Flimsy and overpriced. If you are buying this for a bad back, don't. The lumber support is way too extreme and not nearly enough adjustable. Customer service unresponsive.

So you spend over a thousdan dollars on a desk and this is the after service? Maybe they DONT HAVE a tech support team? And no one can fix it? Defective product and Ergotune refuses to refund

I purchased a Joobie in October 2025. In April 2026, I noticed that it was rocking from side to side, and it was lower to the ground than usual. Upon further inspection I identified that there were cracks forming at the hole from the bottom of the plastic wheelbase and the gas cylinder through to the ground, causing damage to my hardwood floor. I have been back and forth since then with Ergotune support trying to get a refund, but they have been resistant, first initially saying that they do not provide refunds outside of 21 days of purchase, then stating that I have to pay for return shipping of my DEFECTIVE item. This is contrary to Australia's consumer laws. Avoid this scam company and do not trust their claims of a long lifespan of the chair or their return policy.

The rubber on the arm rest broke off and when I went back to the company, they said it was not part of the warranty but wear and tear. They suggested I buy 2 new arm rests which were expensive to replace. Not a great experience for an expensive chair.

Uncomfortable product and an expensive lesson

I bought the ErgoTune Joobie chair expecting ergonomic comfort, but it was the opposite. The back was poorly adjustable and the neck support sat in a position that gave me headaches every day I tried to use it. I returned the chair within their very limited three-week trial period.

Shipping to me was $29, and while their website says return shipping is paid by the customer, it was never made clear that the return cost would be $89 in Victoria and over $200 in other states. This came as a complete shock. When I questioned it, I was told the cost includes inspection, which I believe should not be passed on to the customer when they are well within the trial period.

Also worth noting: disassembling the chair for return is unnecessarily complex. You’re asked to follow multiple video instructions and even use a hammer, yet any minor damage during this process can lead to an additional 30% deduction from your refund. This puts the entire risk back on the customer.

In the end, this so-called “trial” cost me around $120 out of pocket. With no physical stores to try the chair and such high hidden return costs, I would strongly caution anyone against giving this chair a trial. Uncomfortable product and an expensive lesson.

Hey Ramandeep,

We’re sorry to hear the chair has caused you discomfort, as that’s certainly not the experience we intended. While our chairs are designed to suit most users, we understand that adjustments may differ from person to person.

Regarding the return process, we’ll be sharing feedback with our team to ensure clearer communication about shipping fees on our page, and in the meantime all return policies can be found in our FAQ section. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused, appreciate your feedback to help us improve, and if there’s anything else we can assist with, please don’t hesitate to reach out via our support email.

Best Regards,
The ErgoTune Team

Thank you for your response and for…

Thank you for your response and for clearly sharing your position.

We sincerely apologise that the resolution and compensation offered do not meet your expectations, and we understand the frustration caused by the repeated issues, delays, and the time you have had to spend following up throughout this case. We do not take your feedback lightly, and we regret the inconvenience this experience has caused you.

That said, after a final internal review of the full timeline, scope of the case, and in alignment with our compensation framework, we would like to reiterate that the maximum compensation ErgoTune is able to offer for this matter is $50. This amount was extended as a goodwill gesture, beyond the waiver of the $29 assembly fee, while remaining consistent with our internal policies.

We sincerely apologise that we are unable to meet your expectation of at least $100 in compensation. Please understand that this decision is final, and we will not be able to revise the compensation amount further.

We acknowledge your decision to seek guidance through the appropriate legal and consumer-protection channels and respect your right to do so. Our intention throughout this process has been to resolve the matter fairly and transparently, and we regret that the outcome has not met your expectations.

Should you decide to accept the $50 goodwill compensation, we will proceed with the necessary arrangements promptly and bring this case to a close. Otherwise, we will consider the matter concluded from our end.

Thank you for your time and for sharing your feedback. We wish you a Happy New Year.
What should we do with such a fake service

Stay away from Ergotune

My experience with Ergotune has been extremely frustrating. My order was significantly delayed with no proactive communication, and I had to repeatedly follow up just to get vague, often contradictory responses.

They advertised free shipping at the time of purchase. After I brought this to the attention of customer service, the free shipping claim was removed from the website, which only reinforces how misleading the original information was.

Despite this, I was told the order could not be cancelled because it had “already been processed,” even though to this day there has been no delivery and no tracking showing the item was ever collected by the courier.

For a premium-priced product, the lack of transparency, accountability, and basic customer service is unacceptable. I would not recommend Ergotune. Do not buy from this company if not you will regret it.

AVOID THIS COMPANY

Avoid this chair and company

Avoid this chair. The lumbar support on the Joobie makes it unusable — it causes back pain almost immediately. I’ve tried to return it several times, but the company keeps stalling. They expect you to repack the chair even though it can’t be fully disassembled, meaning you have to find an oversized box and ship the base and body separately at your own expense. Customer support is poor and unhelpful. From what I can tell, they’re based in Singapore with a warehouse in Australia. I also suspect many of the glowing reviews on their site aren’t genuine.

Appalling customer service

Appalling customer service. Much like all reviews I am now finding, orders take months to arrive and any attempts to organise refunds with customer support is met with automated apology emails with no real answer to your question. Avoid by all means.

Ergotune is an absolute scam

Delivery times and customer service is absolutely horrible. Completely baited by their constant marketing and bought a chair. It was being delivered within the same state and took over a month to get any sort of update from them. They use the same excuses of “processing error from the courier” from every other review here. Had to do a chargeback on my card. STAY AWAY FROM ERGOTUNE!

