Perlite is specifically made for horticulture. It will never rot or degrade and can be recycled and used again and again. It is pH neutral, and ready to use. Perlite acts as a natural filtration system, allowing excess water to easily drain away while retaining a little moisture and holding the nutrients the plants need to grow. This makes it perfect for Cacti and Succulents and any plants that need their soil / compost to dry out between watering. Application Rates: Create a 5% to 40% perlite mix when using with compost, peat moss or coir. Can be used at 75% to 100% mix when used for hydroponics or green roofs. Please Note: 20L and 50L bags of Perlite have a slightly larger grade size of 3mm - 6mm and are supplied in Elixir Gardens branded packaging. Trustpilot

A bit dusty so you have to be careful not to inhale the dust - otherwise it is going to aerate my potting compost.
