I first contacted Ephesus back in March when I was still researching having a sleeve. I was then contacted via WhatsApp by a lovely lady called Mary, one of the coordinators at Ephesus. We talked, she answered millions of my questions, and reassured me that I'd be in the best hands as I was a bit worried, standard really. My bmi was 32 and I'd been refused by another surgeon. I didn't officially book until April - for surgery the beginning of May - last minute, I know. I flew to Turkey alone on the 2nd May for surgery on the 3rd. Bit of a hiccup at the airport as there was no one there to collect me on arrival - but I messaged Ephesus' fb and someone got back to me super speedy and someone came for me. The driver took me to Ozel Saglik Hospital, where I was met by Tim (about 1am/2am) he introduced himself, this guy was an absolute diamond. He took me up to the room, explained what they were going to do, he stayed while they took bloods and tried to put a cannula in. He was in the hospital all night and came back to me in the morning, came and sat in my room chatting - it helped take the edge off, as I was terrified. He came with me to all my pre-op tests and was there all day until I went for surgery (about 2pm) and he was still there when they brought me back after surgery, he even stayed while I was gagging and being sick (What a guy 🤣), he left as i was trying to get to sleep (I think it was about 7pm)... Then there's the magician himself, Dr Mehmet Deniz, my incisions (i have 4) are tiny - how he got more than half my stomach through one of them I'll never know. The nurses at the hospital are also lovely - some are very good English considering its not their first language. I am currently 4 weeks post op and 21LB down already. Still in touch with Mary via WhatApp and will continue to update her on my progress... I will definitely return if needed!!! ❤
