Fantastic and Efficient
Firstly, I very Highly Recommend using this Garage for your adaptation needs. I have a bit of a long review, so please bear with me.
I contacted John Bartlett Garage and spoke to the lovely Serena. She provided fantastic advice, and was very welcoming and warm.
I made the call to the Garage the day after suffering a significant sports injury with an extensive recovery time. I had a road trip planned 7 weeks later, which I didn't want to miss. I didn't want to let the family down and was determined not to give up.
When I made the call, I was panicked and nervous. I knew nothing about adaptations except, you can get a left foot accelerator installed. Speaking to Serena, she advised that i would be better suited to hand controls. This advice saved my European road trip (a bit more about this later).
Serena Suggested that I attend the workshop for a demo. This was truly helpful. On the day, I was shown around by the owner (John) who provided valuable advice. I felt ready to make the transition to hand controls. At this point, I didn't even have a car, and I was nursing a damaged foot, awaiting surgery.
Upon purchasing a used car from a dealer, they declined to mention that the car already had a left foot accelerator system. I thought I struck the lottery. However, rather than following impulse and attempting to save money, I contacted John Bartlett and booked it in for hand controls. I trusted the original advice provided by Serena and John.
I informed the garage of the preinstalled left foot accelerator pedal, speaking to Phill( the fitter/mechanic). He took the time out to provide valuable advice. On this occasion, it was important to put the car back to original, to then have the hand controls fitted.
On the day of fitting, everything went smooth and I recieved call asking me to collect the car shortly after. This was a massive relief, as I had just 48 hours until departure to the South of France. I was apprehensive about it all. But in less that a mile I felt comfortable driving the car using this method.
I completed a 2000 mile round trip using hand controls. I found this system very easy to use. The advice provided by staff was accurate. Left foot accelerating and braking would have taken a lot longer to get used to. To be honest, when I tried it in my new car, I nearly wrote it off the morning after i used it. That would have been the quickest car ownership on record and my trip wouldn't have happened.
Again, I would like to thank Serena, John, and Phill for helping me to create wonderful memories with the family. Without you, it would have been impossible. I hope you recieved my post card.
