Elite Music Camps bring you week-long masterclasses with some of the world's finest musicians! Small groups (5-6 people) stay together in a converted farmhouse in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains in southern Spain. The week is spent learning, playing, talking, eating, drinking and hanging out with world-class tutors: Rob Harris (Guitar - Jamiroquai) Paul Turner (Bass - Jamiroquai) Ash Soan (Drums - Adele, Tori Amos, Snow Patrol) Snake Davis (Saxes - Eurythmics/M-People) Johnny Thirkell (Trumpet - Level 42, Jamiroquai, 38 No.1 Albums) Tom Wakeley (RADA Vocal Coach) Tom Hutchinson - Principal Cornet, Cory Band Whatever instrument you play, whatever level you're at - there's a week for you!
Hill Cottage, Flowers Bottom Lane, HP27 0SX, Speen, United Kingdom
It's all about that bass and the bass camp had plenty, but it was also so much more. Lessons with Paul Turner are not to be missed, and combining that with amazing accommodation, stunning views, and great Spanish food and drink makes it perfect. However, meeting other players from around the world at different levels with a common goal to learn and improve (and have a laugh, share stories and experiences, play dominoes, listen to great tunes.......) makes it better than perfect. And to top it all, Johnny is a wonderful host and accomplished musician so you're looked after better than you could have dreamt and you can learn so much about other aspects of music, practicing, the industry, and approaches to life in general. It is an experience not to be missed, and that single week will shape my approach as a musician and a person for the rest of my life. Roll on the next time!

I've just finished Bass Week 3 and it was everything I'd hoped for and more. The chance to get one-to-one and group lessons with a top pro musician & to meet other like-minded people from around the word is very special. The week was an excellent mix of lessons, practice time, fun. We also visited Granada and walked the Los Corrahos Gorge. Food & drink are excellent and you will benefit enormously whatever level your playing is currently at. I'm leaving with new friends, happy memories, lots of practice material and a clear focus on my next steps.

My fifth time here.....which speaks for itself! Another superb week with Snake, Johnny and fellow students. Brilliant tutors and generally a wonderful atmosphere. Great fun from beginning to end. Snake and Johnny are patient, kind, supportive and always positive. We worked hard and played hard. Looking forward to next year!!!

Excellent workshop, where I was taught everything I wanted to know in such a way that I can take on the material and work further with it. Very professional and very approachable at the same time. If any workshop has ever been worth it, then it is definitely this one. Look no further!

We have just returned from an amazing week at Horn Camp. It has been a privilege to spend time with Johnny and Snake, both incredibly talented musicians who are generous and patient in the tuition they provide.
It was a relaxed environment in a beautiful setting with wonderful food, shared with our lovely fellow musicians.
We also really enjoyed a stunning hike into the gorge and the evening spent in Granada.
Thank you both.

This was was 2nd time at the bass camp with Paul and Johnny. Theres not much I can say that hasnt already been said on here! Paul is obviously un unbelievable player but he is also a great teacher, he is very open and patient and cater's to everones indididual needs. Johnny is a superb host and makes everyone feel welcome in his home for the week. He is full of great stories and anecdotes, also I found his advice on practice routines and cognitive learning to be extremely useful in my own development.
I could go on and on, the great food (thanks Laura!), the stunning location, the many many laughs we had during the week. If your serious about improving your bass playing I couldnt recommend EMC highly enough!

I waited almost 3 years for the opportunity to attend Elite Music Camp's guitar week with Rob Harris and can honestly say it exceeded all expectations. Johnny is an incredible host and top class individual who went above and beyond not only to take care of everyone's needs but also to forge real connections and a wonderful sense of comradery within the group. Rob's humility and easy going nature along with his amazing and vast teaching style was inspiring and offers invaluable learning and growth regardless of level and experience.
I could go on and on but suffice to say that from the gorgeous setting to the delicious food, to the type of people this program attracts from all walks of life, it is an experience like no other and very easy to understand why everyone who attends wants to go back for more - I do too and can't wait for the next one. Thanks Johnny and Rob for one of the best weeks of my life

It's difficult to express how incredibly fun, helpful and well-organised this week was.
Johnny is an amazing host and organiser who is on top of everything, and immediately helps you feel at home in the house.
Paul is simply a fabulous teacher as well as a charming and fun person to be around. He had done a good job of tailoring the one-on-one sessions to the needs of each of us, and was good at making everyone feel safe and confident in the group lessons.
However, it wasn't just the lessons which were top class. The accomodations, the trip to Grenada, the beautiful hike in the mountains, the delicious food from Laura, the relaxed and fun atmosphere, and on and on.
I would highy recommend it to anyone regardless of prior musical experience.

What a fantastic week on the guitar camp with Rob Harris. All my expectations were exceeded. From the accommodation, food and hospitality to the lessons and group sessions themselves, everything was perfect. Johnny is an amazing host, always trying his hardest to make sure we all had everything we needed. Rob's teaching/coaching is also spot on. He has a great ability to home in on things that are really going to advance your playing, whatever level you are at. I have taken away so much from the week and I know that if I put the things I learnt into practice I will improve as a guitarist, but, more importantly, as a musician (and maybe as a person too!)
Combined with great food, great company, amazing scenery, wonderful stories from both Johnny and Rob and a really enjoyable midweek hike, this really is a very special camp. If I can make it happen then I am certainly going to be back in the future.
One last note, if you are concerned about your playing level and thinking you don't have the experience to attend, there really is nothing to be concerned about. Rob's approach genuinely works at any level and you'll definitely get so much from the week irrespective of your ability and goals.

