Empowering transformation

Working with Claire at a pivotal point in my career was genuinely transformational. After many years in headship, I was stepping away from a long-established professional identity into an uncertain and unfamiliar phase of life and work. Claire created a thoughtful, challenging and highly supportive coaching space that enabled me to reflect deeply, regain clarity and build confidence in navigating significant transition.

Her coaching helped me move from uncertainty to possibility. Through her insight, skilful questioning and calm encouragement, I developed a stronger sense of direction, renewed self-belief and the confidence to step into the unknown with purpose rather than fear. The process was both professionally and personally empowering, and it has had a lasting impact on how I approach the next stage of my journey. I would wholeheartedly recommend Claire to any senior leader facing change, transition or reinvention.

Claire walks alongside in continuous learning together

Claire brings depth, rigour and rare humanity to race work. She is beautifully prepared and deeply practical, profoundly empathetic, and extraordinarily generous — not only with resources, but with her own experiences and reflections. She doesn't teach from the front; she walks alongside you, role-modelling the very learning she invites. The result is a learning environment where honest reflection and real change become possible. Brilliant — and exactly what this work needs.

I recommend Equitable Coaching without reservation…

I can't recommend Equitable Coaching highly enough! From the first session, Claire created an environment which was both supportive and challenging. The sessions were tailored to really push my thinking and - without a doubt - they helped me to grow as a leader.
Claire has this amazing ability to listen deeply and to ask the right questions. The coaching was personalised - nothing ever felt generic. I came away with tools and insights that I used constantly in my practice.
Coaching with Claire was genuinely transformative and I would recommend without reservation.

Equitable Coaching delivered a highly…

Equitable Coaching delivered a highly engaging and insightful programme that balanced strong subject expertise with practical application. Their facilitation style created a safe but appropriately challenging space, encouraging honest reflection and meaningful discussion across the group.

What stood out most was their ability to connect with participants and translate complex DEI concepts into clear, actionable takeaways. The sessions felt purposeful and well-structured, and the impact was evident in both engagement and ongoing conversations within the team.

A professional, knowledgeable and impactful partner for diversity and inclusion work.

Divest Whiteness course

Participating in the Divest Whiteness course was a truly inspiring and energising experience. Claire compassionately guided us through somatic exercises, theoretical analysis, emotional responses and practical planning (with the help of some trusted additional facilitators) so that we could really deepen and also elevate our practice within anti-racism work. There are so many ways to meaningfully and positively contribute to collective liberation and she supported our group to trust that we can play to our individual strengths but also lean on each other while doing so.

Insightful, Engaging and Highly Professional

I have had the opportunity to see Claire leading on programmes and facilitating discussions. She brings a combination of professionalism, warmth, and intellectual clarity to every space she works in.

Claire has a way of elevating conversations so that what begins as a routine discussion quickly becomes something more thoughtful and forward-looking. She is knowledgeable, articulate, and skilled at engaging people in meaningful dialogue.

From what I have observed, Claire earns trust and respect very quickly and creates an environment where people feel both challenged and supported. Any organisation would benefit enormously from Claire’s insight, leadership, and expertise.

Divest Whiteness Programme

It is hard to put into words how valuable I found the Divest Whiteness programme with Dr Claire Stewart-Hall. Over the course of half a year, our cohort met once per month, and additionally to hear from or workshop with guest speakers an evening every other month. The programme is expertly put together and facilitated in a way that takes into account various individual thought processes, emotional load, and work between sessions. Claire held our group gently in these spaces, whilst bringing vast amounts of knowledge and expertise, thought provoking exercises and a number of ways to work which suited us individually and as a group. She also challenged our thinking and responses to help us move forward in being truly anti racist. I valued the other cohort members so much too, and as a community I hope we can continue to support each other in continuing this vital work. I’ll never be able to thank you enough, Claire!

Helping Leaders See What We Often Miss

Working with Dr Claire has been a fantastic experience. As someone with a lot of leadership experience, I found her coaching incredibly valuable in helping me better understand how systemic and instructional oppression can influence the way we think and lead. Her deep expertise in education really comes through in the way she explains things and guides reflection.

She creates a psychologically safe space where you can talk openly, think things through and challenge your own assumptions. What I really appreciated was being able to take what we discussed and actually apply it in my own leadership practice. It helped me notice things I might previously have missed and approach situations in a more thoughtful and inclusive way.

I’d highly recommend Dr Claire to any leader who wants to keep learning, reflecting and growing.

Courage, clarity and compassion

Claire's expertise is in understanding how whiteness sits at the core of systemic racism and that being racialised as white, black or brown is how it is manifested in society. To do this work with integrity you have to have courage, clarity and compassion and Claire has these qualities in abundance. I recommend her highly to white people who really want to walk their talk.

The most important meeting I've ever had

I have been working with Claire for just over a year. She has carefully helped to guide me through racial literacy coaching. She is calm, unhurried and very, very thorough. I naively came to this thinking that I knew where I stood in this journey, I have learned so much about the power of language, of naming things and of knowing that this is where I am today, hopefully tomorrow I will be better. This is the best and longest conversation I have ever had and each time I come away exhausted but with my eyes a little more open.

Educational leadership coaching

When I wanted to pursue leadership in education, Claire coached me to ensure that I was not only ready for leadership but also that I could demonstrate my skills and values during the application and interview phases. Equitable coaching is values driven and I was encouraged to really explore my values as an educator and then coached in how to communicate these to my potential empolyers while also confidently showcasing my skills. With Claire's expert coaching, I was successfully appointed as an Assistant Headteacher after my first leadership interview. Then throughout my career as a leader, I have continued to work with Equitable coaching to develop the racial literacy and anti-racist practice in my school. Claire is incredibly knowledgeable and her work with me as an individual as well as her work with my institution has been invaluable. Her values, integrity and transparency makes working with Claire a joy and I am a better leader because of it!
