Please do not use this company. I booked a ticket for my husband and paid an insurance then noticed that I made a mistake and used my rail card. As a honest person I did not want my husband travel with the ticket I got with my rail card and used the discount. I just wanted to cancel my ticket and told husband to get a new one. Called ERGO and they said that the “reason” I said does not cover by the terms and conditions. That’s my bad actually instead of being honest I should have read the nano letter T&C with my magnifier and lie to them. Listen I went with the regular refund with Trainline and admin charge has been taken. Yeah I wish I would have received a full refund but I prefer loosing this money than insurance with my ticket. Never again! As a human being we all make mistakes right? I made 2 mistakes: 1- Forgot to remove my rail card while I purchase a ticket for someone else. 2- Trusting the “insurance”. Never again.

Ok. So we were going to see a show in Italy and had to cancel as my wife became seriously ill. However we had the event tickets insured. As others have said, the claim process is straightforward -but.

Twice we got ‘computer says no’. I tracked the emails of their customer service people and claims. I started banging in emails to both. Apart from holding responses I got emails from their payment section telling me to go back to the online form, which then rejected the claim.

The problem seemed to be the definition of ‘medical certificate’. Letters from a hospital didn’t cut it.

Eventually they paid. Totally out of the blue with no explanation of what had occurred. Bizarre and made me think I simply had to be patient and keep nagging!

I did get the refund so given 4 stars.

The form is entirely in German, and it's not possible to set it to English. Apart from this inconvenience, I had a good experience.

Man skal enten være rigtig syg fysisk eller fået en alvorlig forværring af en psykisk lidelse for at få pengene tilbage (i mit tilfælde var det ikke nok, at min OCD var forværret så meget, at jeg ikke kunne rejse).

Bad train ticket insurance

+ The only positive thing about the insurance was that they refunded the insurance premium.
÷ Can't get my train tickets refunded from them because I'm not sick enough.

You either have to be really sick physically or have a serious worsening of a psychiatric disorder to get the money back (in my case it wasn't enough that my OCD had worsened so much that I couldn't travel).

Everything went smoothly!

This company is a big scam.
This is one of the most terrible companies that I have seen. I bought concert tickets from Eventim with insurance from Ergo. They way they advertise is really great. They say, better insure your tickets in case you can not attend the event. But then, when I actually requested the refund, they came up with the options that would justify the refund. This was not mentioned before when I bought the insurance. Well, none of the options matched with my reason why we couldn't attend the concert. I explained and also attached relevant information but Ergo didn't even bother to explain to me. They just kicked me out of the portal and now I can not even log in to the portal and review the status of my refund application. Absolutely terrible service and worst customer experience I have ever seen.
This company works with Eventim. So be careful when you buy tickets from the Eventim portal. Don't buy any insurance as you will never get your money back. They are a big lie!!!

I had to use my ticket insurance due the diagnosis of an unfortunate and unexpected disease. The insurance platform is easy to understand, fast and reliable. It took 10 minutes and, since I had all the medical documentation. There was no problem of any kind. A very reliable service.
