Enrique Alvarez Spanish Reviews 

I had classes with Enrique from I was about 14 right till I was 18. I started off as a complete beginner, but my progress was so fast thanks to Enrique that I was able to sit my higher and Advanced Higher exams in School one year in advance and was only one point away from getting full marks. I truly put this down to my classes with Enrique. He built up my confidence to the point I could speak freely in Spanish without fear of making mistakes. He tailored every single one of my classes to something I was interested in and they were always engaging. Going to my spanish classes with Enrique turned into being something I would look forward to every week. Enrique made me feel really proud of the level of Spanish I had reached by the time I was ready to go to university, that I decided to further my Spanish studies at the University of Edinburgh. I was really sad when I had to stop having classes with Enrique but he was always there to answer any questions I had, even after my tuition with him had stopped. I have since graduated with a degree in Spanish, spent a year living, working and studying in Madrid and scored a C1 in my SIELE proficiency exam. I would not have achieved all of this and would not have the level of Spanish I have today if it weren’t for my classes with Enrique. I am very grateful to have had him as my Spanish teacher and cannot recommend him enough to anyone that is looking to learn Spanish!

Enrique has been my Spanish Teacher for over 2 years now and he has been fantastic in tailoring the lessons to my needs: starting with grammar and vocabulary and now moving on to more conversational lessons with comments / opinions on press articles. I was a total beginner 2 years ago and I feel i can now make myself understand whenever i go to Spain and understand 80% of what I read!! Enrique Is patient, supportive and very flexible :) He has also helped my Year 11 daughter with her Spanish assignments from time to time and has been very efficient!

I started taking Spanish lessons with Enrique many years ago and he has really helped me improved my skills in all areas, and speaking in particular. He's very patient, has lots of useful resources to share and adapts the session to make sure it's always fun to learn! Anyone who wants to start learning, pick up their Spanish or keep practicing to improve will be in good hands :)

I cannot recommend Enrique highly enough for anyone looking to learn Spanish.
He began helping me around five years ago, shortly after I got engaged to my (now) Spanish wife. My goal was to communicate more confidently with her family before the wedding and deliver part of my speech in Spanish.
From the start, Enrique quickly assessed my level and tailored the lessons to suit me. He struck a great balance between building practical conversational skills and reinforcing them with the underlying theory, all while keeping the sessions engaging and interactive (writing, reading, listening exercises about topics interesting to me).
I’ll admit that learning a second language doesn’t come naturally to me, but Enrique’s approach significantly improved my confidence in both listening and speaking. Thanks to him, my wedding speech went well, and I can now communicate with my wife’s family when we visit.
I still continue lessons to improve further, and I genuinely enjoy them. Enrique is an excellent tutor at any level.

Enrique has been an incredible tutor, helping me ace the Spanish exams in my university modules. His friendly nature and engaging lessons made me excited to learn Spanish, and I would not have been able to get through university without him. I highly recommend him for anyone looking to learn Spanish.

I signed up for Spanish lessons for fun (having learned at school ~15-20 years earlier). Enrique immediately put me at ease, with his calm and clear teaching approach. What I valued most was the focus on conversation throughout. Of course Enrique scaffolded my grammar and vocabulary development excellently, but the emphasis on just trying to talk with each other was key. Over the course of 5 years, I was able to listen and speak conversationally and accurately on a broad range of subjects that were relevant to my life. My ability to make sense of what’s going on around me when I’m in Spain is still very exciting and I’m so grateful to Enrique. I can’t recommend him enough!

Enrique has supported my son so much in his GCSE Spanish. Enrique teaches by using the language in conversation throughout the session- that might sound a challenge but in Enrique's hands it will happen organically and allow your grammar and vocabulary to be expanded without you noticing. I would recommend Enrique without hesitation as a tutor of Spanish. He is also super efficient in his email communications and always polite and supportive.

Enrique helped my Spanish go from basic, wooden, and formulaic to conversational, practical and natural. His teaching style is friendly and laid-back but always encouraging! I've learnt so much from him over the years and would encourage anyone to give his classes a go.
