Put your money to work fighting climate change. Target up to 8% annual returns investing in companies that provide solar energy access to African families. Start with as little as £50. Don’t invest unless you’re prepared to lose all the money you invest. This is a high - risk investment and you are unlikely to be protected if something goes wrong.

Clear and helpful info on website, which works efficiently and logically. Investment opportunities are explained well and are very worthwhile in terms of the climate and person benefits. It's brilliant that they provide this service to enable people to lend their money to energy development that makes a difference

Several of my investments have been written off. Energise Africa's latest figures show that 18.3% (~£8m) of total ~£44m borrowing at mid-2025 was either payments overdue or completely written off.

I feel my investments do more good than just donating to charity. The interest covers the costs of failed investments.

Great to be able to invest and help people in Africa

Easy to use. I have been investing a small amount of money for some time. One of the projects failed but overall I have made money.

Easy to set up through the website, plus telephone support that was also easy to access.

I have invested in 26 companies on the platform since 2017. Investments have been written down or remain in arrears for 9, and recovery rates have been at the lower end of estimates with updates typically communicating downgrades or extensions. My overall return is slightly negative. I was reluctant to commit significant sums at the outset and spread my investments across companies and feel that approach was sensible as investments on the platform are essentially philanthropic: the interest rates offered would have needed to be at least 5% higher to have adequately compensated risks on the basis of my experience, at least.

If you lower the carbon footprint of a continent the size of Africa, that can only be good for the planet. Energise Africa are doing just that, very well indeed. Feel good about what your investment is funding.

It's good to invest in projects that really make a difference. The projects are clearly explained and the website is easy to use. I've invested in over twenty projects over the years. Out of these, one project hasn't met the repayment schedule - it remains to be seen whether it will make the final payment or not, but that's the risk you take with an IFISA. If I lose money, I'm happy to know that it will still likely have improved people's lives.

Who made this website? It's lit, Bro!!!
I love investing with energised Africa, it's so easy, and although I hate capitalism and colonialism (inc. neocolonialism, obvs), it is good to know that these investments are actually useful to real people, and until the revolution that supplants, it with a more equitable system, this is probably the least unethical thing you can do with surplus income except simple charity.
