Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service - really pleased. Had an issue with an external company who set up an account in my name and told me I had not been paying bills when I was signed up with Epic Utilities. Epic decided to take on my issue and completely sort it out for me, with nothing required from me. Beyond please, and I would recommend them to anybody. Really impressed.

Good clarity

Had troubles with broadband, (unfortunately they only work with virgin which was unavailable for me) but customer service was great and was consistently clear with everything going on

makes splitting bills easy and direct debit payments make it all go smoothly without stress to remind flatmates to pay, only bit of hassle with bills sent to door that should’ve been sorted.

During the initial transition period, while we’re setting up accounts, third parties sometimes create accounts on your behalf which can conflict with our setup efforts. This did mean a bit of extra contact with suppliers, but we’ve now resolved everything and checked all accounts today, they’re set up correctly and fully up to date.

Easy and reliable

A really good company had absolutely no issues, - had a hiccup with a water company sending us a bill but called and explained we were with epic and called epic and they sorted it out and there were no issues, easy and reliable

Problems with Customer Service

We have tried contacting them regarding the Wifi setup, as we have now had no Wifi since the start of our contract. We have also been receiving letters from local water company and TV licensing to setup, which should be covered in our bills contract from the start of our tenancy which was approved two months before our move in. There is no phone number to contact to have a direct conversation and now can't log into our accounts.

Epic Team is Epic!

Dealing with Epic has been... epic! I've yet to move into my new house however I decided to go with Epic as my student bills provider and they've been amazing so far.

Upon completing my application, Epic let me know the WiFi package I chose wasn't available at my place and offered to change me to a different provider at no extra cost, despite the package being a bit more expensive.

Epic has been really friendly and the whole process of setting up my bills has been super fast; also, their bill packages are defo the cheapest out there - I'd absolutely recommend! :)

The Epic Team have been super helpful

The Epic Team have been super helpful even when my address could not be accessed! I would receive emails quickly after sending them, and the team have been very reassuring - I cannot fault them. I have used Epic in the past and I have had no issues at all! This is my second time opting in for Epic - best price I have seen compared to other utility companies!

Underhanded and unprofessional

They backdated our contract to say it started before we had even contacted them to scam us out of our cooling off period. They switched our energy supplier without consent to try and falsify an exit fee when we told them we wanted to leave. Their conduct has been so unprofessional and underhanded, i would not suggest them to anyone. If you do go with them, know they will make it as difficult as possible to leave.

Thank you for your review. We wish to clarify the situation and provide factual details regarding your concerns.

The contract start date was initially requested for 28 August 2024 by the lead tenant. However, on 27 August 2024, the lead tenant asked us to move the start date to 16 August 2024 at the landlord’s request, and we promptly amended the contract and provided the updated version on the same day. The lead tenant supplied all necessary details for the group, and we received no further communication indicating that the start date needed to be changed after the bills package confirmation was sent to the group via email.

With regard to the cooling-off period, our terms and conditions specify that this begins on the date the package was approved, which was 29 August 2024. Section 8.1.1 and 8.1.2 of our package terms (a link to these are available in your contract) outline that the cooling-off period lasts 14 days from the approval date. Since the requested start date was 16 August 2024, which precedes the beginning of the cooling-off period, the relevant terms apply. The claim that the contract was backdated to affect the cooling-off period is therefore incorrect.

Regarding the energy supplier switch, the process was initiated on 4 September 2024 and confirmed on 8 September 2024, before you called on 9 September. This switch was made in accordance with Section 4.4 of our terms and conditions, which allows us to change suppliers on your behalf, provided this does not result in an increase to the fixed charge. The switch was not carried out to incur an exit fee, and we followed the standard process for managing utilities for the group.

You replied to us on 10 September 2024 to request a cancellation. Prior to this, no official request had been made by the group to cancel the package. As this is a shared bills package, we need confirmation from all members before proceeding with a cancellation to ensure that everyone in the group is in agreement. Following your request, we immediately began contacting suppliers on 11 September to confirm any applicable exit fees. This information will be shared with the group as soon as it is available.

We are committed to providing transparency and professionalism throughout this process, and we have responded to all emails promptly. At no point have we attempted to make it difficult to cancel the package; rather, we are following the necessary procedures to ensure all parties are fully informed and the cancellation is managed correctly.

Fantastic

These guys have been amazing. Recently moved into student housing and they have been super helpful in sorting out any mysterious bills or problems. Their customer service is truly amazing, they reply quickly and with plenty of advice/information that answers all questions we had. Would absolutely recommend them again.

Customer service is highly responsive and helpful. The system was really easy to set up. Prices were competitive and the entire service was very reliable throughout uni. Could not recommend a better all inclusive bills service for students.
