I purchased an Elica Nikola Tesla 36" Induction Downdraft Cooktop in February 2022 for $4,859, expecting long-lasting quality from a premium appliance. On July 16, 2025, it completely stopped working.
Here’s what happened:
July 22: Service company diagnosed a failed main board ($155).
August 5: Elica sent a replacement board, but the cooktop still did not work.
August 11: Another repair company (recommended by Elica) determined 4 more parts are needed ($90 visit).
September: Quote for parts/labor/tax totaled $1,206, with no guarantee the unit will even be fixed.
I’ve repeatedly emailed Elica, but have received no response.
This $5,000 cooktop has been unusable for nearly two months, creating major disruption for my family. The lack of reliability and complete absence of customer support has been shocking.
A high-end product should last far longer than three years, and a reputable company should stand behind its products.

Elica replied asking me to “get in touch via their website,” but I have already done that many times. My case is Request ID #28280. My most recent email to Elica Customer Service was on September 10, 2025, and I still have not received a reply.
As of today, my $4,859 cooktop has been unusable for two months. I have already spent $245 on diagnostics, and now face a $1,206 repair estimate with no guarantee the unit will work. Elica has not offered reimbursement, meaningful support, or a real solution.
Buyers should be aware that despite its premium price, this product has proven unreliable and Elica has not stood behind it.

Still no meaningful response from Elica. The repair technician ordered four parts, but one — the main controller, which powers the entire cooktop — is backordered. It’s also visibly burnt out, indicating an internal short. As a result, we are still without a working cooktop, now nearly three months since this issue began.
This is completely unacceptable for a $4,859 appliance marketed as premium quality. Elica has not followed up, offered reimbursement, or taken responsibility for this ongoing failure.

Outstanding service! [Elica]made everything easy and stress-free. I couldn’t be happier and will definitely recommend them. I sourced the part on line(a cooker hood metal grease filter)prior to purchase I was able to check it was correct as the dimensions were provided along with an image. The part was sent from Italy with no issues, it arrived within a week, carefully packaged and undamaged.

I would give zero stars if I could! What an awful company who sell shoddy products not fit for purpose at exorbitant prices. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired too. My advice buy a different brand, this company is shocking!! £129 for a cooker knob! I’m sorry that’s ridiculous. In their reply to my complaint they accused me of abusing the product! How dare they. If cooking on a cooking appliance is abuse then that proves their products are not fit for purpose.

I bought the (Elica Built In Hob) gas stove hoping for reliable cooking, but I've been let down on multiple fronts. Right out of the box, the flame was inconsistent—sometimes barely flickering, other times too high. The frequent underperformance means I’m calling for technician visits almost every few weeks just to adjust or clean the burners.
Each time, I’m charged an inspection/visit fee (₹200–₹500), plus extra for spare parts—even when I'm still within the warranty period. It’s frustrating that a “warranty” item still ends up costing extra for basic servicing. Due to this, the annual maintenance expenses are creeping up, making the cost of ownership feel excessive.
While the design and aesthetics seemed appealing initially, the reality of paying repeatedly for minor fixes has left a sour taste. I expected better durability and hassle-free service from this brand.

I only gave them 1 as that was the lowest I could give. We purchased last year an Elica Lane Black 60cm Cooker Hood and yesterday I tried without success to replace the disposable Activated Charcoal filters. The product itself in my view is poorly designed and you have to work blind because the area is very restricted in size. I am a Pensioner who is waiting for a Hip replacement operation and consequently have very restricted mobility. We simply cannot afford to pay a call out charge every time the filter needs replacing.

I purchased an Elica chimney from Croma five days ago. While the product is fine, the installation service was highly unprofessional:
• The technician arrived unhygienic and smelling bad, making it uncomfortable to allow him inside.
• I was quoted ₹800 for installation but was charged ₹1200 without justification, despite Croma’s website stating the installation kit is included.
• Cellophane tape was used instead of duct tape, and clamps were initially denied, then offered for an extra charge—clearly deceptive.
• The chimney was not installed at the instructed location.
I request immediate re-installation by a trained and professional technician. This experience was far below the standard expected for a premium appliance.
