I am disgusted with C-trip and their …

I am disgusted with C-trip and their complete inadequate ability to serve their customers. I gave them a second chance after a nightmare incident with a trip I took from Japan to Hong Kong. So this is my second time to file a bad review on this company.

I booked another flight with C-trip hoping the first trip I booked was just an over sight after they contacted me for writing a bad review. That most definitely was a horrible idea and I will be telling every person I know to never use this company.

I live on a US Navy base in Japan and I booked a flight from Japan to Korea several weeks in advanced. Unexpectedly a Typhoon was headed our direction. After receiving notice from the base that everything was being shut down, including all shuttles to the airport, I took a military flight to Korea two days earlier than the flight I had booked with C-trip.

The flight I had booked was a round-trip flight. Before I left, I called C-trip and C-trip told me if the Typhoon hit our area, flights would be rescheduled. I told them I was thinking about getting an earlier flight as not to riski not being able to get to Korea on time. They said I would have to pay a rebooking fee, I also wanted to make sure I would be able to fly back and not lose my returned flight. I told them not to cancel my flight as I wanted to monitor where the Typhoon was headed.

As I mentioned, once the base sent out notices that the base was shutting down, I booked a military flight to Korea. The Typhoon was a direct hit to Tokyo and as expected, transportation from NAF Atsugi was suspended. There would have been no way to get to Narita Airport two and half hours away in Atsugi.

My flight was not cancelled but transportation to the airport was. There was wide spread flooding and damage to the train stations and until they were deemed safe, routes were suspended.

Once, I got settled in Korea, I called the airlines to find out if my flight had been cancelled and I informed them I booked another flight to Korea. They told me the flight was not cancelled. I informed them I still wanted to keep my return flight the same. The airline company informed me if I missed my flight to Korea I would lose my return flight with no refund. The airlines told me if I had booked with them instead of a travel agency, they could have made alernate arrangements. They told me to contact the travel agency.

I immediately called C-trip and could not get an English speaking person. I had my Korean friend translate my dilemma and C-trip told him, they couldn't do anything, I needed to call the airline that C-trip was only a travel agent. He tried to explain the what the airline had told me earlier. Finally he demanded that we spoke to an English speaking person. C-trip said someone would call us back shortly.

After three and half hours and no phone call, I called the airline back. While I was talking to the airlines, C-trip finally called me back on my Korean friend's phone. This time in English they kept telling me it was the airline's responsibility not their responsibility. I had the airline on speaker on my phone and they could hear the conversation. So the airline told C-trip they had to make changes.

C-trip changed their tune and immediately said they would have someone from management call me back. I thanked the airline and hung up. I told C-trip if I didn't hear back I would be going to the US Navy's Legal department.

Two hours later C-trip called back. They still refused to budge and continued to blame the airlines. I argued to no avail. I demanded to speak to upper management, and upper management asked for proof that transportation was suspended. I emailed them the proof and I never heard back from them.

Yesterday someone called and said they were going to give me a partial refund and my returned flight would be cancelled. The refund was only equivalent to $50 USD dollars. I am now stuck in Korea having to book another flight at my expense.

The reason for this trip was to meet the USS Reagan as our boats came to port in Korea. I have reached out to other friends who used Expedia, and other travel agencies and NONE of them had issues with rebooking their flights. I am talking well over a dozen of my friends. C-trip is the only company who has refused to help their customers.

When I get back to Japan, I will be going to base legal directly. In the meantime, I will be sharing this on social media to everyone I know. I will also make sure the military black list C-trip.

What happened to customer service??

What happened to customer service??? Booked a flight for my 75 y/o mother and it was too late to realize the 16 hours layover. Asked them if they can change to an earlier connecting flight but was told ticket was NON-CHANGEABLE as per policy. I have never heard such policy, not in Canada at least, where customers have options to choose. Not too happy with it!

IF I COULD GIVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW, I WOULD!!!! Avoid Ctrip at all cost!

