Rupert was brilliant at helping my daughter rediscover her confidence and grow her knowledge and understanding of Physics (he did also help with the other sciences when she needed it). He was able to break everything down and explain topics and concepts in a clear and logical way that made perfect sense to my daughter. His flexibility allowed her to bring topics to him that she was having particular difficulty with or just reinforce things that she was feeling less confident about. He also helped with GCSE exam technique and deciphering exam questions. He was always patient, calm, supportive and kind. I would say Rupert was instrumental in helping my daughter reach her potential and attain top grades in her Combined Science GCSEs. We couldn't have asked for more!

Rupert tutored my daughter in GCSE Sciences, he is extremely knowledgeable in both the subject matter and exam techniques, and has a great manner that puts students at ease. His sessions were well-structured and engaging, with clear explanations of complex topics that helped build her confidence. Her grades improved significantly as a result. The follow-up materials provided after each session were of excellent quality and proved incredibly valuable.

Rupert was an extraordinary tutor for my son. Having taught the A-level syllabus for Chemistry for years, he had an excellent knowledge of the content and also of the marking framework This was so useful in ensuring that my son could aim for the top grade he needed to get into his University of choice. However, it’s not just Rupert’s subject knowledge which was excellent, it was the manner in which he delivered his sessions. He developed a great rapport with my son, and was often a ‘mentor’ as well as a tutor, as decisions were made about my son’s future career path. Quite often, having planned a specific session, my son would swerve and decide he wanted to look at something else that had caught his attention- sometimes this was Physics and not Chemistry! Rupert’s subject knowledge meant that he was able to adapt his lessons, instantly, to follow this interest and he did this with equal passion and good grace.
I am a teacher, myself, and I know what makes a good one; I cannot recommend Rupert enough- he really is an extraordinary tutor.

I’ll begin by stating that we cannot recommend Rupert highly enough. He tutored our twin daughters’ and one of their friends during their A-Level Physics course in a group of three, and each session with him resulted in their understanding principles that they just hadn’t been able to get to grips with in class. In their own words, “Rupert was always really good at ‘dumbing down’ complex topics, explaining them in a simple & structured manner and using analogies to explain principles we didn’t understand. He prepared clear notes & diagrams, worked examples of past exam questions, and he taught fool-proof exam technique for calculation questions. He was also just really kind and supportive and never got angry or frustrated when it took us a while to understand something. Yeah, he’s just a nice guy! 😊” As parents, we’re very grateful!

Rupert tutored my daughter in year 11 for GCSE triple science. She was able to highlight her areas that needed work and ask questions. Rupert managed to answer all the questions and consolidate my daughter's knowledge and extend it too so she was more interested in the topics and science in general. Her exam technique was improved by Rupert providing 'perfect answer' examples, setting relevant exam question work between the sessions, marking these questions and notating the exam sheets to maximise learning. She achieved the highest grades possible and actually missed doing the tutor sessions once she finished! I would highly recommend Rupert for science tutoring - very effective and engaging for the student.

Rupert tutored my son teaching him Biology, Chemistry and physics during his G.C.S.E's. He really connected with my son making learning, simple and interesting. At the time the school my son went to wanted to push him to do the lower papers so he could guarantee a grade 5. Rupert helped my son excel the schools expectations and encouraged him to strive to achieve his best not just aim for the safe bet.
