to sort out after their care as I now have zero faith anything needed under warranty will ever be completed if required.
Invisible Customer Service
3 months since raising a post solar battery installation concern, their customer service is invisible, shocking state of affairs
Absolute joke. Worst experience I have ever had
Absolute joke, initial survey carried out, no further contact, emailed company for follow up and was given an installation date, no body turned up, rang to find out what happened, told I would get a call back, never happened called back got another installation date, called day before to confirm, was told appointment had been cancelled without any contact, chased this again to be told that they do not replace back boilers and this would not be covered by the scheme. Emailed them asking for a call to discuss options as British Gas, scheme funders say it will cover the replacement of a back boiler with a combi, again no response, it would appear that they will only take on easy boiler swaps and do not deliver the full scope of the scheme funded by British gas.
I would strongly recommend that you avoid this company and all of it associates. Customer service and communication is abysmal. I will be contacting British gas, who fund this help4homes scheme to discuss what other options are available. Avoid this company will only lead to heart ache and frustration.
Initial contact ✅ Follow up action ??
On making contact to customer services department and provided a clear explanation regarding the issue with my solar energy system. Within 24hrs I was contacted via email from Nicky Wilson (Compliance Team Leader) where additional information was required to allow the technical team to address and hopefully resolve my issue (TBC). The initial contact was swiftly dealt with and I am now awaiting further information from the technical team.
Not So Effective......
Was directed to these guys via a Tesla enquiry as I have a self build project that I want solar PV and a Tesla Powerwall.
Was told they would need the build complete before they could then come out to install the PV as they need to use there own scaffold. This would mean fully tilling the roof removing scaffold, then putting there scaffold up and then stripping one side of the roof off so they could fit the integrated panels.
I've worked in the construction industry for 25years and have never been told such rubbish.
Currently waiting for Tesla to call me back to feed this back to them as I'm not sure they are the type of company Tesla should be associating with, all sounds a little suspect to me.
A complete joke of a company
A complete joke of a company, can't even send their staff on customer service training.
Don't listen , don't call you back, lie to you.
Their partners lie to you too.
Not worth dealing with.
Waste of time! Stay away!
Multiple cancellations for an assessor without communications. When assessor finally turned up he said he will put me on an eco 4 scheme for external wall insulation. Almost 2 months later and no communication from the assessor. When I contact energy won they say we don't offer eco 4 so why is the assessor you've instructed giving false information. Poor customer service all round and energy won rep wasn't helpful or able to offer an apology for the misleading behaviour of the assessor. Would never recommend them and not surprised they have low ratings.
Really poor service
Really poor service, i signed up to get Solar panels now over 3 months ago. Nothing was done and i have chased few times.
1st i was told i'm not on their system
2nd i was told some will call to book survey
3rd and final i'm now told that they could not get council approval and that the scheme end Monday.
Luckily i did not part with any money on this but lost a lot of time.
Please think twice before using these guys
Andrew the surveyor was really…

Very bad
Very bad. Was told it would be a 10 hour job so booked a full day off work. Engineer packed up and left at 1.30. Job not finished, pipes and radiator left blocking a doorway and washing machine and the old boiler not taken out for collection. We had to remove this ourselves as it was in the way. Shelf in boiler cupboard thrown away and heating not working. Was told they would be in touch to finish the job but heard nothing. Repeated phone calls were a complete waste of time as never anyone available to speak to and no one ever called back. Eventually managed to book in to get the job finished; booked another day off work, which was a complete waste of time as no one showed up. repeated calls to office got no results, person answering the phone is clueless, again no one there to speak to and no one called back. Boiler certification and job completed documentation all in wrong name, again, person answering phone couldn’t care less and no one ever called back. Eventually my son had to visit the office in person to get the job finished. Documents still all in wrong name. Very stressful and would not recommend to anyone.

Energy saving
Effective Energy were contracted to carry out external solic wall insulation at my property after I had applied for a central government grant through my local county council.
They were one of 2 companies that provided quotes.
My first meeting with someone from Effective Engergy was when a surveyor came round to measure up. We discussed possible options.
The installer's were very efficient, though the installation took place over a month they kept me up to date with communications.
There was a niggle with information but this was more the local council end not having an appreciation of property & installation.
Very helpful no problems
I was helped every step of the way with advice and form filling. The staff were very helpful. It was good to have a specific person dealing with my project. This gave confidence and continuity

Reliable and considerate
This would be 5 stars had the scaffolding been removed a little sooner.
