Absolutely Shocking Service – Avoid Elevate Group at All Costs

I moved into Gunsmith House, Birmingham, a month ago and have had nothing but problems since day one. The ventilation unit has been faulty from the start, the balcony door doesn't even close properly (posing a serious security risk), and there are cracks all across the flat.

Elevate Group's idea of maintenance is laughable. They insist you log everything on some platform, but it feels like your requests go straight into a black hole – no updates, no responses, no resolution. It's been weeks, and we're still living in a flat where the balcony door won't close. It's not just a comfort issue; it's a safety one too.

It’s painfully clear that Elevate doesn’t care about their tenants – once they seel the flat and you’re in and paying, you're completely ignored. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. If you're considering buying with Elevate Group or renting a flat that is build by elevate group– don’t. You’ll regret it.

First time buyer’s nightmare

Agreed to purchase a property off plan (as you would with a new build) due to be ready for January. This of course didn’t happen, was repeatedly told dates that kept creeping back to February, then late Feb/early March, then mid March, then early April. Somewhere in between hearing the delay times I went to view my actual apartment, it was still very much a building site and there were lots of things that just didn’t make sense. Wires boxed off in the corner of the room in large boxes that met the corner of the window meaning no curtains could be put up. Kitchen stopping prematurely although I understand it was standard, looked ridiculous and half finished. The estate agent being used for this property was Centrick who despite being lovely, had to keep relaying bad news. The developer couldn’t organise a booze up in a brewery or so it seems, a development advertised to be HTB didn’t even have their NP code. The NP code wasn’t even the final straw at this point, I was told the apartments wouldn’t be ready until May and the new code which they actually had to reapply for due to lack of planning around the new HTB scheme, could take 12 weeks to come back which from then would take around 4 weeks to complete/exchange making my move time around August. When I expressed my concerns as I was moving due to relocating for work and was using Airbnb and it was expensive the response I got was “after speaking to the developer your options are either, carry on with what you’re doing now, or the suggestion we have is rather than short term renting, do a 6 months agreement and if we can get you in before that is up we’ll ‘look at’ reimbursing you so you aren’t paying rent and mortgage” at this point I pulled out of the sale. From what I could see from the visit to my planned apartment I did have, was rushed work and poor planning. I have now purchased, completed and exchanged elsewhere and the process was a doddle. I have also received a message at 10pm (which I appreciate is the estate agent rather than Elevate) this evening asking me if I’d found a property as they’ve finally got the approval from HTB and if I’m still interested that I could get a discount. I find their processes bizarre and unprofessional. Credit where it’s due simply for the audacity.
