EcoGreen Peat-Free Compost is ideal if you are looking for a peat free planting medium. It is made from organic waste and fine bark to aid water retention. The compost is suitable for potting on, rooted cuttings, container plants, bedding plants and more. It contains a nutrient rich formula to encourage healthy, colourful plants. It is ideal for pots, tubs, hanging baskets, raised beds, planters, borders, etc. EcoGreen Peat-Free Compost is suitable for fruit, vegetables, shrubs, bedding plants, perennials, trees and most other plants. Before planting, work your hands through the compost and mix well while wearing gloves so that any lumps are broken down. Always keep any container plants well watered, particularly during dry weather, your soil should be moist but not soaking. Avoid over watering as this can drain away nutrients. The compost is suitable for use all year round, however if you have any freshly planted container plants, protect them if there is a chance of frost using a frost fleece. Why not use our Elixir Gardens Frost Fleece? You can also use EcoGreen Peat-Free Compost as a top dressing and as a soil improver. For a top dressing, spread a 4cm -8cm thick mulch over your existing soil to help suppress weeds and give your plants some nutrients. For a soil improver, mix your peat free compost with your soil to help encourage healthy plants. This compost is not suitable for ericaceous plants.