Pathetic company

Pathetic company. I would give 0 stars if possible. I bought a chair on August 20th. They neglected to tell me it was on backorder. When I enquired about delivery, they couldn't say when it would be delivered. I asked for a refund as it hadn't been sent. They kept saying please wait for more info. Then they said it was sent, despite me asking for a refund. The courier told me Ergotune never sent the chair.
It's now over a month, I've paid $800 and still no chair. Don't waste your time on this unethical, pathetic company and their products.

If I could give zero stars

If I could give zero stars, I would.
I ordered a Joobie chair in November. Arrived quite promptly however the gas lift and screw set were sent in a separate box, that arrived open, with the screws missing and the gas lift completely damaged.
No problem, reached out to the company who responded quickly and said they’d sent out a new lift & screw set. Was given a tracking number.
Christmas came, new years came, tracking number wasn’t giving any updates. Finally got a response from them saying there had been an error and ignore that tracking number as it hadn’t been processed.
They then “processed” a new replacement gas lift and screw set with new tracking numbers, which have now been sitting with no scan events since Jan 8th.
I cannot get a response. Everything is always “looking into it” “will escalate to the team”.
I want a refund for the chair I cannot use, and for them to come and collect the item at their cost that’s taking up half my office.
Absolutely atrocious service for what is a very expensive chair.
Best part is getting emails asking me to provide a review! For a chair I cannot build due to their incompetence.

lumber support is too aggressive

The lumbar support on the Joobie is too aggressive and digs into your lower back, making it impossible to sit in the chair. I tried adjusting it to reduce the pressure, but nothing helped. Eventually, I had to break it off completely because it doesn't unscrew or clip off and replace it with a softer lumbar support. Now, it’s comfortable enough to sit in all day,

Poor customer service on missing parts

I bought three of their chairs but one was missing the head rest. When I emailed them, they ran me through many hurdles probably to get rid of me. Anyway, I got the head rest in the end, but the customer support was very bad. It was my first purchase with them and buying 3 high end chairs I thought the service would be better. Years later I got over it and purchased their new Joobie. Well, what a mistake! This (very expensive) chair rattles in the neck piece like dangling car keys, it wobbles at the base, the footrest rubs against your calves which is annoying. I would put a review on their site, but they “obviously” don’t allow this. They have all these fancy high star reviews from sell out tech sites and most likely fake reviews. If a company is legit, they’d allow us to review on their site. If you’re a corporation then buy their products because you probably don’t care, but for the general consumer I’d recommend using another brand. The customer service firstly is pathetic and the product quality outside their fancy marketing is also poor.

Scam - stay away from it

This company is a scam. They try to persuade you with polished visuals, influencer marketing, paid-for reviews and flash “discounts”, but once you actually buy one of their products, it’ll quickly become clear that there’s no substance or transparency to any of their operations & no respect for your money or time.

I bought a chair on the 16th of April from the website. A few minutes after I received the purchase confirmation email, I received another email saying that the color I chose (charcoal) was out of stock and it would only be delivered after April 30th. They offered the blue color instead if I wanted quicker shipping, which I refused.

April 30th came and went, radio silence from Ergotune. I reach out via email asking for a status update or a tracking code, and all I got was “we’re looking into it” type non-answers.

A week after that, still not any substantial information on my delivery. I reach out again, emphasising I’d be requesting a chargeback if I was not provided a tracking code. A few hours later I receive a long-winded email that came off like a ChatGPT apology essay about “supply chain issues” in regards to the chair, and even the “free gifts”, which is just laughable. They suggested I should receive a tracking code no later than May 11th.

I have already requested a chargeback and I hope they follow through with it, otherwise this is an actual scam that should be legally pursued.

Don’t be fooled - it’s clear that their strategy is to hook you with the smoke & mirrors marketing but when you actually look past that there’s nothing but an overpriced, cheap product that never ships.

Touted as ergonomic, this chair is unusable

Beware the hard seat of the ErgoTune chair if you're anything other than slender: the seat is made of a mesh fabric wrapped around a hard plastic frame that digs into the thighs. And if you're buying online, be aware that ErgoTune refuses to take the chair back if you find you cannot tolerate the hard seat. After a few hours on the chair, my feet swelled up and my legs ached, but when I emailed the company about the hard seat, the reply was, "The seat should not be too hard." I emailed back, and they suggested I might like to "gift" my $500 purchase to a friend or family member, because they "do not have a return policy at the moment." I've thrown $500 down the drain and now have to get rid of this useless thing taking up space in my apartment. It appears the company is based in Singapore, although they try to hide their address, and there's no accountability for the defects in their product.

My sis bought Ergotune Supreme and the chair came with a defect (see attached). She had emailed them and instead their reply was that they actually received quite a number of feedback regarding this issue but instead of addressing the issue by not selling these defective products, they go ahead and sell it and expect customers to accept it. My sis couldn't accept that she pay $629 for a chair that has a manufacturing defect. Their customer service is really bad, after a lot of back and fro emails, they were finally willing to exchange but it came with the same defect and the subsequent exchange had the same defect. So my sis had asked for a refund but they say it had passed 7 days. But all these emails back and fro which they took 2-3 days to reply to an email and there's no hotline to call. So of course it had passed 7 days. This is ridiculous. This kind of product and service is unacceptable.
