Elka is an award winning family run weaving & natural dye studio based in the South of the UK with a focus on teaching, both online and in-person, and sustainability. We have a range of online, self-paced weaving and natural dyeing courses which are all available with starter kits which are lovingly wrapped in recyclable packaging. Our courses will teach you everything you need to know to get set up and crafting from the comfort of your own home. Our frame weaving (aka tapestry weaving) courses are available with a weaving starter kit in a choice of nine different colour ways and two different loom sizes. They contain all the equipment and materials you need to set up your loom and start weaving beautiful pieces. Our natural dyeing kits contain all the ingredients you'll need to start experimenting at home, including enough dyestuff (weld for yellows and madder for reds) to dye around 200g of fibre, either plant (cellulose) fibre, or animal (protein) fibre. Alongside our online courses we also have a growing collection of shorter craft tutorials on our Youtube channel. We are passionate about sharing the love of our crafts through teaching.

Beautiful rainbow bag
I've acquired this beautiful bag to gather all of my computer-related accessories. I might use it for something else later but for now I find it perfect to protect chargers, external hdd, audio headset and so on and so forth and have them all in the same place for when I travel and need my creative tools all in a row. First and foremost, I chose to buy from Elka because of their commitment to eco-friendly craft and because I just love hand-made stuff and try to make my own bags when I can. But sometimes, I also like to buy from the masters and mistresses of the craft with the added bonus that doing so, I support small businesses that rock ;) But, going back to the bag: it's soft and and just the right thickness; impeccable craftwomanship that will last forever, I'm sure. Excellent packaging and fast delivery, in case these are important to you (good packaging would have been enough for me, but the maker(s) obviously love their work as much as I do). And have I already said it was beautiful?

Gorgeous yarns
Gorgeous yarns, well packaged and sent very quickly.
I received so much of the flax/ linen top that I was amazed at the fantastic value for money.
The autumn yarn and fibre pack was a great choice as there is so much variety, definitely recommend buying a pack of different colours.
