Would Use Again
Very professional survey undertaken followed by a swift installation of the inverter. Even followed up with an upgraded model after two weeks due to some faulty batch identified. No mess from the installation crew and took all rubbish away. Highly recommended.

Solar Battery Installation
Initial tel.call Feb.22 asking if we wouldlike a solar panel performance survey as they were nearby.Agreed and Josh visited later that day and survey found all working well.Discussed battery storage system but had not researched although interested.Follow up call from Keiron 5/23 and following my research agreed to visit to discuss.Full explanation and quote so agreed with system fitted on 2/6,very efficiently by 2 engineers who were polite,thorough and tidy.After they left I telephoned Liam at office and payment made.Very satisfied with work carried out and will recommend Efficient Homes to anyone who is interested in battery system

Excellent after sales
Had battery installed 12months earlier by EH. The system recently developed a fault which meant the battery wasnt storing. EH attended and upgraded my system which included the replacement of the inverter for a better unit. Now working satisfactory. It is really when something goes wrong that the true nature of the installer is revealed and I can only say that I was impressed with the way they dealt with the problem at no expense to me and I now have a fully working upgraded 2battery system

cold call about solar panels
I also had a cold call about the efficiency of solar panels arranged day and time and to send me e-mail about company. Saw the e-mail and could see they did solar battery storage as my old one had broken down. Keiron called had a look at where old batteries were and agreed price for new system. Received e-mail following morning with quotation and to let them know when i wanted the work done, later that evening van turns up with two lads ready to fit system showed them where it was going in loft and Zac didn't like that at all so fitted in porch. He explained everything what they were doing and very pleasant. Done the job cleaned up after them and Zac then set up system on pc explained everything what was happening and now i can see how system is doing. So far very pleased well done all round

things are not what they seem
I don't usually bother writing reviews, but something about this company leads me to do so. I completely understand why some reviews suspect a scam (and perhaps they are right in some cases). Why? The firm cold calls - usually a bad sign; they are pushy, requesting a site visit quickly. But the guy who came did know his stuff in quite a complex subject. Although the visit was billed as an inspection, it was soon clear that I was expected to buy something, in this case, battery back-up for our solar system. I had done some research on this and had already concluded that it was a good idea. From that point on I was happy to agree to EH's solution. It was weird that once I'd agreed to purchase the system and the guy had left, I got a phone call saying that the engineers could come and install it in half-an-hour's time. Wow! Good to be prompt, but this was extreme! I agreed and the installation was up and running in an hour. After that, I was (almost) harassed to pay up the same day. I wonder whether they have a cash-flow problem. But at least they didn't ask for the money up front.
The app (with 1.9/5 level of review on the Apple Store, which was worrying) does in fact work well and is very informative of the system.
Altogether, the over-enthusiastic, even pushy, way in which I was dealt with by the director was strange (he obviously felt the extreme speed of installation was a merit) but in the end, yes, as with other reviews, they have done a good job and clearly battery back-up is the way to go.

My experience with Efficient Homes' cold-call/soft-sell operation appears to be similar to others reported here. The soft-sell started with a friendly chat with Anthony Whiteway, who came to survey our solar system free-of-charge. I was fully aware that the survey was not obligatory and was used as a "lead."
Our SMA Sunny Boy SB 3300 solar inverter, along with 16 Sanyo HIT-N235SE10 solar panels, had been installed by Evo Energy Ltd on May 20, 2011. The estimated system output was 3228kWh/year.
Anthony requested various documents and then completed the Efficient Homes Survey Sheet. Our total production since installation was 38001kWh, representing an average of 3180kWh per annum. By dividing 3180 by 3228 and multiplying by 100, he calculated that the efficiency of the system was 98.5%. Anthony worked out that our annual usage was below average at 2222kWh and had cost £935 per annum. The condition of the panels was rated "Okay," and it was recommended they be cleaned every 6-12 months. An additional recommendation was to purchase 3.3kWh of battery storage "to save against rising energy."
During the subsequent discussion, Anthony used the back of the Survey Sheet to explain the savings that would be made if the 3.3kWh of battery storage was used. He calculated that, using a pessimistic 40% saving of panel production, which equalled 1272kWh, would save £816 per annum at £0.64189/kWh "not forgetting future rises!" The use of off-peak tariffs could save an additional £330, giving a total saving of £1146 per annum.
As a result, I accepted a Growatt 3.3kW AC Coupled Battery Inverter Bundle at £3800 (although the later invoice read £3013.34 with Installation at £786.66) and a Growatt warranty of 10 years and a Workmanship Warranty of 5 years. (Anthony did indicate that I could save up to £2,292 per annum at a cost of £5400, but when asked if I should choose that, he said it was not necessary). Payment was not required until the installation was complete, which happened a couple of days later. Jay and Buddy arrived at 19:15 and completed at 20:15, leaving two boxes and the not-required bits and pieces (which I did not mind). Before they left, the Shinephone app was set up on my and my wife's mobile phones.
Liam in the office had been coordinating the installation and was paid shortly afterwards.
Only time will tell if the promised savings are realized. Our house base load of about 250 watts ensures that the battery discharges to 10% in the early hours after an evening of viewing TV. The grid supplies electricity until solar power takes over.