Booked a ticket with sky scanner of the first time seeing as Ctrip (an affiliated travel agency with skycanner) was offering my siem reap cambodia to manila, philippines flight for $10 less. When I purchased the ticket, they said to wait a few hours for confirmation. After an hour or so, they emailed me saying the booking was cancelled. Since I needed a ticket, I decided to buy directly to the actual airline (Cebu Pacific) instead. After booking my new ticket with Cebu Pacific, I got this email from Ctrip stating they have confirmed my book (2hours after)--now I have 2 tickets for the same trip! Lousy company refused to refund me for a booking that was clearly their fault! this company has NO BALLS to own up to a mistake they clearly made. This company is a JOKE and a SCAM! They don't want to shell out the extra cash to fix their mistake. I will never book Ctrip or with Skyscanner again!

Better than expected...

Better than expected...

I used SKYSCANNER as always to book a local EU flight from London to Brussels and they transferred me to CTRIP whom I had never heard of before. After making the booking, I got a message saying payment had been processed but the ticket was taking longer to process.
Give that this was unusual and we didn't know the company, we came to TRUSTPILOT to check. Thanks to another reviewer who initially got a number that was not connected to a ticket, I followed their advice:

When we got the ticket number from CTRIP, we waited a couple of days and then contacted the airline. They confirmed that the ticket number was known to them and that there was a reservation in good order associated with that number and that we had a flight and a seat and everything was fine. All we now needed to do was check-in.

I therefore never needed to contact CTRIP as there were no issues requiring contact. I had NO PROBLEMS and received a solid service at a good price which is no less than I would expect.

Fraudulent company do not book with them!

Booked a flight from frankfurt to London Heathrow for £175, couldn't check in online as reference numbers incorrect. Got an email an hour before my flight saying it had been delayed from 7.15am to 10.30am. Making me very late for work. Got to the airport only to find out there is no ticket assigned to me and half of my information has been entered incorrectly, so i couldn't check in or board the flight. British airways cant help as the information they've been given is incorrect. Now stuck in Frankfurt with no way to get to back to london. Have called Ctrip numerous times and spent £40 doing so and all they've said is that i need to buy another ticket!! They wont refund me or book me another ticket so ive got no choice but to spend more money booking a last minute flight so i can actually make it to work tomorrow.
This is the worst company I've ever dealt with.

terrible customer service

tried to cancel a ticket after just 2 min ... the 400 number is pointless and the Chinese number makes u wait so long that makes the cancellation procedure pointless!!

ended up to be charged for the wrong ticket and they cancelled the right one...

waste of time and money!!

I'm flying to Lisbon tomorrow for my …

Update:
CTRIP managed to rectify this and the customer service was good in the end.

I'm flying to Lisbon tomorrow for my family members wedding. As I hadn't received my ticket yet I had been in contact with the airline who has advised that my flight was cancelled. Why didn't CTRIP contact me to advise me that they have cancelled my flight.

As I write this review I'm sitting on a call for almost 20 minutes and no answer. If CTRIP sort my flight out for tomorrow I will update this page with how they resolved it. For now, I sit and wait with much worry.

I have tried and failed THREE times booking flights from …

I have tried booking flights from London to Perth with this company three times over the last 36 hours and every time they make me fill in all my contact details, including passport and payment details, and after they have processed my payment they then email me to say they've had to cancel the booking. THREE TIMES!!!

AVOID THIS COMPANY THEY ARE A JOKE!!!!!!!

Ctrip - messy booking, followed by great customer service to fix it!

Ctrip is always a mixed experience.

Below is my initial review...Ctrip called me twice after reading the review, the first time we discussed but could not fix the issue. The second time, they called to advise that they had their IT staff working on the baggage allowance issue with their website and they offered to personally cover the cost of my baggage as there was no way I could physically arrange it online myself.

So - I have to be fair. While I was initially not happy with the booking events that occurred. Ctrip customer service after seeing this review have made every effort, to correct the issue and to ensure that I was looked after - big thank you to Ctrip. And yes you do absolutely deserve 4 stars for taking a problem and dealing with it kindly and thoughtfully.

