Love this butter dish! This will be my husband's Easter gift. The saying on the lid (DON'T LET THE CAT GET THE BUTTER) is perfect because when my husband was growing up, the cat did get the butter several times and he was not happy about that.

Purchased the butter dish as a replacement for one where I had dropped the top. Thought I was getting a like for like but new dish is significantly smaller and thinner pottery finish. Lid handle is harder to grip and the design means it is harder to get to the butter without catching the knife in the side. Loved my old one but the new one is a significant drop in usefulness, quality and value for money. Will be returning as in my view it’s not adequately fit for purpose
