Don't use this company!

They subcontract work which means customers are overpaying. You're paying for the person doing the work (if they're lucky enough to get paid) and for the overheads of this company. Go direct to the local tradesman, save yourself some money! I believe they are associated with another company, ERG Facilities Ltd, which has gone bust owing hundreds of thousands of pounds to tradesmen who did work for them in good faith. Disgusting practices ripping off the public and small businesses.

Do not use ERG pest control under any circumstances.
There London based, scammers, overpriced and sub-contract all the work out to local companies.
I know through experience as we have done some work for them. They charge £170 for a wasp nest treatment and then the contractor has to invoice them for a third.

We did 23 wasps jobs for them in June and still haven't been paid the £1380 owed, even though they have a 30 day terms of payment method.

4 months later and countless calls and unanswered emails I have had to take court proceeding out to recover our losses. This appears to be the same with many other contractors nationwide.

I have also attended several properties that ERG has sent a cowboy and the work carried out didn't resolve the issue. The customer was told it would be a further £170 to send someone back. Pretty disgraceful!

I strongly advise to avoid this company who say they are local when they are not. I have run my business for 20 years, I am totally shocked how they can legally get away with it

I have put this review on because legally I can. It's not to discredit them it's to warn the public to be aware.
Look at the countless one star reviews they have. Bad customer service and many unpaid sub-contractors, the 4 and 5 star reviews are fake and purchased. It speaks for itself...

I don't understand why the bad reviews, I used my local one in Glasgow and the person who came and sorted out the wasp nest couldn't have been nicer, and came back the next day to make sure job well done. I really liked this company and will use them again in the future. Like I said the person they sent unfortunately I didn't get his name was brilliant and professional. Well done am a happy wee guy in Glasgow now and very reasonable too so bonus.

We have a wasp nest in our roof and after reading the ERG web site detail I decided to contact them with a view to their dealing with the problem.

A great pity that I did not look at any reviews before contacting ERG as sadly my experience is an exact replica of those other reviewers before me.

Having taken a payment of £162 for the "service" I was given an appointment and assured that if the visit was not a success that a return visit would be made free of charge.

The operative turned up as advised and spent about 10 minutes spraying around the nest and I was assured that the problem was fixed. He also gave me his business card and suggested that in future to call him direct as the cost would be much less.

In the event the spray made little difference and the problem continued si I contacted ERG to arrange the free second visit I had been promised. I was then told that the free second visit was at the discretion of the "engineer" but ERG would arrange for it. There then followed a period of about 3 weeks in which phone calls to ERG prompted the responses such as "later this week" " the engineer is busy and will call when next in the area". Finally a specified date - last Thursday - was given and we altered our own domestic arrangements to accommodate this visit. No one turned up and in view of the previous noted "delays" we were not entirely surprised. Last Friday I called ERG to complain as to their poor customer service and ineffective solution to our problem and was told:
a) They did not guarantee a solution ( so much for their professional engineers)
b) the engineer was no longer available to call as promised 9 i suspect he was experiencing payment problems by ERG)
c) a further visit for a resolution of the issue would cost a further £162.

So I have now been stung twice -once by a disreputable company and once by the wasps in the upstairs room where the problem exists.

Avoid this company at all costs..ive been charged £162 for a call out fee as no work was carried out as guy could find no evidence of a wasps nest im my loft. When i queried this extortionate amount i was told basically its not their fault they didnt find anything but we will still charge you the same amout as if we did find a wasp nest..
Also their number had my local dialling code but they were based in england not scotland..so that in its self is misleading as i thot i was phoning a local company..lesson learned a bunch of scam merchants 😤

Appalling service. They don’t investigate, they just do whatever is quickest and charge an immense amount for doing nothing. Complaints process was terrible (they don’t have a complaints procedure). Had to go through my credit card to get my money back. Following this, they harassed me by phone demanding I pay them again despite my complaint being upheld by my credit card provider. AVOID at all costs.

Telephoned to arrage wasp treatment. Booked an appointment for AM, before 1pm. Rang at 12 to see if there was any update having been available since 8am. Told to ring back at 1pm. I did so, only to be told that it would be 2 or 2.30. I explained we needed to go out, could they come after 4pm. No, was the answer. I didn't think we'd be able to wait, but then rang back 15 mins later to say we had cancelled our other arragment and so could the contractor please come. I rang them again at 2pm to be told definitely between 3 and 3.30. At 3.30, I actually recieved a call to say the guy was running 'a little late'. Definitely by 4pm. Rang them again at 4.10, told he was 'on his way'. Arrived 4.30. Person who came was very good, it wasn't his fault -he did a good job and we would use him again, but ERG are a complete shambles. They charge nearly double what the local people charge and have no regard for the customer. Simple communication would have meant we were not left waiting from 8am to 4.30 pm to get this job done. I WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN.

I do not normally write bad reviews, however when I had a pest issue, with a young baby I expected a lot better service for the cost ERG charged. Two young gentlemen showed up on multiple occasions, dragging out the necessary work, never having the right equipment and leaving the job incomplete. ERG outsource to local companies, and take no responsibility. I was very disappointed and ended up hiring another company.

My name is Neil Shuck. I am a full time professional Pest Controller and l have been running my business, Dead Cert Pest Control for in excess of 30 years. I am based in Cornwall.

