Like so many others, I am having a terrible time with Elite. Only wish I'd checked on Trust pilot before signing up in the first place. They make it almost impossible to find any sort of contact form online; they won't allow you to auto-cancel online without completing the form that you can't find. Absolutely atrocious. I have been charged a renewal fee which I am contesting and will try for a refund but don't hold out much hope based on the comments of others

What a bunch of money grabbing people Elite Singles are!
Having been used to the luxury of companies in the UK being required to inform their customers that subscriptions are being renewed, there is no such courtesy from Elite Singles. Not only do they happily take your money, but on asking for a refund I am informed that I should have read the small print and basically, tough luck! Wow! Such amazing customer service.

I would urge ANYONE looking to join a dating site to give Elite Singles a complete MISS. Their company policies are outdated and serve only to capture individuals into giving them more and more money.

It's a scam. I was charged for renewal even though I have cancelled my membership. And there is no way to contact customer service online.
How is this company still able to operate with so many fraudulent charges and complaints!

I tried to cancel my Membership with 5 months left on it. Wasn't able to delete my account instead was promoted to contact Customer Service. There is no straight forward way to contact Customer Service and whilst I was struggling to do so, I got an email welcoming me be back and demanding £209 subscription fee and yet i never applied to rejoin if anything i am still waiting for my cancellation and deletion to finalise. Total Scam, annoying scammers

Very few profiles within 20 mile radius. Many profiles don't have pictures.
Sending smiles if you like a profile is weird.
Even though I checked membership wasn't renewing, it auto renewed anyway and customer services refused to do anything as I had no proof

If I could give zero stars I would. Elite do not match people to your criteria, from day one I had fake profiles sent through to me by Elite, even when I highlighted a fake profile and reported it to Elite they left the profile online. You cannot search for a potential match yourself you must wait for them to forward you the most awful profiles that are either fake or have been on their site for numerous years with the same age displayed and details. Clearly these profiles are also fake or ‘outdated’. Avoid at all costs, I requested a refund on day 14 and was told that it was a 10 day cooling off period, I subsequently checked this detail and confirmed that legally it is a 14 day cooling off period, when I pointed this out they said I was now outside the 14 day cooling off period and refused a refund.

I cancelled my membership on 22nd July 2022 - having had a payment come out of my account 4 days earlier. I received an email immediately from Elite Singles, saying that my account had been cancelled and would discontinue on 12th August 2022. In December I started receiving threatening emails saying that my payment, due in November, hadn't gone through. (for £149.85) for an account that was closed in July. I hadn't noticed until now as don't use that email - and believed that the account was closed. I am currently engaged in various exchanges of emails with Katie Berns of Customer Services who is saying "As there was no cancellation request made at least 7 days before the renewal of your Premium membership, your subscription automatically renewed for a further term on 15.11.2022." Which doesn't make any sense. Why, when I had confirmation that the account had been cancelled in July - are they seeking to take out a payment in November. Absolute crooks. Don't use Elite Singles.

Would have been good if not for the underhanded auto renewal that is deliberately not clear when signing up.

Terrible functionality and customer service not interested in helping. My experience isn’t as bad as some of the other reviews I’ve read on here, but certainly this app is not worth even a tenth of what they charge. It’s clunky, the matches have dubious compatibility, nearest distance you can set is 50 miles (yet amazing number of profiles north of Yorkshire when I’m in London). They also send suggestions that you’re supposed to decline or reject using one picture only (I thought this was Elite, not Tinder…?! Tinder at least has a line of text!). There’s no way of organising the inbox - if you delete a message you have to also block the person. Got alerted about a fraudulent profile within a week of being on there. I could go on… Finally “customer service” just copy/pasted their T&Cs to me so you’re not treated as a customer and it’s certainly not a service… Maybe written by AI, who knows, though I’m sure AI would make it sound more personal! Fair enough, I missed the deadline by two days so couldn’t get a refund but sounds like the people before me struggled to obtain this even when within the deadline! In a nutshell: an all around depressing experience which will only put you off…

What a WASTE OF TIME! STRONGLY SUGGEST to find a different website... Outrageous.
They make you go through an endless list of questions for you to answer and in the end before they give you access they want you to pay a membership without any free trials option.
Awful.

I tried to sign up. Do not mind paying that much money (a hefty lump sum) for something that is good. But they do not give you chance to decide for yourself if you like it or not. Yes you can cancel and get refudned withing 3 days, IT IS NOT ENOUGH! Give people a chance to find out. I had lots of people contacting me on the first day and I could not see why they are. Possible fakes like on other sites.
Its good I have checked the reviews. Someone suggested 'lets meet here on turstpilot', not a bad idea!

I believe the company is a scam. Avoid. I cancelled my subscription well before the end and lost access. They then charged me a full annual subscription, which I disputed via Amex. They are now threatening legal action, which I shall happily ignore. But it really should be better regulated as it is clearly playing the game. Aside from that the user experience is terrible. So just avoid it.

This is absolute rubbish lots of money for tat you cannot view people you are given people who match your profile. How is someone in Glasgow going to be ok for someone 200 miles away. Get real your choices for me are not my choices

Biggest scam Ever! Unfortunately I did not read these reviews, before I signed up to Elite. They are absolutely a scam! They don't allow you to cancel your renewal subscription is how they scammed me. True!..most of their profiles are fake. Beware that they use old profiles without authorization the member. I honestly don't how they are able to operate as a business with such deceit! The purpose is to scam you out of your money. that's the bottom line!

Absolute and 110% Con, Swindle, Scam, impersonators, Sham, Deception attempt etc, etc, etc....!. False claims of persons interested or sending a smile, click on the LINK and nothing or anyone to contact. Customer Service refutes any fraudulent activity on the site, they claim "on things like this times happen., they also say people remove profiles once messages sent", does this not suggest ill intent or fraudulent activity? - contact your bank, and break the link with this organisation. Keep your wits about you, this site is NOT what it advertises, OR perhaps some of its users are generated by the firm itself to keep fee-paying customers hooked?, so it seems the company is making Little or NO attempt to put algorithms in place to prevent criminal activity?.....

It’s a scam. Lots of profiles with no pictures. This is probably why the money is taken up front and there is no actually interaction with anyone. Worse money I have ever spent. The website itself it poor and makes it extremely difficult to make any changes / update profile. I wouldn’t recommend this dating website to anyone.

Absolutely rubbish. Stay away from this site! Took another 3 months payment from me without prior notice. No 'cancel subscription' button to easily stop membership continuing. You've to put in a written email request for cancellation of membership.
Aside from all this the 'matches' and algorithm for me was ridiculous! People from another country kept coming up, nobody suitable in my area matching my original questionnaire.

Well, this is not a review but I was just signing up on Elitesingles and then thought of reading the reviews. Thank you all for the reviews, I could've lost some money. Also, seeing that there are many other people like me looking for matches, Trustpilot can just be our meeting point. Like and comment here if you're also tired of these scamming dating platforms.

Utter rubbish. Autorenew without notice, no right of appeal, so you're locked in for another six months. The only thing 'elite' is the name, most of the matches are miles away, and utterly unsuitable. Truly dreadful. AVOID.
