When you're dealing with investments, you'd like to think you're talking with competent folks. Not the case here: besides an incredibly long hold time, the operator clearly had no idea how to complete a stock transfer form. Over the course of our call, she gave two completely opposite directions. When I pointed it out, "click"... she hung up on me.

My initial contact was not ideal, aggressive and forceful, not what I expect from a support team. The subsequent contact (supervisor?) was more informed, pleasant to deal with and helpful.

Hello,
I just wanted to leave a very good feedback comment, about a conversation, I had with one of your colleagues.
I know that it was to me, a long and difficult conversation, but I won't go into the details here.
However, your colleague, could not have done a better job. She was kind, friendly, patient and understanding, and went over and above, what I expected of your colleague, to help me out. If you can listen to the conversation, you will appreciate what I have said in this message, and what the help meant to me, it was a 5 star, and faultless outcome, and your staff member was great, very patient and polite, and did more than I had expected of her to do. I much appreciate, all she has done for me, and I hope to soon send back all the documents I need to, to complete my request. Your staff member I spoke to, could not have been better.

The Customer Service PERSON was excellent - professional, helpful and patient.
THE COMPUTERISED SYSTEM IS FLAWED, TIME-CONSUMING AND EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING - AND HAS BEEN, IN MY EXPERIENCE, FOR SEVERAL YEARS!!

After waiting over 20 minutes I eventually got through to be told I need to send a death certificate to initially register the recent death of my father who held shares with Equiniti, which i did fair enough. Filled in a sale form to receive a letter saying if I wanted to sell the shares I would need to send a sealed copy of of a UK grant of Representation, even though my Father had a will and was survived by my Mother and the will clearly states she inherits his estate as next of kin. The shares are worth £310 and as my Mother is 91 she doesn't have an online account so the minimum charge for a postal sale is £70 !!! plus a Small Estate fee of £50 so £120 in costs !!!
Awful company, zero compassion and happy to rip you off when you have just lost a loved one.

Waiting for 20 mins to speak to someone was irritating to say the least. I would give zero marks for this element of the service.
However, once I got through to Ayan, I relaxed as she was extremely calm and patient in getting me back into my online account. She didn’t rush me when I was trying to find information, for which I am grateful. She also sought to rectify an issue on the account without my prompting to save me time should I want to sell shares. She went above and beyond.

Had to call 3 times to resolve a problem with my account. So about 45 mins in total spent on hold.
They regularly interrupt the hold music which makes you think you're about to speak to someone, only to hear a recorded voice telling you that you're still on hold. I find this *incredibly* annoying.
1st call: given wrong advice.
2nd call: call centre glitched when I came off the hold queue. Call failed to connect so I had to start again.
3rd call. Spoke with PITOKA CHOPHY, who was very helpful and patient in resolving the problem. Pitoka deserves FIVE STARS, but overall experience rated at 3* due to previous calls and time spent on hold.

Migraine inducing customer service. Long wait times to get bounced between as many Indian call centres as possible who either say they can't do anything or that list of as many different scenarios and options as possible rather than just answering whatever basic question you might have. I called up and said "my sharesave is maturing today, this is the option I have selected, how long will that take" and all I got was bounced around or told dozens of different scenarios for the shares even though I explicity said at the start what I wanted and had selected. Then when you do finally get the shares you get battered with fees and long wait times for actions other companies do for free quickly. Nightmare company.

I had several cases of tracing old shareholdings dating back to 2006 and in each case the issues were resolved quickly and efficiently.