What a week! Thank you Johnny and Snake. Horn Camp is an experience that works whatever your playing credentials, from beginner to professional, everybody improved over the week. Personally I have played at a professional level for 35 years and the course for me was fundamental in its application. Revolutionary, life changing none of these adjectives are over the top for the experience I had.
On top of the fantastic tuition received you receive insight into the inner workings of the best of the best from the world of pop instrumentalists. All this in the fantastic surroundings of the mountains of Spain, being fed fantastic food and enjoying local beer and wine.
I can’t really do this experience justice, my simple response is to say whatever your experience, whatever it is you want to improve in your playing or if you just want to drink in the experience of spending time with two of the most talented and modest musicians you will ever meet, this is the place to go.
In short, get booked up, you will never look back!!!!

I was the only trumpet player at the Horn Camp I attended and it was my first trip abroad on my own. I was quite anxious ahead of the trip but I felt safe the whole time I was away and everyone was really supportive during the week. Pre-arrival comms were great, and Johnny is always really quick to reply to questions no matter how specific! (do I need mutes? no... is there a hairdryer? yes). He also shared plenty of notes and music to support my progress at home.
Our whatsapp group was useful and helped with locating everyone at the airport. We also used it throughout the week to communicate and share photos/videos. And it's great to still be in touch with everyone now.
I felt really comfortable/relaxed throughout the week, even though we obviously worked hard playing music for several hours each day! :) The villa is lovely and the food was delicious (thanks Laura and Pepa). The surrounding location is stunning - I enjoyed our walk to explore the hanging bridges of Los Cahorros and the meal we had out in Granada (I need to visit again!).
It was such an amazing opportunity to have so much 1:1 support and tuition from Johnny. Over the course of 5/6 days I felt my playing improved so much and my confidence has definitely grown. I'm looking forward to continuing to improve using everything I learnt at Horn Camp. It was fun to do some improv and group sessions with the sax players as well. It's been ages since I played in a group - I didn't realise how much I'd missed it. I had 1:1 tuition with Snake one afternoon as well as I'm learning sax - that was really cool too.
As a group of quite different people who didn't know each other on arrival, we all got on well all week. It was nice to chat to everyone and hear about different life experiences and everyone's passion for music. Hopefully one day I'll see them again!
I feel very lucky to have been able to have this experience. It's not often that you can spend a full week just playing and concentrating on music, while learning from such talented and accomplished professionals. Before I went I was feeling stuck in a rut with my playing and like I wasn't able to improve, but I don't feel like that now!
If you can afford to go to an Elite Music Camp, just go for it - you won't regret it. Definitely an amazing experience not to be missed.

I'm inspired! My practice sessions were getting a touch humdrum. After a week's Horncamp I am now motivated and enthused to improve my playing. Johnny and Snake are both brilliant hosts and teachers, but also great company. We had a lovely group, all from different musical backgrounds - I am a reader, but it was really interesting to meet folk who could play by ear rather than depending on the dots. And with such a supportive team around me, I did manage a few little impros! My non-playing husband had a lovely time too, enjoying the company, the pool and nearby Granada.

Possibly the best week of my life! I have just returned from a week with Johnny and Snake on the Horn Camp and it was more like staying with your best friends and jamming all week. It was relaxing, funny and inspiring in equal measure. They are wonderful hosts and impart a wealth of musical knowledge. No matter what level or ability you are, they ensure you feel included and encouraged. I saw a huge difference and improvement in everyone on my course from the start to end, including me! Thoroughly recommend it!

Absolutely super experience for me & my nonplaying wife. Johnny & Snake were very friendly and welcoming, couldn't help but feel relaxed. Lovely villa in a beautiful area. Loads of useful advice and musical techniques demonstrated and practiced. Plenty of time for hands on playing in the group and individually. Would certainly go again.

Just back from a week at the EMC horn camp. A privilege to be taught by such great talents as Snake and Johnny and to be able to spend time with them talking about music, life and anything else. The tuition was brilliant giving students the tools to improve and advise on how to use them. The villa is in stunning location, food was excellent, free flowing beer and wine To cap it all Snake and Johnny would do anything asked of them to make your stay perfect. Plenty to do for non- playing partners as well. A truly memorable experience made even better by the company of other enthusiastic and like minded students

I was a non- playing partner on this wonderful week in a spectacular location. Johnny and Snake were superb hosts - nothing was too much for them. It was a great learning experience for me too!!

You come here looking for a musical experience with two fine tutors who have been there and done it with the best but also they present it with fun enthusiasm and encouragement
The objective is not just to play tunes but to enhance you as a musician and what that entails A really great week of learning opportunities
You then set that in a beautiful villa in the Sierra Nevada with excellent food and good like minded company