I must stress that all that is written within is based on my own personal experiences of dealing with the company trading as ERG Pest Control. There is nothing within that has a bearing of or from in light of other people’s experiences of the the company in question.

Earlier this year, 2023, l was approached by ERG with a view to my becoming a contractor whom ERG intended to use on a sub contracted form basis to deal with an array of Pest and Vermin Control matters that they received from customers that contacted them with their issues.

I understood their terms and conditions of my connection with them. I agreed and accepted to receive Pest Control work related issues from them.

ERG put work my way under the conditions as referred to.

I became aware of the rates ERG were charging customers whom contacted them over Pest Issues. In my opinion the rates as charged by ERG are on the high side but l understand would be customers are in advance made aware of the costings.

ERG pay contractors such as myself substantially less than they charge customers for theirs services.

There were conditions of payment for my services as put forward by ERG as referred to above. This as stated l accepted.

Upon the time of my invoices, that were numerous, becoming due to be paid, as per ERG’s rulings, they failed to honour payments to me. I contacted the account’s department of ERG many times to request that they meet and settle the outstanding payments due. Each and every time ERG failed to pay.

I eventually issued legal proceedings through the court system to recover payments owed to me.

ERG were eventually ordered by the court to make payment in full.

There is now a County Court Judgement against ERG in favour of myself.

I have now had to issue further court proceedings against ERG in light of further and additional invoices that they are refusing to settle.

I can not and will not advise people, be they private parties seeking the services of a Pest Control Operative or a professional contractor whom may be considering a work based relationship with ERG, not to do so, however l would advise any person contemplating the services of whichever nature to re-read that that is within and to from there consider further any decision they may make.

They came last week, fumigated in the air next to my window.
I have talked to this lady Heidi on the phone who was to supposed to rebook somebody for me. The guy never came. When I called she just told me he cancelled the job and they did not even let me know. In the meantime the wasps are still all around y house. She refused to pass me to the manager. She said nobody was there. She then said she would a a rebooking and never transferred the call. Absolultely un-professional and not even sure they are a legetimate business.

This company is the worst I've ever dealt with 20 min visit and didn't kill the wasps nest and then asked for another £170 while paying £50 to local pest control contactor . Avid

So what isn't on my mind at the moment. Start of the week I came home to find my kitchen with what I thought was wasps flying around and to find I had a wasps nest right outside my kitchen window in the air brick. Immediately I went into stress mode as I cant stand anything like that. Common sense went out the window after spraying inside I called a company @ ERG PEST CONTROL for a same day visit. Thinking I was paying for a treatment to get rid of the wasps. Very polite man came told me he couldn't do anything as they were honey bees. He went within 2 minutes. Saying he wouldn't get paid because he had not done anything. I would expect to and willing to pay a call out charge but For that I was charged £162 pounds. After querying the amount with said company they replied that was the usual non treatment charge which I had agreed and it had been recorded. After reading their reviews which to my dismal failure I had not done remembering I was meltdown mode and not myself. This company are a group of cant find the word to describe them. So if you come across them please AVOID them at all costs.

Did not turn up twice and bedroom was now full of wasps poor service

Foolishly looked up on internet for wasp removal using our town name, lo and behold, up popped Erg pest control in my town. Trust pilot shows 5* so I called them Friday early am and they quoted £143.75inc vat and would be out by 1pm. Email said by 2pm. They called at 12pm said they couldn’t come out till Monday. Then I noticed it’s a Southend on sea number , which is just a call centre forwarding jobs to businesses. Then I checked Trustpilot to check and saw that the reality was completely opposite from the 5* ! I decided to cancel as they couldn’t come out when I needed them. I found a local pest controller. Total cost with guarantees £80 inc. They were also quite scathing of this company. They should be stopped from promoting a 5* trust pilot review picture, Do not use, expensive and just an out source service.

Absolute rip off. Charge a fortune ‘remove’ a wasp nest in the attic. They wacked it with a telescopic stick and then aloes away. Was told to give it a couple of days, 2 weeks later there’s still a number of wasps hanging around. They were in our property for 4 minutes.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS

Awful company will scam you out of money and will not do the job . Avoid at all costs. Look on google reviews they want to take your card details bill you and not do the job. If you are unlucky enough to get Josh when you complain do not expect any customer service, or help. Cowboys!

This company continues to contact me for my pest control services.
Be aware trades people, they will rip off the customer and then the tradesman.

If you are a sub contractor or sole trader do not do any work for this company they will not pay you , they will bankrupt you , their terms say trader paid in 30 days of doing the job , try minimum of five months !!!! Do not sign up for them

Called them to do a job on pigeons on the house for my mums property. Made very clear that it was for the repair of pigeon wire and addition to netting to stop them roosting and they should come prepared with appropriate equipment. They took the job and said they could do it. A rude and unhelpful tradesman turned up a few days later with no ladder. Said he'd had no details from the call centre that booked him and he couldn't do anything. He made a few phone calls and then left. I was then charged the full hour of £210 for this. I would avoid them at all costs - they only want simple easy jobs and are mostly working with poor quality freelance contractors and don't give them any details in advance.

As the majority say, please read the reviews! Utter rip off. They sub contract to another company, therefore you pay twice.
No mention of vat, and the price is double what you would pay for a local service.
They allude to be from the town you input, but they are based in Southend !! DO NOT USE
