Im estimating 1/3 of the course was relevant to NYS Licensing. Im ok with the fair housing. Much of the rest was NAR propaganda. Confusing the requirements of NYS law and what NAR thinks is ethical. NAR is in no position to dictate ethics after their $5.3B jury verdict against them for violations of Federal law. Also, I don't need their advice on marketing. And their contract advice suggesting placing a clause regarding class action is laughable. They claim they don't give legal advice then turn around and give legal advice. Bad legal advice at that. Im estimating at least 15 out of 22.5 hours of my time was wasted on nonsense.

Very easy to navigate and the modules were sized well so not too overwhelming. Good checks for understanding.

Excellent continuing education experience. Very helpful and quick.

The course focused on the main topics throughout each session. Most courses would discuss a lot of things but the quizzes/tests had questions that were unrelated

I've used I.C.E. to complete con ed online for the past 10 years or so and was notified that Empire would be the new platform. I contacted Empire via chat to ask a few questions and the response was immediate and my questions were answered. Yesterday I completed the two courses I purchased and was very happy with the entire experience. I did like I.C.E but I must say this platform was even more user friendly and the best part was it offered the chance to save my progress and continue later. I will definitely continue using Empire.

A few reasons: Too much emphasis on NAR even though at least half the US realtors are not members of NAR; the same for NYS where about half the realtors are not members of NAR. There were a number of glaring typos in the lessons, and at least one as a header to a section: it listed the word "Intact" as "In Tact". This should never happen. Further, the course on ethics felt as if it was directly quoted from the NAR code of ethics. As to the exam questions, there were too many "what' questions rather than "why". "What" doesn't test knowledge, nor did the few questions which asked for dates. If exam questions are properly written, the "why" can be solicited very simply. As a NYS instructor teaching the entire real estate sales course, and some continuing education as well, I use dates as a reference to the whats and whys, not as an end-all by themselves. I have two more years to determine whether I'll entrust Empire with my CE again.
