Airborne Jacket for Summer Riding
I bought the Airborne jacket as a summer riding jacket. I was worried that it would be too hot for me. I tend to heat up in 70 degrees (fahrenheit) with a T-shirt on. So, I have a really low tolerance for heat. But while riding this jacket, gives me enough air flow to survive the heat, while also giving me the protection I need to keep my skin should I crash.
Shipping time wasn't bad , especially considering the slowdown of recent times.
The packaging was impressive.
5/5 for sure, I've already recommended Enginehawk to a few friends and I intend to get a winter riding jacket from them too.
knucklehead review - large
Ordered the knucklehead and .50 cal jackets in large. Im 5.11 and 205lbs with 112cm chest and the knucklehead fits pretty much perfectly ... very comfortable with a t-shirt - ok perhaps bordering on the tight side with a hoodie underneath but to be honest think going up to xl would just be way too loose. The .50 cal as its awaiting a stock refill so hope to get that in the next month or so but the knucklehead is awesome, packaging top quality and really feels like a high end product. Good service - so no complaints.
Amazing
From the start, EngineHawk has been amazing. Creating a unique underground experience to having people sign NDA's to creating a private Facebook group, they nailed this rollout. I ordered 2 jackets from their initial launch and they are nothing short of amazing. The fit, the quality, the feel, the size, everthing is superb.
Fast shipping
Bought the knucklehead. Fast shipping, easy to order, excellent product. Sizing chart bang on.
I love my raptor armoured hoodie
I love my raptor armoured hoodie. It is amazing. It has good ventilation, premium materials. Inside pockets are handy. I will be buying more merchandise in the future as well. I may be upgrading the armour and buying the thermal bomber too. Thx again. Cheers
Texture
Sorry, the English is not good. Ruroc's helmets and Enginehawk's clothes are very textured, but Asians and Americans have different head and body shapes, from bones to body shapes, and the size indications are not so. Careful, there is no agent who can try on and try on. Many people in other Asian countries will hesitate in the choice of clothes. They will buy products that love you very much. Go and place a bet, like me personally. I bought a ruroc helmet and bought three more Enginehawk jackets. If I bought it wrong, I could only resell it at a low price. In fact, it is quite recommended that you can use it in other Asian countries (China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan) according to your considerations in the future. , It’s okay) to establish an agency or manufacturing, and open up a production line specially developed for Asian human body, and then increase or decrease the output according to the future marketing situation and the degree of response. I believe that you have been improving product quality and excellent service. Will definitely open up more futures, bless you
The Raptor Lived Up to the Hype
I bought the Raptor and I love it. I was looking for a summer riding jacket that didn’t look like a motorcycle jacket, and this is perfect. The SAS-TEC armor used is really flexible so you can hardly tell it’s there (riding or chilling), and the overall fit and quality of the materials feels very premium. I would say that you’re definitely getting what you see - a sweet, protective, high-quality motorcycle riding hoodie.
Absolutely great products and overall…
Absolutely great products and overall experience!
Love my .50 cal!
I bought the .50cal and the hoodie,both…
I bought the .50cal and the hoodie, both size small, and I honestly can't believe the quality and material of the jacket! super comfy and fits perfectly! I'm 5"8 small, skinny guy so the jacket size was perfect with some extra room to wear the EH hoodie and man everything looks classy, the amount of good comments I've got when wearing the jackets were unreal!, never doubted you guys!! Keep it up!! Will keep doing business with EH and RR
5/5 on Quality, Comfort, & Style
Ordered my jacket on launch day, received it earlier then expected which was great! Quality of the jacket is fantastic, fits great, has longer sleeves which works great on a motorcycle. It is definitely a heavy jacket but it’s not uncomfortable to wear. I’m in Newfoundland, Canada and it Blocks out the wind perfectly. My only complaint really is it didn’t come with a coat hanger.. because of the weight of the jacket my standard wire coat hangers aren’t holding up well. Besides that 5/5 on quality, comfort, and style.