Today I booked a flight from Shanghai to Jieyang, okay price, no baggage allowance information - and yes I did look and click on buttons prior to booking, and read all the ticket policy information - but nothing re baggage. Which should of have warned me. But anyway I booked, looked, and in the end contacted Ctrip online help to clarify the issue - was duly advised that I had no check in allowance, and no they did not have the option to add, suggested I contact the airline directly, register and then add baggage. This I went to do - and it didn't work. Called the airline who advised that has I had made the booking with Ctrip, the system would not recognise me to allow me to add baggage, and did I know a Chinese person (am in Australia) who could via weechat add baggage. Advised this was not a viable option and was told, then the only option was to pay the full cost when at the airport. So - double check everything, and if you don't see it in the fine print.....

Shows up false prices always

The initial searched prizes are not available during the payment. Everytime the price keeps on changing. I tried for many destinations and for different flight and date combinations, everytime same thing repeats. Ctrip is just fooling the people to route to their website first and later forcing the ppl to buy for higher prices. Very cheap business tricks.

Trying to book a BA ticket from London …

Trying to book a BA ticket from London to Basel, Switzerland and when I go to do the payment details, it keeps saying payment card type is wrong when it isn't! I am paying with a visa debit card and it's telling me its the wrong type but why?!?! Can't book my ticket and after seeing all these reviews I feel put off. Sky scanner is a very trusted website and to be going through a 'secure booking' on sky scanner and it not being like that all because of Ctrip is making them look terrible.

Tried to book a flight with Ctrip

Tried to book a flight with Ctrip, via skyscanner but it would not accept my card. Ctrip bought out a UK based website, yet have no way for UK based customers to even purchase a flight? How ridiculous is that?
I then tried to purchase directly through the website but when I got to the final booking page and put in my details, it acted like my bank was blocking me from payment but when I called the number provided, it was a fraudulent company, claiming to be Natwest, asking for all my bank details. I gave the number to a Natwest employee and he told me it was not theirs.

So you've bought out what used to be a really great website, prevented probably their main clientele from being able to purchase from there and you like fraudulent companies intercept at payment. Really really awful.

Paid for a ticket then they cancelled it!

Paid for a ticket via skyscanner and after an hour of the payment being processed, it said all tickets were sold out?! Why charge my card before checking if there are any available spaces? This is ridiculous. By the time I found out they had cancelled my flight, it was too late and all the tickets were too expensive! AVOID this disorganised company...

Bad application ever!!

Bad application ever!!! They only support in China! If you come from other countries DON’T ever use it!!! And I’ll tell all my friends all people i know DO NOT use this web! Only a small mistake and they can’t help or try to.. all they can do is “Keep your money” I have a mistake spell a wrong name only 1 letter!! They said If you are in China They can fix for you but You’re not!! So all I can do is refund which lose 400US dollar Thank you and goodbye Ctrip!!!

Great Service and Excellent Price;

I booked the ticket for BA flight from Oslo to London for date October 19th, one way. I found the good price on Skyscanner which is directed me to Ctrip; Expedia and even BA online booking gave me 100 GBP extra, so I booked on Ctrip;
I got 3 emails, confirming that my flight is booked and confirmed with PNR number; I logged in my BA and could not find the PNR, then I googled Ctrip and found many negative reviews, and I thought my money is lost and now ticket is even more expensive, Then I thought to try and call them; So I called their Customer Service in China, I had to listen to music for 10 min and finally some lady came and asked me few security questions; Once done, she apologized and gave me correct PNR, I put her on hold and immediately checked on BA site and my ticket was there; I thanked her and also I told her about all negative reviews; She said company is fixing the issues and most of the time is their software which is not functioning properly; Well, I found them very reasonable and professional; Thank you Ctrip to save my 100 Pounds;

Please don't ever use this company one …

Please don't ever use this company for booking your travel. They are a fraudulent shop out of China and they have an open investigation with the Federal Trade Commission. Everything that you read on their website is misleading. Even if you try to make changes within the first 24 hours or even one hour they will find a reason to keep your money.
