Veineda - Likely Chinese Counterfeit AMD GPUs
I purchased a Veineda GPU from an AliExpress vendor who marketed it as an AMD Veineda RTX 580 GPU. After receiving the card and checking it's specifications, I opened a dispute:
1. The card did not match RTX 580 specifications;
2. Veineda is not listed on AMD's website as an authorized manufacturer, even though the card was marketed as both "AMD" and "RTX" brands - the actual box that arrived did not have AMD anywhere on it or the card;
3. The card did not match the advertisement's specifications for shaders, number of cores, TMUs, etc.(had bought 2 GPUs and both did not match the specifications in GPU-Z readout, so it wasn't just a one-off problem).
Aliexpress and the vendor made me jump through hoops for 3 months. I had to record a video of installing their drivers(which is a 20-minute process per card) and showing that the specifications were not correct. The drivers are also not correct, showing 1002 at the beginning of the device ID, which means it is manufactured by AMD/ATI. AMD/ATI stopped manufacturing GPUs directly over 10 years ago.
If you purchase a GPU from Veineda, be sure to check the GPU-Z Specifications, that they match the product specs advertised. Also, be sure to check Nvidia or AMD's website for authorized manufacturers. Veineda is not listed. Do not buy unless you are aware of this.
