AVOID
Was in the store in Oakham about a month ago now when the young server who’d been doing her hardest to help everyone was yelled at by the manager and she walked out crying her eyes out. Absolutely diabolical behaviour to allow a manager who doesn’t seem to be good at his job shout at someone who clearly knew what she was doing.
Unfortunately the App has not worked…
Unfortunately the App has not worked for me on a number of occasions and the staff members seem unable to help. I had saved over £8.00 in credit for loyalty and lost it all when the app was changed. I’d accrued over£5.00 in credit a couple of months ago. My loyalty card is saved in my Apple Wallet but has not worked the last few times I’ve tried it so have tried logging on to my account via their website. I’ve ended up resetting my password about 10 times but even though it says it has updated, if I try and log in I get a message saying credentials are not recognised. However, I cannot set up a new account as I’m told there is already an account using my telephone number. Ive tried messaging Esquires Customer Services to no avail. I’ve been going around in circles for weeks. It’s such a shame as I really liked the atmosphere and food at my local Esquires in Southsea but I no longer trust the brand and would rather take my custom to somewhere which rewards its very loyal customers.
Lovely chai late and hot chocolates
Lovely chai late and hot chocolates and the barristas always make me smile.
Breakfasts are delish, especially their avo on toast.. Super yummy!!
Bad hygiene
Esquires Hertford.
Went in to treat myself to a large breakfast an coffee as a treat with my granddaughter.
Ordered my food
Sat down stairs
Watched the staff member use bare hands dip into a container with raw tomatoes
Then without washing her hands
Took cooked hot chicken out of a container an put on the same sandwich with her bare hands.
If different areas are meant to be used in preparation of these items
Surely different tongs
Or at least gloved hands should be used.
I asked for a refund
Am i sure ?
Yes
Why ?
Bad hygiene
I am washing my hands.
I just watched you. And that dirty top really doesn't look very hygienic.
I was going to leave it
But as she rolled her eyes an looked at me like I am being a pain.
I asked
You always wear your rings as well ?
No answer.
Well you shouldn't
This might seem petty to some.
But if staff can't observe basic hand hygiene
What else are they not bothering about ?
An I am so petty I will never be back.
Used to like going there too.
Such a shame.

