I use Wiktionary often, and find it invaluable

I use Wiktionary often. It is not as comprehensive as the Oxford English Dictionary but, given that it is free, it is remarkably good. It is certainly better than the great majority of online dictionaries, especially in providing well discussed and evidenced etymologies.

The reviewer who described an entry as racist does not seem to understand how dictionaries work. A good dictionary describes how words are used (and have been used) even when that usage is offensive. Wiktionary is good at flagging potentially offensive use of words.

Open racism at its ugliest

In your posting of the so-called 'definition' of the word "jew", not only have you wantonly displayed an ignorant, obviously incorrect and ridiculous definition, and a completely offensive, racist, and intolerant comment on an entire group of people, but you have also managed to completely invalidate your entire site as any type of credible source for any definition of ANYTHING ever. I, personally, will do my utmost, with everyone I know, or am in contact with by any and all venues and means available to me, to completely discredit and discourage any use of your site to define any term or words, and I strongly urge you to post not only a disclaimer to this abomination, but a full retraction and public apology for its display. The very fact that such a thing can be done with this tech, in our times, is totally unacceptable and repulsive to anyone and everyone who believes in any sort of mutual respect and tolerance for all people and ethnicities. The truth is that, if this is how you choose to run and administer your site, or allow this trash, the site should be taken down.

I just love this website

I just love this website. Wiktionary is a great source of knowledge, full of in-depth etymologies, wikipedia-like simplicity and translations to many other languages. The best usability overall.
