Absolute frauds!!

Absolute frauds!!!

Bought an engine from them and it is a complete dog! Once the "reconditioned engine" had been fitted it started leaking oil straight away from THREE places, this cost me an additional £500 to rectify and it has been leaking oil ever since. I have now been told its a problem with the crank hence why it is leaking, so guess what... A new engine is required.....

When I rung OD to complain I was told it's not their problem and to contact the third party direct. They done NOTHING.

FUMING.

be careful

This company is only an agency. it takes a deposit then gives you a number for a company that rebuilds engines.
I ordered an engine from them and paid the deposit as they said i could have it within five days. they gave me the number of the company to get in contact with. The company did not even have the engine and they would need to locate one? This would take 4 weeks as minimum. I then contacted EnginesOD and asked for my money back the email i received from them basically said. you would need to get legal advice and that would cost far more than the deposit you have given us.

bought an engine a month ago, subbed out to a builder which is fine. zero support from enginesOD. engine's not turned up, contractor they have building the engine doesn't answer the phone more often than not and when they do they'll call back in 10.....
called into enginesOD and apparently they can only deal with sales over the phone anything else has to be by email. been over a month now, beyond a joke

also have a disclaimer at the bottom of their emails which negates the entire point off paying a premium and going through a broker *****We cannot provide resolutions for any third-party supplied goods but the mechanic sender company will often provide a Fast and Fair solution based on any Genuine evidence provided to them...******

Avoid at all costs!!!!!

After paying a deposit they refused to give me a full refund when I contacted them to cancel my order. The customer service is appalling. They refuse to talk over the phone about any issues.
Luckily I payed through PayPal and claimed my money back.

Very poor, wouldn't use again

I bought an engine (Focus 1.6TDCi (DV6)) through EOD that was advertised as having done 48,711 miles. I was expecting a reasonably new engine from a write off. It had been washed, had clearly done more, was 13 yrs old & the sump was full of filthy, thick carbonised oil. I only found this out after it blew the turbo, just out of warranty. I have since spent a fortune on it. I have researched extensively these units & this typically happens around the 120,000 mile mark. They say verified mileage, but it’s not. EOD says ‘trusted supplier sends us pictures of the clocks on the car’, not proper evidence like MOT history, so not really a trustworthy system at all. YOU, the customer get no proof at all & this is false advertising. After a lot of emails, their supplier agreed there must have been an issue & would supply a like for like unit at ½ price (as originally advertised) but this has turned out to be 12 yrs old & another high mileage unit. Worst experience with cars I’ve ever had!

They genuinely seem to care

My engine arrived fast and in decent condition. I had it installed and it started to give me bother past the warranty date. Enginesod weren't legally binding to give me any refund or help me out as my warranty expired but in the end they gave me a partial refund and offered to try and get me another engine at a discounted rate. I already had my car sorted by then so I didn't need another engine. Although I had a hiccup with my engine I can honestly say that enginesod tried there best to make it right even though they had no obligation to do so.

Avoid - Did not find a local engine supplier and refused to give me a refund.

I would not use this company! All you will find is that they happily take your money but will refused to give it back if anything goes wrong. They took £250 from me and all I got was a load of disgusting emails back. They are taking advantage of people in a desperate situation.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!! Unless you want to be out of pocket even more than you already are with your engine problems and have a load of abuse to go along with it.

Find yourself a decent local mechanic who can source and fit an engine for you and give you a full warranty on both parts and labour!

These people will take your money and do not deliver! No refunds! Be warned!

Emails from them:

Hi S___,

M___ has explained that your garage don't feel confident fitting the engine once rebuilt. That's not our problem or m___. Sorry to be blunt but we are extremely busy and have dedicated time km the schedule (turning down other deals as we can only do do much) hence why any deposit is strictly none refundable.

* We suggest you find another local mechanic to fit the engine or walk away from the deal.

* We take his seriously because you'd is money as you'll understand being in business.

Either let M___ know of the new delivery address or walk away. If you go ahead we will do all we can to proceed asap for you ...

Best wishes,

Your CAR back to Normality !

Hi Sir / Sean,

As you are probably ' Unaware ' that the distance selling regulations apply to goods not Deposits for goods or Reservations EG Hotel Reservations.

As we have said Deposits are not refundable and just to remind you we have recorded all calls even to our mechanics mobile which clearly includes you mentioning that the garage are not confident in fitting the engine - which like we said is not our concern.

We have tried to help you locate other fitting engines but if you have decided to order from another company you will loose the deposit that reserves the work , parts on order and time required into the schedule. Work gets turned away once certain days are booked in and thats why we will not refund deposits.

We are happy to use this as an example and also review how you are to work with too online if required. We could offer a good will gesture of £100-00 which you must accept within 24 hours as it will not be repeated at our managers discretion. REPLY accept and close the dispute or leave it. Thanks.

(Unreal customer 1-in-10,000+)

Hi Sir,

- - - We never promised a Local supplier for that particular reconditioned engine type and the engine Service you placed a £250 Deposit on was for the : Pickup ,Rebuild & Redelivery of your current engine - which is to this very day still Fully explained on the website prior to purchase.

You are entitled to an Opinion but from more than 10'000+ deals we have has never dealt with such an abusive and unreasonable person. Because the Deposit you paid was used to buy Specific parts for your engine type And VALUABLE TIME was booked into our mechanics busy schedule, it was not refundable - this is well within the UK law that states that Deposits are not refundable as they are paid to promise to go ahead with planned work and they do incur costs.

You fail to mention that we did offer you a Good will gesture of : £150-00 which we believe is fair when you suddenly tried to cancel the already begun work.
We expect all customers to take responsibility for their actions just as we do for EVERY engine deal. If there's a Genuine problem ? ...we will always offer a FAST & FAIR solution... Best wishes, EnginesOD

Good engine.

Having ordered an engine which in fact was not suitable for the car for which it was intended (my error) EnginesOD were quick to contact us and point me in the right direction and to the correct engine model.
We did have a small issue with the delivery period which was out of the hands of EnginesOD and then a small issue with the engine it'self.
However, EnginesOD called me to discuss what had happened and were very understanding of the problem.
The gentleman who called explained that EnginesOD is a family business and that quality of service and customer satisfaction is top priority for them - I can say that this was evident in their after sales service.
The engine is now fitted and runs very well indeed !