Looks Amazing Top Quality Construction
Despite the issues with DHL on the initial launch day order (keep your order under $800 before any discounts if ordering in the US) the support was top notch and while I hope they consider a different shipping partner in the future everything that Enginehawk did was great. The leather is great quality and construction by their Indonesian team is also excellent. Lots of cool little details and you can barely tell the armor is there but you know it will protect you if anything happens.
I got the predator
I got the predator. Ordered up a size based on what I normally wear versus what the website fitting guidelines had shown and I'm happy with what I ordered. The predator is naturally a bit difficult to get on and off but not the end of the world. The jacket is comfortable once on and the vents allow for plenty of cooling air flow while riding in the heat. Definitely wouldn't wear it sitting around in the sun, but once moving on the bike it's perfect. Also, the predator looks absolutely amazing. Couldn't be happier about that! And lastly the Enginehawk/Ruroc customer support team is fantastic. Keep up the great work!
Amazing jackets and great buying experience
I took a risk and bought 2 of the textile jackets, the Predator and the Raptor. Some overlap for sure but I couldn’t say no to an anorak moto jacket. I also got the Thermal Bomber and 2 packs each of the CE2 level armor to replace the CE1 level that shipped with the jackets. Most of my current gear is sporty and leather so I wanted something different from that but not really in the retro/cafe style that seems to be the most common alternative. Definitely a big risk given that I had never heard of the company before seeing previews of the gear online, and ordering from the UK with all the drama could cause if I needed to return something.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that everything came correctly as ordered given how many items I ordered and that all 3 of the clothing items were perfectly constructed. I didn’t find any loose seams which was a relief. Everything truly looked top notch. Changing out the armor was a simple task and the thinness of the Level 2 armor is great. Would’ve been nice to also get a Level 2 back protector but I have my own that I can wear if need be. The style is off the charts. Glad to see a new presence in the space and look forward to seeing how the future offerings develop. Might pick up the .50 Cal or Hawkeye. Would be great to see XS offered as a size.
Shipping was fast once it went out the door but there was a couple days delay from the time of order to that point. But considering that it came from the UK I can’t complain. Probably could have done themselves a favor without the “get it in 2 days!” claim. I reached out to customer service about it and they responded quickly and told me when it would go out (it did when they said it would), which was good for my peace of mind since I was excited to get everything. To be honest what killed me was the customs fees. Getting these available to additional retailers, like RevZilla, would be incredible in solving that issue.
I didn’t really pay attention to the hype videos beyond trying to get a better look at the jackets but they were kind of cheesy really hyping the paper. Details are great for sure and part of the package but paper is paper and the gear is what really matters. I suppose that’s influencer marketing for you. Not a big deal to me though.
All in all, I had a very positive experience with Enginehawk and look forward to seeing how the brand develops. Hopefully things improve for the other customers waiting on stock to replenish and those thinking of buying with some of the launch hype out of the way.
Happy riding!
.50 CAL all day!
While I'm waiting on my Ruroc Atlas 3.0 and bike to arrive, I did manage to throw on my new Enginehawk .50 CAL jacket. Not only did that fresh leather hit the nostrils like brisk cold morning morning upper, but I managed to get my wife excited about my new look. Can't wait to put this thing to the test soon. In the meantime, walking around the house and neighborhood has me feeling like Jason Statham.
The best you can dream
The best you can dream, really quality products and a killer look, thanks a lot Enginehawk!
I was very reluctant to by any leather…
I was very reluctant to by any leather sight unseen. I asked many questions about returns and got the answers I was looking for but still nervous. When I received my Iron head shirt. I was impressed from the very beginning. I am 200lbs and 6ft. Slim waist and broad shouldered and ordered a large. The shirt fits great. I went and inspected every seam and stitch. Flawless craftsmanship and the leather quality is top notch. Can't wait to get some mileage on the thing and broken in. I will say some of the snaps where pretty tight at first, but with more use. I think this con will work itself out. I am very happy and would purchase from them again stress free.