Esquires in Saffron Walden is to me the best coffee shop in the town.
I would like to give a shout out to Poppy and Wendy who are always so friendly and helpful.
Oakham branch- so disappointing
Decided to try the new Esquires in Oakham today - so disappointing. Such a long wait for the coffee to be delivered to our table after ordering and then it wasn't worth the wait. Organic doesn't necessarily mean good and the modus operandi doesn't seem to work.
internet connection
This situation is quite problematic. As a business professional, I was attempting to have coffee while organizing several of my orders, all of which involve partners based in China. However, I found that I was unable to access any of their websites, as the internet connection appeared to block them. This is both unusual and concerning.
I find myself in the strange situation…
I find myself in the strange situation of submitting a bad review for the new Leatherhead branch which hasn't even opened. I applied for a job there and following a telephone interview I was invited to a face to face interview which I attended on a Tuesday. I received a message on the Friday apologising for not being in touch and promising to make contact on the Monday. That day came and went and despite me messaging I was fobbed off by the person who interviewed me saying he'd be in contact and saying he'd ring me which he never did. It was apparent that I hadn't got the job but at least have the decency to let me know officially. It was well over two weeks after my interview that I attended the new coffee shop in Leatherhead while it was got ready for opening and I confronted the person who interviewed me. I was greeted with what I can only describe as pure arrogance! He'd apparently done nothing wrong with not contacting me and to him it was shame that I felt any different! What a horrendous advert this behaviour paints of an apparently professional company. I think I had a lucky escape by not getting the job!
I’m giving 3 stars and thats generous
I’m
Feeling generous on giving 3 stars whist the coffe place in Market Harborough was clean and tidy unfortunately the guy behind the counter completely mixed up our order and we got charged more for his incompetence we asked for a latte and cappuccino coffees he asked small or regular we said small abd we got regular totally not listening To us !!!! then the coffee was brought us which was nice but we got 2 cappuccino’s not a good thing I did accept my drink and took a sip only for it to be luke warm milk bearly heated I think the guy on there needs some more training !! Or an ear wash lol hers where the 3 stars come in the food though was delicious and well presented but this was done by a different service assistant thankfully I don’t think I’d of trusted him with our food also but sadly we paid well over the odds for two heated sandwiches with side salad and two luke warm (tepid I’d. Call it ) drinks I would return but I’m
Hesitant !!!!!!! Need a goodwill gesture to go back because of the server NOT LISTENING OR DOING HIS JOB WELL !!
brilliant company
brilliant company - smashes any other retail coffee shop out the park - very welcoming and professional team highly rate and recomend
Golden star coffee shop
Allways go in and out of the franchise, especially the shop in St neots, alleays well managed well mannered staff , highly professional.
The shops decor is allways clean warm and welcoming and iv noticed they are always doing subtle changes to keep it looking 10/10
Would highly recommend these franchise over any other highly street coffee shop , its no comparison to Costa or greggs
A Gem within the Ancient Market Place, Kingston…
Have eaten in and had takeaways from newly open Esquires Kingston ( within Next, Market Place) and love it. Staff are so welcoming and everything I’ve tried has been delicious, very fresh and knockout coffee ( very important to me). Yesterday I had a pesto chicken and Nduja toasted sourdough sandwich, very moreish. The jacket potatoes are my go to, not many places do these and the choice of toppings are great, tikka chicken my current favourite. Lovely to sit overlooking the Market Place for a bit of quiet people watching away from the hustle. Recommended to friends and everyone seems to have enjoyed it.
Leighton Buzzard not great
I have used the Leighton Buzzard branch a few times now and the experience is generally poor, from first impression, broken glass in door, the glass food counter is always filthy, the glass looks like it is cleaned with a mop, service is never very attentive, they take your money and hand you a numbered spoon glued into a pot with bathroom sealant, there is never any sugar available, and after an excessive wait for a simple late, they bring it over with no spoon, coffee quality hit and miss.
Food is cold
Eaten twice in Gerrards cross for breakfast before 10.30 am
Food cold
Toast not toasted even Thoigh meant to be toast
Eggs cold
Bacon cold
Very disappointing
Esquires Loughton high road
Esquires Loughton high road
Best coffee on the high road by far, excellent customer service and the staff are very polite and welcoming,

Nice cozy coffee shop

Male coffee maker guy very rude
Male coffee maker guy very rude, had accomodated a group of people by closing off half the restaurant. The only indication that this half of the restaurant was not in use was he had pulled a couple of chairs into odd angles which still allowed one to walk through as normal not realising what was going on (No Signage). I went to walk in this area not realising this and in an annoyed and loud voice he said “Can’t you see the chairs “ to which I replied, Yes I can clearly see the chairs? Thinking what is this man on about? He gestured with his finger to go sit on the other side of the restaurant, which we did. When I went to place my order I was asked by the waitress how are you to which I replied that I had, had better welcomes at other places! The male coffee guy said “I am not apologising” to which I replied “You don’t appear to be the type who would “ He then angrily said “I’m not serving you “.
Owners need to book this man a course at “Charm School “ he clearly should not be dealing with customers until he learns how to speak to people properly.
Best coffee shop in Worthing
I frequently visit the Worthing branch of Esquires and is has become my favourite coffee shop... Which is saying a lot as you can't turn around without running into a coffee place in Worthing.
The staff are always friendly and a big shout out to Sonia, Izzy and Poppy who always make it a worthwhile visit.
The food is always exceptional and I can't fault the coffee at all. Plenty of choices with various milks and syrups for coffee aficionados of all walks.
It has such a relaxing vibe that I quite frequently bring a book with me as even during its busy rush, it's still a peaceful place to sit and just veg for a short while with a hot cup of Joe and delicious melt toasty