Love this jacket
I ordered the Hawkeye UV, I love this jacket. The leather and overall quality feel amazing, and they look even better. Movement and fit are great as well. Absolutely no effort zipping up the jacket when you're wearing a hoodie, and the elastic back actually works. You can't really feel the sas-tec protection in the jacket when wearing it even though, it is in there. If you take the protection out you could wear the thing wherever you want with comfort. I have to say, I'm a big fan of Enginehawk (and Ruroc!).
Enginehawk first impressions - okay
This is a review of my experiences when purchasing Enginehawk gear. I intend to post another review of Enginehawk apparel once enough time has elapsed for the clothing to be properly ride tested.
The good - the jackets seem generally well made. Some stitching had come undone on the cuff of one jacket before I even took it out on the road but it should be a small fix and I would rather get this re-sewn locally than go through the process of returning the jacket and having to wait for a replacement. The items are in the medium to high end category with prices to match (the cheapest being US$329 and the most expensive US$499). My textile jackets, while at the lower end of the price range, feel hard-wearing yet very comfortable and they fit me well. They are stylish and Enginehawk seem to have achieved their goal of producing items that look good both on and off the bike.
The bad - Enginehawk seem to be big on hype but don't always follow up on delivering the expectations of their customer base.
As part of the build up to the lauch of the apparel Enginehawk admins made a number of claims - for example that customers would receive next day delivery if ordering on launch day, or that there would be a fast and free returns service (Enginehawk jackets are only available online so prospective purchasers cannot try clothing for size before buying).
A few days after launch, with some customers having received their items but many still awaiting a dispatch email or others wanting to return an ill-fitting item and finding they were expected to pay the return shipping, Enginehawk admins attempted to respond to queries by firstly stating that what had been promised was next day dispatch and 48 hour delivery (yet this still did not fit with those awaiting a dispatch notice 3, or more, days after placing their order) and that returns would be 'hassle free.' A number of disgruntled Taskforce members then posted screen captures of the actual text stating 'next day delivery for all orders placed on April 27th' and the promise of 'fast and free returns' when prospective customers had asked "what if my jacket doesn't fit"? Admins then directed unhappy customers to email Enginehawk customer services with their complaints preferring to respond only to those who had received their items by telling them how great they looked in the photos of them wearing their apparel.
Level 2 armor - it seems an oversight on the Enginehawk website led to a description of the level 2 armor upgrade as including back armor. This was changed a few hours after launch but not before a number of purchases had been made. Again, Enginehawk admins responded to queries by stating that the level 2 armor pack contained only elbow and shoulder armor and that the level 2 back armor didn't even exist yet but would be available separately further down the line. Unhappy customers complained that this was not right and that it is an illegal practice to later alter the description of an item offered for sale. One of the Enginehawk admins then promised that if customers had bought the armor upgrade pack before the text was amended then Enginehawk would make good on that and supply the level 2 back armor, at no additional cost, once it is available. This declaration was not made widely known by Enginehawk in a formal announcement however and it was down to the Facebook group members to 'spread the word' themselves.
In the end I received my order two weeks after placing it (within 15 minutes of the much-hyped launch). Enginehawk customer services explained that demand had been so great on launch day that they had actually sold out and had to await new stock (yet the website was not able to cope with the speed of orders and had consequently shown items as available when they were already sold out).
The indifferent - Enginehawk is big on hype and customer experience but needs to concentrate more on the basics of customer service. An awful lot was made of the 'unboxing experience' but, at the end of the day, its just a printed cardboard box and Enginehawk branded paper. Enginehawk has created an enormously devoted following on the Taskforce Echo Hotel group. The company has done on good job in making these devotees feel a part of something (a 'revolution' against the motorcycle apparel industry). Basic customer service done reasonably well is deemed as 'out of this world.' (The company gets it wrong, the customer complains, the company puts it right. Basic, bare minimum, decent customer service that you'd rightly expect. Nothing more, nothing less.
Is this really the start of a revolution? Has Enginehawk really created a range of ground-breaking apparel?
Well, probably not. Time will tell if the jackets live up to the hype, which is something Enginehawk is undoubtedly good at.

One of the most comfortable jackets.
This is one of the most comfortable jackets I have gotten. It highly exceeded my expectations and I love it.
